Twins separated at birth, and exchanging lives temporary for the greater good. Family drama, corportae fueds and a strong willed heroine. This is Out Of Love in a nutshell.
A fairly fast paced read with some over the top situations that somehow work in the story. Jesse and Scott echange their lives for a short period in order to help eachother and things take a different turn. Jesse is a hot shot corporate whereas Scott is a farmer with a secret.
While the whole plot seemed right out of a movie, some situations needed to be evolved in a better way. There were parts that were rushed, like Monica's aunt and their history plus her lost love life. I wanted a backstory to Monica's resistance to relationships. The slow burn was building up nicely but could have been tackled better. Scott being a hot farmer with a wit was the icing on the cake.
Its a good read for a cosy afternoon in.

Out of Love is a cute "Meet Cute" Book.
This is book 2 in The Switch Series, I have not read book 1 and think I probably should have before reading this book.
It was a fun, humorous, angsty read.

OUT OF LOVE By Ruth Cardello

This is part two of The Switch series. Scott finds out that he has an identical twin after years. The switch between Scott and Jesse was supposed to be for just a day but turned into more. Scott bored out of his mind, decides to step into Jesse's shoes in the office for a couple of days. That's where he comes across Monica, his brother's biggest client's daughter.

😊What i liked -

✔ Workplace Romance/Insta Attraction.
✔ I liked the part where Scott is impersonating Jesse.
✔ Even though they have just met , the bond between Scott , Jesse and even Thane was really strong.
✔ I Liked Scott's relationship with his parents and even neighbour LJ.
✔ Monica is a strong character with her own sets of insecurities.
✔ This is a light , easy read with corporate espionage and attempted murder.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ I really wanted romance to be there. I felt it got lost.

An enjoyable and heartwarming romance with some fun twists and turns. I really enjoyed reading about the twin brothers and their different lives and loves. Plenty of drama and passion makes this a great read! 5 stars

A great read once again. Ruth never disappoints. I highly recommend reading "Strictly Business" first. While you can read "Out of Love" as a stand-alone, it ties in nicely with "Strictly Business"

It's official- switching lives with a twin is dangerous,  especially if you just met. Knowing nothing about how each other lived, Jesse and Scott switched places for a day.  Only it lasted much longer and took on a life of its own.  Who would have guessed that they would end up with much more in common than to look alike.  When Scott met Monica he was pretending to be Jesse,  what gets complicated is that he's supposed to already know her.  Monica has a wonderful aunt that keeps her grounded.  She is over worked and aunt Bibi wants more for her than to always be working.  As luck would have it Monica finds more than just a farmer in Scott.  She found the whole package. Trust takes time and life is difficult but when you find the right one nothing is impossible.

Make every moment count

I loved how Scott and Monica's story started out and it sets the tone for the rest of the story. I loved their first meet. It was so funny. I have been wondering about Scott's story and how he's going to spin things out with Monica. Despite the storyline, it was pretty easy to read and entertaining enough. Though I wished the characters were given more depth. So that they can give me some feels and emotions. I thought this would be it for this series. But nope, there's more coming and I can't wait for it.

Out Of Love is the second book in The Switch series. It's unclear if Thane will have a book in the series or spinoff considering what we learn at the end of this book. If you've not read the first book in the series, stop reading NOW. The stories are intermingled for the time lines, so reading this first will have spoilers.
What could possibly go wrong when you find you have a twin and decide to switch places? Only the best thing ever, finding someone who you can't get out of your head and proving to everyone that you don't need a degree to be smart. Jesse and Scott each grew up not knowing the other existed and now they've switched places so Jesse could help protect Scott's farm. Scott was supposed to stay out of sight and whole up at his brothers apartment, but he decided to check out the offices. Monica Bellerwood is out for blood, she's ready to confront Jesse after his rude condescending email, yet when she meets him for the first time in person her reaction to him is baffling. Oh course she doesn't know it's really Scott pretending to be Jesse. There are too many secrets and dangers lurking, so jump in and untangle the web.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one in the series. I think it's because I liked Scott better than Jesse. He is a commoner and he understands people and animals. He was an easier character to relate to.

However, I felt sorry for Monica. Her father is overbearing yet doesn't seem to have time for her. All she wants is his love and she thinks the only way to get it is to be the best lead researcher there is. Scott figures her out pretty quickly and sets out to fix the issue. His methods are interesting.

And now, that surprise at the end of the book... how could you Ms Cardello? How long am I going to have to wait to get some answers?

While I liked the first book of The Switch series, this one was even better. With so many different personalities and unknowns among our cast of characters, I wasn't really sure where Scott's story would go. This one had some wonderful depth. Monica, heck on wheels, has way more under the surface than one would expect. Scott as well. He is much smarter than any person in his life ever gave him credit for but to be fair, he hid all that. Secrets hidden make for some surprising results, not all great...at first. 4.5 stars for me but that ending tipped it up and I'm looking forward to more in this world.

Thank you Monlake and NetGalley for this arc.

I have read Ruth Cardello’s previous work years ago and always enjoyed the escapism her books have brought me. unfortunately, this book didn’t do it for me. I found it to be repetitive at times. Around 25% in I decided to DNF.

I didn't love this book. It didn't ever grasp me and pull me in and keep me turning pages. Without more context and/or backstory and/or emotion, I find the lost twin concept to be overly fictional.

That being said, this is very well written, but I don't think this author is for me.

I personally don't like giving bad reviews as the author has probably put alot of work into it but I also like honest reviews so here it is.

I really didn't get on with this book I found it hard to get into and abit boring, I felt no connection to the characters at all.

Thankyou for giving me the opportunity to read the book

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, sweet, fast-paced and steamy. I didn't want to put it down. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is book 2 in The Switch series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

This is the first book that I've read by Ruth Cardello, and I loved it! I really liked Scott and all of his rescue animals, especially his duck. I can't wait to read Thane's story next.

I loved this book. Scott is still pretending to be his newly found twin (Jesse). He’s not supposed to go out, but he does and meets Monica. But how to tell her who he is? He doesn’t like secrets between them. I had some tears at one point, will she give him a chance? Loved how Scott shows her to be a great couple. It’s very heartwarming and I loved how great they were together. Loved their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Lighthearted, easy quick read, if you’re looking for a pure escape, quirky story then this is it.
This is book 2 in the Switch Series and while it could be read as a standalone, as the author does re-cap book 1, I had not and I felt reading book 1 was necessary to understand the nuances of book 2.
That said, I struggled connecting with this read and it’s characters. I’m blaming it on me and what I’ve been reading lately.
The book was funny, sexy, lighthearted and quirky.
Insta-attraction into insta-love with a twin twist. Overall it was well paced, but there was a too much quirkiness to the story that was too eye rolling for me.
You decide!
3.5 stars!

I love Ruth Cardello’s storIes. They are so compelling but what made this one so interesting was how smart everyone is in this story. To be able to write scenes with so much science and to make such sense made it a joy to read. Out of love is the story of a twin switch. Scott was normally a farmer who loved his animals but he agreed to a switch with a newly found twin who was a business man in the city. There he meets a woman who is more like his twin Jesse, but Scott sees more. This set up a delightful story with lots of turns and twist. I really enjoyed it
