Of course I received this book after I had already purchased it. I don’t mind because it was money well spent. I learned a great deal from this book. I learned how to approach deciding what I wanted to pursue and the best steps to make it happen. It also dives deep into mindsets and how to overcome being your own barrier to success. The author also injects their own journey which made it feel more like personal advice instead of advice from a list of successful people. This is a book you can use more than once as you attempt to create plans for your future. Can’t express how awesome of a read this was and would highly recommend to all others to check out. 5 stars!
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.
This book is transformational. It will help you get comfortable with change and how with some crisis, there is no looking back. Remember when the pandemic started, we were waiting for things to get back to normal.. now everyone has reached the state that this is like metamorphosis and you cant go back to the larva stage. Many examples of people who have made professional changes make the author's point clear about finding a good way of leaping into your future. I was able to help a friend see how change can be beneficial and need not be feared. Fashionista turned vegan story had a great impact on me. Give it a ride, you wont be disappointed.
Novels, recorded music, automatic elevators, teddy bears and the waltz. What do these things have in common? They were all controversial when they first emerged in society. Change is inevitable, but most of us are hesitant to embrace it. Feifer argues that by examining the initial reactions to and ultimate results of changes in the past, we can better anticipate and adapt to future changes. He details parts of daily life that are commonplace now, but were sources of discomfort at their origins. Readers will find themselves thinking of current cultural phenomena in a different light. The book offers a framework for addressing your current thought framework and determining opportunities for positive change in your personal life and career. Highly recommend!
What a great read. Really gave me some ideas for the next moves in my career and next steps to take. Really enjoyed the book.
Amazing book! As good as the bestseller 'Think like a Rocket Scientist'.
They say 'the best way to predict the future is to build it'. This book teaches you how! Read this book to learn how to shockproof your life and career from unexpected events, and soar to success!
Walks you through the process of navigating panic. First panic, then adapt, then be your new self authentically. Great pop culture examples in each part that shows that you are not alone in panic and that adaptation is a long process and not easy. Very easy to read and get along with the author voice. Enjoyable :)
