Pretty good erotica, perfect for fans of the Zodiac Academy and similar stories. Not a ton of plot to speak of, but that’s not why we’re here! There’s plenty of angst and steam that made it fun and engaging. I think the next installment will get the plot going a bit, but mostly I want to know what Apollo’s deal is and if he’s as interesting as Valen. I’m kinda rooting for him.

Intense and heated love triangle with a few added angles, or angels in this case. Powerful mafia, for the men - women as property to be bartered - how to find some bit of control to get a sense of freedom, to get what, or who, you really want and try to make sense of the reality. Strong and edgy.

Harlow dreads having to wed her closest friend Apollo because she doesn't love him, their families have already agreed to the couple's union when they reach legal marriage age. Her heart and desires are set on a different partner: the evil Valen, the boy she hates and God's right hand.

There are undoubtedly some steamy and hot situations in it, but they don't dominate the story as a whole.

In this book, Val and Harlow share some hot moments while their god Apollo plays around with the Magdalenas. Until Harlow begins to appear to him in a different light. I really liked this novel, and I'm eager to read the next book in the series since I'm curious about how everything will turn out and who will end up with the less innocent Harlow.

Gods & Angels is the first book in the Sinners of Saint Benedicts duet by E.J. Knox, Elizabeth Stevens. In this dark contemporary high school enemies-to-lovers romance, Harlow Callahan is promised to a god she hates and an angel she desires. With enough steam to melt your screen, this story is not for the faint of heart!

I loved the forbidden love aspect of this story between Harlow and Valen. They are both such strong characters fighting for what they want, despite the obstacles in their way. The sexual tension and chemistry between them is off the charts! I was also intrigued by the love triangle between Harlow, Valen, and Apollo. While I don't usually like love triangles, this one was handled in a way that didn't make me want to throw my Kindle across the room. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see how everything plays out!

If you're looking for a dark, angsty, and steamy read, I would highly recommend Gods & Angels. Just be warned that there are some possible triggers within the story.

Holy shit. The tropes in this book are fantastic, and are PERFECTLY executed. I took a liking to Harlow immediately, because while she used to be a meek and obedient girl, she isn’t anymore and she’ll bite back. Valen is your typical high school bully, pushing around everyone and anyone — and much to his enjoyment, Harlow pushes back. Even though it enrages him that she is promised to his boss and god, Apollo, he will do everything in his power to sneak a few moments with Harlow. Even if it breaks him.

This book kept me on my toes the entire time, broke my heart, and then mended it. I devoured this book within a day, and I’m already looking forward to the next installment in this series. Im obsessed with bad boy, mafia-esque Valen and maybe even took a big liking to golden boy Apollo. I would definitely recommend this book if you’re into said tropes I mentioned, and love emotional rollercoasters!

***Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read this book**

So I went into this book really interested in the premise. Bully romance, academy-like setting, a bit of a mafia vibe going on with the main characters. All great and wonderful. The chemistry between the MC and the broken alpha character started off super hot. The back-and-forth dialog was cliche but it's what I came there for. Even the underlying plot was interesting what little bits we got of it.

What dragged this book down for me was the extremely lackluster sex. Most of it was just repetitive penetration with absolutely no foreplay or significant lead-up. Sure social banter can get a person's body going. But when the penetration is seconds after just a little over the close teaching I can only cringe because I honestly worry if anyone can get that wet that quickly. Also, there was like one lackluster blowjob and some very half-hearted cunnalingus. The main character also wants the guy she ends up fucking the most in the book to be rough with her but yet pouty about spanking? It just didn't add up for me and left me feeling pretty meh about the book overall.

Not quite what i was expecting, but very different, plenty will like this.. A boarding school for roman catholic children of mobsters. Children who grow up far too soon and Valen for one was inducted into a violent career far too early. The characters all seemed more like college aged than 17/18 but that fitted with the plot and setting's background.
I wasn't sure if i liked it or not, but had to read to the end. Addictive maybe?

I liked this book. The characters were strong, especially the leading lady character, and interesting. The genre of the novel perfect for me, I simply love a good romance novel. The book kept my interest from page one. It was action packed, and I would be interested to read a sequel and find out what happens in this love triangle.
This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I wouldn’t mind reading more. Thank you for Netgalley for letting me read this ARC, I really liked it and I recommend this novel to others too.

Wow! This was an incredibly spicy but also sweet enemies to lovers forbidden romance story! I was afraid at first I wouldn't like the high school setting, but it didn't end up feeling to juvenile. And the steam! I read this in practically one sitting and I can't wait to read the next one!

A dark, edgy high school romance. Enemies to lovers and tortured love triangle.... what is not to love? The heroine is feisty and both hero are very alpha. The sexual tension is high and probably more suited for adults IMO but maybe that's just me. I enjoyed it a lot as I am not a high schooler.... :)

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

At first I thought this was another typical bordering school but what this book turned into a lot more and made it more interesting. I finished this book in one night and want to continue with the next book in the series.

It was amazing. I loved the tension, and the sexy love story. I admit I thought Apollo would fall for Harlow’s friend but that did not happen. I like the love triangle.
