Love a good romance where the lead characters are so good for each other. Fiona & Jake are bright & fun characters. Fiona is introverted & needs help speaking in public. Jake is hired to do that for her. It also turns out that Jake lives in her building. This is a great romance & would be a great beach read.
Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for advanced copy in exchange for my honest review
Love out loud -- what a fun book about shy Fiona, a kick-ass vet, and Jake, a speaking coach. From their meet-cute in a revolving door, to the ways she easily one-ups him, to the development of their relationship, this book was a nice treat, which I think will be particularly enjoyed by dog lovers. It made me want my own little Brutus!
A cute rom com, with lovable characters and a predictable storyline. Liked reading about the 'overcoming phobias' thing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
Here we have a story about a very shy vet who has been nominated for an award for her service to the community, meaning she needs to speak at a banquet, and wants to do nothing less. We also have a public speaking coach who believes that shy people just need to try harder, and also is afraid of dogs. Throw them together and we have the romance book Love Out Loud. Fiona, our Vet with two dogs she takes everywhere, and Jake, our Public Speaking Coach who makes bets about how many successful clients he has, not only live in the same building but have an attraction to each other that is hard to overcome when he doesn't like dogs (her deal breaker) and she is a client (his deal breaker). This book follows his work training her to be able to present at her award ceremony, and her teaching him that animals are great. It is a cute book, an easy read, and while it is listed as book 3, it is definitely able to be read as a standalone.
This book is an easy read rom-com, a lovely feel good story! It took me a while to connect with the characters, Jacob seemed very aloof, Fiona’s shyness didn’t help.
I’m glad that I kept reading, the unfolding romance was cute and delightful, two people forced together form an unexpected attraction!
The initial awkwardness that Fiona feels towards Jacob is all due to shyness, her confidence as a veterinarian allows a funny lovable person to follow her heart!
Jacob is attracted to Fiona, his fear of dogs soon takes a back seat when he becomes Fiona’s speech coach.
I love how the main characters work to face their fears together and romance unexpectedly appears!
Thanks to Entangled Publishing, Netgalley and Marissa Clarke for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A cute story and up to the drama it was a fun read and the two main characters were easy to like but the drama was a little predictable.
Love Out Loud was a fun and entertaining read and a nice escape. Fiona, a veterinarian is attracted to Hot Guy in her building, Jake. They end up working together and find that opposites do attract. I enjoyed the characters, the fun moments, and of course, the dogs. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
This book had a meet cute bot otherwise read predictable. I stopped reading at 20%. DNF
*************I received an ARC for my honest opinion from NetGalley*******************
Fiona is an award-winning veterinarian who is somewhat of an introverted mess personally. She is much more comfortable talking to her pet patients directly than to their owners. While daydreaming about the gorgeous guy in her building as he walks by, she inadvertently gets them both stuck in the building’s revolving front door. It is the perfect “meet cute” with a side of embarrassment compliments of the curiously shaped toy, Sir Squashalot. Coincidentally the same day, Fiona ends up as the new client “challenge” for that very one hot neighbor.
Jake is a public speaking coach, who also happens to be deathly afraid of dogs. He has noticed the cute chick checking him out in their lobby, but usually avoids her at all costs due to her two bitty pups. An important client refers Fiona to Jake. He has no choice but to take on the task and get Fiona in top speech shape for an award she will be receiving. He begins to find out that Fiona is much more than his referral client’s pet project. And here is the “BUT” – Fiona is off-limits as one of his new clients. No mixing business and personal, blah, blah, blah.
Fiona’s first relationship rule – “must love animals”. Right out of the gates, Jake busts that rule with his fear of dogs. As they start spending time together “working” on her speech, she moves him into her comfort zone. Jake starts challenging himself confronting his childhood fear of dogs. Cozying right up to Fiona’s two Cairn Terriers, Otto and Daisy. An ensuing research subject drama splits up our couple, but they find each other in the end with a perfectly spoken HEA. “How could they not?”
Love Out Loud is truly a LOL worthy read. It is the third installment of our authorette Ms. Clarke’s Animal Attraction series. I didn’t even know it was part of a series, it was that good as a standalone. You will absolutely love this cute and sexy story for your upcoming beach reading.
I received this ARC from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. An unusual premise I really enjoyed it and finding out it's part of a series makes me eager to delve back into the previous books!
A great story of how difficult it is to overcome deep seeded fears and how the right person can really give that extra push and support you need. Fiona and Jake were perfect together.
I loved everything about this book! The story and the characters are so captivating. Marissa Clarke is a gifted storyteller. This book is full of dogs and a wonderful happily ever after story. I can't wait to read more by her.
This romcom has everything I love in a book!
• Sweet swoony moments.
• A to die for hero.
• ANIMALS!!
• A quirky heroine who I can relate to on all levels.
• And a meetcute!!! I love a good meetcute and honestly, they make it break a book for me.
I read this beauty within a day of itself because I simply did not want to stop! Not to mention it’s so well written and the words just flow like butter!
This is the first book that I have read by this author. I found the book refreshing, very funny, and romantic. The characters and how they met was quite intriguing and made me want to find out how the story would end, especially for Fiona, who is a veterinarian at Animal Attraction. Who knew her Hot Guy neighbor would end up being her communication coach. I loved the beautiful cover too with the cute cairn terriers. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Fiona is an amazing vet who loves her job more than anything. When she found out she was getting an award but it requires her to give a speech she starts to panic. She avoids conversations and speaking to others at all costs, Her friend steps in and hires a speech coach to help her out with her fear of public speaking. Little did she know that Jake is the guy she has had a thing for since she saw him at her apartment complex. Jake had no idea how much work he had cutout for him when he agreed to take on Fiona as a client. She is very awkward and shy but once she gets to talking she is good. Having to work on her speech has put them together a lot and the more time they spend together the more they see that they have a connection that gets stronger every day. Will they be able to make is as a couple and will Fiona be able to give her speech without panic attacks? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so cute I really liked Fiona and Jake. At first I was not a fan of Jake I felt like he came off as a bit of a know it all who thought his poo did not stink. I found Fiona one of those relatable characters I think in life we can all have a fear of something and it can be overwhelming but we fight through and tackle life. I really loved all the puppies this in book so much personality with the jumping from the pages. Fiona had such an amazing group of friends it felt like they all were more like sisters. I have not read any other books in the series but this was so cute and fun I am sure those were just as equally fun to read. This book does have adult content and may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was worth the read and I would recommend it get read for some laughs for sure.
This romance was very sweet, heartwarming and it includes dogs, animal shelters and a very shy veterinarian who falls for her speech coach.
I unfortunately have to say that it was a mediocre book for me even though it contained a lot of the things I love in my romances.
I was kind of irritated at the female main character because she didn’t speak to the people around her but used her dogs to get her messages across. Both main characters was very caricatured sometimes to the extreme and that sometimes made them unlikable.
But the further I got into the book and when the romance unfolded it started to change for me and I started to see them as adorable together and they became likable luckily:-)!
They started to open themselves up to change and they helped each other with both of their problems.
The one steamy scene in it was supposed to be funny but became a little cringe because of the terminology used unfortunately.
And then the third act breakup came and I was right back at finding her irritating :-(!
So my opinion was very up and down but it was still very sweet and it had cute dogs in it so if you like that in a romance then I can recommend it.
I got this arc from Entangled books and Netgalley. This is my own opinion and voluntary review.
This book was so cute and fun! I enjoyed every second of it. This is my first time reading this author but definitely won’t be my last. I have major anxiety over public speaking, so I really connected with the heroine. This book was well written and kept me interested from beginning to end. Huge thanks to Entangled publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Fiona Nichols is a veterinarian who is more comfortable around animals than she is people. When she finds out she has won an award for helping the homeless and their animals, fear strikes. She can not think of anything worse than having to stand up and speak before a crowd. She can barely speak when she encounters people, especially the “hot” guy from her building. When the hot guy becomes her speaking coach, Fiona starts to panic. Can she get over her shyness in time to face a crowd? Can Fiona even think of a relationship with a man who is terrified of dogs, or will they both find they can face their fears if they have each other?
What a fun, fresh story Marissa Clarke brings us with this third book in her Animal Attraction series. I really enjoyed both main characters with their wit and the obstacles they overcome. The story also gave us insight to the life of a shy introvert which taught me many things as I myself am an extrovert. Being an animal lover, I also loved all the furry friends we meet along the way. Thank you Entangled Publishing for my copy of the book which I read and voluntarily reviewed.
Fiona and Jake were so great together. They are opposites in many ways, but find common ground with each other. It was fun watching them grow closer as he worked with her on public speaking skills. They were both interesting characters, but I especially loved Fiona. Despite being shy she's doing her best to overcome her aversion to public speaking. It was awesome how passionate she is about animals and being a vet, too.
I really like Marissa Clarke's writing style. The story is fun, sweet, and engaging and made me smile and laugh often.
I have been looking forward to this book for a long time, and it was even better than I hoped it would be. It is the third in a series but can be read as a standalone. I definitely recommend reading them all, though! Each book was just as fun as this one.
