Way to go ladies! I loved all 3 stories in Targeted. If you love romance and suspense then I highly recommend this book. The only drawback is that all 3 novellas refer to people in earlier books. The storylines were strong, with fantastic characters. I really enjoyed the settings. So brew a pot of tea while you snuggle under a cozy blanket and read Targeted!
I was given a copy of Targeted by the publisher with no expectations, All thoughts are my own.
All three novellas are action-packed from start to finish, featuring strong women, and they're also connected to other books by these authors. . If you have not read the previous books, you can definitely still follow along. But when you know the backstory, I think it makes the plots come alive. The suspense elements of all three novellas were outstanding, and the pace was good even with the shorter length. the romance was a perfect blend of sarcasm, humor, and banter. Action and romance into a shorter story that doesn't leave you wanting more.
Three well-written suspense romances by three awesome authors. This is a must-read for anyone that loves adventure and suspense.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Revell through NetGalley. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
A book that is made up of three romantic suspense novellas that are fast-paced and exciting.
On The Run by Lynette Eason-
The first story is about a woman named Daria. She is very intelligent and has superb computer skills. Oh yeah, she's also a FBI agent. This and her father's past criminal life puts her in a very dangerous situation. She is targeted. Along the way, she meets a doctor that is determined to keep her safe.
Deadly Objective by Lynn H. Blackburn-
Emily Dixon was a physical therapist that landed up assigned to treat the Vice President's son, Mason. This assignment proved to be quite dangerous. Liam Harper was a FBI Agent assigned to protect Mason. The two were soon on a mission to save not only Mason but themselves. A little romance thrown in makes one exciting read.
Caught in the Crosshairs by Natalie Walters-
Claudia is one tough CIA Agent. Smart, confident and beautiful. Ari, a former Army PSYOPS officer couldn't let that distract him in finding out who killed the Saudi Prince. Claudia is at risk and Ari was determined to keep her safe.
All three stories were interesting and just what I needed to read. All the characters were exciting to read and likeable.
What’s better than a new romantic suspense story by one of Christian fiction’s best? How about three new stories by three of the top writers in Christian romantic suspense!!!
Targeted brings together three short stories by three of the top writers in Christian fiction. The first story, On the Run, gives us IT Specialist Daria Nevsky, an FBI agent who is an expert hacker and is now being hunted by someone. She tries to hide while figuring out who wants her dead.
The second story, Deadly Objective, shows physical therapist Emily Dixon and Secret Service Agent Liam Harper, who have tried to keep their relationship strictly professional, which becomes difficult when a killer targets the son of the vice president.
In the third story, Caught in the Crosshairs, CIA officer Claudia Gallegos and army officer Ari Blackman are not close after Claudia is shown to be part of a murder against a Saudi Prince. Ari’s trust has been broken and that is hard for him to get back but in order to keep America safe, but they will have to find a way to work together.
Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn and Natalie Walters are three of the top writers in Christian fiction, and team up they produce a collection of stories that fans will fall in love with. I always love when a writer finds a way to write romantic suspense in a manner that leans a little heavier on suspense than romance and these three have made a fantastic novel that was hard to put down. Each story has its own plot and characters, but they are each individual and entertaining in their own way. Each of these authors are fantastic at what they do and putting them together for this novella collection will be the perfect read for fans of romantic suspense.
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
A definite five star read! On the Run by Lynette Eason: Daria Nevsky, from the Extreme Measures series, gets her own story. Daria is an analyst with the FBI and the daughter of a deceased Russian mob boss. She is injured when her father’s former “friends” attempt to abduct her and she is treated by Dr. Ryker Donohue. When another attempt is made, at the hospital, she and Ryker are on the run. What do they want from her and with the help of former characters, can they escape with their lives? A shorter story, but full of thrilling action and suspense.
Deadly Objective by Lynn H. Blackburn: Emily Dixon, physical therapist, has been treating Mason, the teenage son of the Vice President of the United States. During his treatment, the home is attacked and they are whisked away by Secret Service Agent, Liam Harper. When the safe house is not so safe, someone within the inner circle must be sharing critical information. Why is someone after the son of the VP and can they keep him and themselves safe? I enjoyed the update on characters from the Defend and Protect series.
Caught in the Crosshairs by Natalie Walters: CIA officer Claudia Gallegos is asked to aid someone that she had first met while serving in the middle east. Arriving at the home, she hears gun shots and walks into a horrific scene. With the help of fellow CIA Agent Ari Blackman and her friend FBI Agent Ryan Frost, can they avert the twisted plot and prevent a coup? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
I have really enjoyed all three authors if your looking for Christian Suspense here is a good sampling of these three authors.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book
These three novellas are written by three of my favorite suspense writers, Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Natalie Walters. If you don’t want to take time to read a full novel, this is the book for you, however, after I read the first one, I was so enthralled and intrigued, I moved right onto the second and then the third. Fascinating, interesting plots that captured my attention from the very beginning until the last page was turned.
Each one of these stories has relatable characters, a captivating, intriguing story, many twists, and turns, with some romance thrown in. They exactly what you would expect from a Christian romantic suspense.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own. opinions and comments are my own.
A triple novella collection written by three of my favourite romantic suspense authors? Sign me up.
I really enjoyed these books. It was fun to dive back into the world of some of my favourite series and reading about some of the side characters I loved. These stories are filled with suspense, romance and some great messages.
If I had to pick a favourite it would definitely be Deadly Objective. I enjoyed the flirty banter between Emily and Liam plus the spunky moments with Mason were so fun to read.
Before reading these novellas I had read the connected series by Lynette Eason and Lynn H. Blackburn. I hadn’t read the Harbored Secrets series. I was still able to understand and enjoy Caught in the Crosshairs, I just felt as if there was a little bit of history or character info missing that made it a bit harder to connect with.
I still loved these stories and can’t wait for more from these authors. I’m sure you will love them too.
What’s not to love with three of your favorite authors in one book?! Targeted is definitely my favorite book of novellas that I have read in quite some time. Each novella is expertly written to immediately draw the reader into the story and keep them riveted. I hated to see each one end.
Since I am a huge fan of all three authors, I have read all there books. The novellas give us glimpses of our favorite characters from past books while focusing on a character we have briefly met before. While it was like catching up with old friends for me, a new reader of these authors could easily read this book and not feel as if they were missing a piece of the story.
Targeted is full of suspense, edge of your seat drama, and the right amount of romance. This book is a must read.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
I don't typically read novellas, but I was drawn to this collection because I have read most of the books these authors have written. I enjoyed these novellas because I knew the backstory of most of the major players who are characters or relatives of characters featured in previous books. The suspense elements of all three novellas were very good, and the pace was good even with the shorter length. The romance elements however felt very rushed in each of them which impacted the feel of authenticity of the stories. I would recommend Targeted to fans of these authors, and to those without a lot of time to read.
I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.
I have read books by all three of these authors, and they never disappoint. This is true with this new book which includes three novellas that tie to other series that they write. I am always impressed by authors that can pack action and romance into a shorter story that doesn't leave you wanting more. Ok, well, sometimes you want more, but everything is nicely wrapped up within that novella.
All three stories are action-packed from start to finish and feature strong women who know how to get the job done. All three feature different branches of the government - CIA, FBI, and Secret Service - and it is intriguing to see how they all act and react the same, yet sometimes differently, too. Love can be found right under their noses, and despite trying to fight it, reality sinks in, and each woman accepts that the man in front of her is the right one for her.
While I don't want to play favorites, I think my favorite story was Deadly Objective by Lynn Blackburn. Something about this pairing of a physical therapist and Secret Service agent and the tense situations they endured touched me. Perhaps it was the teen that they were protecting from himself and others.
That isn't to say that On the Run by Lynette Eason didn't grab my attention, with Ryker expanding his patient care beyond the hospital walls. Daria was a smart cookie on top of that, and despite her upbringing with a mob father, she runs the straight and narrow.
Caught in the Crosshairs has a swoony analyst, Ari, who has women fawning all over him no matter where they go. Perhaps that is why he has the playboy and James Bond nicknames. That doesn't stop Claudia from getting her man, both in the field and in love.
These are perfect for reading over lunch or before you turn out the light...but you might have difficulty putting the book down!
We give this book 5 paws up.
An enjoyable romantic suspense novella collection by three great authors. Lynn Blackburn's novella was my favorite of the collection, and I look forward to reading more from these authors in the future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
I really enjoyed all three of these novella’s, two from authors I had read before and one I will now look out for. Full on with suspense, action and romance as well.
Wow! This clean romantic suspense story collection will keep you glued to the page. All three of them portray strong woman that are either in or interact with different intelligence services. My favorite is 'On the Run', which is so action-packed that I couldn't put in down. I love how the E.R. Dr. Ryker Donahue stays by her side to support her even though FBI agent Daria is more skilled. For me, the other two stories tie for a close second. In Deadly Objective, physical therapist Emily is treating the vice-president's son Mason. When danger occurs, Emily is pushed beyond her comfort zone and needs to rely on Secret Service agent Liam. This is the sweetest of the romances. After a call for help, CIA agent Claudia breaks protocol and finds herself in danger in 'Caught in the Crosshairs'. Former Army PSYOPS officer Ari Blackman is sent in to evaluate Claudia. Ari quickly realizes that Claudia is a target and is there to help her. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love this collection.
On the Run by Lynette Eason was an exception romantic suspense novella. Daria was a highly trained FBI agent and ends up in the ER of Dr Ryker. Someone is out to get her and Dr Ryker is determined to help her. I thoroughly enjoyed how Lynette creates scenes where Ryker could help save the day too.
In Deadly Objective by Lynn Blackburn we get a look into the security of the Vice President. Emily is a physical therapist to the VP's son and develops a relationship with one of the Secret Service members, Liam. Liam was such a great character. Lynn did a fabulous job of creating a teenage boy that you loved even when he made questionable decisions. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
Caught in the Crosshairs by Natalie Waters is an action packed romantic suspense. Ari is a PSYOPS officer and is sent to figure out what Claudia knows after she is found at the house of a murdered Saudi Prince. Their banter was so much fun.
Each of the authors have a gift at creating characters that you fall in love with. I highly recommend this series.
I loved this collection of novellas from three very talented authors. There was non-stop action in each story and wonderful characters with a hint of romance mixed into the intrigue and suspense. This is a great collection to read because each story is short and sweet. So, if you are pressed for time, you have a stopping point in between stories. In each story the female character's life was in danger, and the male characters were helping them either escape or protect them. However, the female characters were not wilting little flowers. They were strong women fully capable of protecting themselves, but it is always better to have more protection. I love strong female characters in any books, and these ladies, Daria, Emily and Claudia, definitely fill that box up with strength and determination. The Vice-President's son was a character in the novella by Lynn Blackburn. This character was so real to me in that he was in the public eye day in and day out. He struggled to be what everyone wanted him to be. For some reason this character just stuck out to me. His dilemma as a public figure (who did not really want to be a public figure) just pulled on my heartstrings. I enjoyed each story. I cannot pick out a favorite because they were all excellent (no surprise there considering the authors who wrote the stories)! Suspense and intrigue enthusiasts will love this collection.
Thank you to Revell Books and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really loved this collection of suspense novellas! Each one is finely crafted, and goes along nicely with each of the authors' series. But you don't have to read anything before these novellas to enjoy them as they stand well on their own.
Thank you to Netgalley, the authors and the publisher for this e-book, I seriously enjoyed it!
A positive review was not required of me but was gladly given, and the thoughts above are my own.
I really enjoyed this book. First off to have a book written by 3 of my “go to” authors was a huge win. Each story was a wonderful combination of visiting friends you knew and learning a bit more about those who love and support them.
*I was given an ARC of this in exchange for my honest opinion.
First, the good: Eason and Blackburn's writing is just as good as ever--two fantastic 4 star novellas!
Next, the bad: Walters is a new writer to me, and this will be the last thing I read by her. I didn't enjoy her writing style, characters, or plot. Only kept reading because I wanted to mark the whole book read, lol. This would have been a 1 star read by itself and I wouldn't have kept going if it was a stand-alone title. (Just a few things that bugged me: 1, Claudia's incessant use of Ari's phone, 2, a relationship developing between two people while he's supposedly investigating her, 3, the whole Barbie and Ken doll trope.)
Having read other books by the authors, it was enjoyable to have characters from previous books interspersed throughout these new stories. All the stories are high action, suspenseful with a little romance. The only downside is that novellas are always too short! Recommended!
