By introducing young readers, specifically Black boys, to well-known black men and then providing a short paragraph about each one, this book can start a conversation about the meaning readers can find in these lives. Much more background needs to be filled in., but this is a beginning. The artwork is colorful and appealing and the writing is clear and informative.

I absolutely love this new rhyming picture book. A boy and his father walk along a colorful pathway that leads them to discover those that helped pave the path before them around every bend.

this kids book is going to be a great addition to any diverse library collection. as a teacher i look forward to adding this story into our classroom because it allows my students to see a kid who looks like them as well as learn about some people from history that contributed to their history.

This was a well-written inspirational story. I would recommend it for patrons looking for books featuring black male role models from a variety of fields, such as politics, sports, and literature. The artwork was gorgeous.
