So it Goes is the story of advertising rep Malia Evergreen and her former client CEO Palmer Matterson. Malia is one of the founders of an online magazine she runs along with her friends and is in charge of the advertising department. CEO Palmer Matterson is one of her clients but she has never liked him and his over-bearing, egotistical ways. Hence, having decided to leave her role with the company to take up a role as the person-in-charge of the Charity organization their company is setting up, she takes great delight in informing Palmer about the same in their last meeting.

What she doesn't know is that Palmer always had a thing for her and his behaviour with her was just the exception, customized especially to get her attention, rather than his usual norm with his employees. Though Malia doesn't want to meet him again, a chance encounter at one of the charities her organization supports, begins both Malia and Palmer on a journey of understanding oneself and recognizing each other.

I loved the premise of four female friends joining up to create something from the bottom-up. And found Malia an interesting and independent woman of the modern times. However, I can't say I was ok with her all the time; there were times I felt her to be too stuck-up in her ways with no signs of personal growth. Palmer, however, is a much more likable character who is quite charming and intelligent. He can be slow at times about the matters of the heart but I really loved the way his character progresses throughout the story.

I felt the story could have been hastened in certain places and the pacing more tight. And though wearing and slow at times, I did like the journey these two have on their way to each other. And one of the factors I loved the most about the book is the secondary characters who appear throughout the book, namely the principal character's siblings. They made for an interesting bunch. And I might try it out if Malia's friends get a story too; I'm sure the author has some plans there. This book makes for a light and quick romantic read.

So It Goes is the second book in the Twist of Fate series by Jennifer Probst and follows the story of Malia and Palmer. The two of them met in the first book of the series and there is a bit of a set up to their story in that book, but if you've not read it, you can still catch up on what their story up to that point is about.

I enjoyed this book, though I found the pace a tad slow in parts. I loved the banter and the push and pull between Palmer and Malia. Palmer was a great character and I found his patience and understanding towards Malia very endearing. The themes explored in this book were different but handled really well.

Malia ran her own media company have a successful company and the only lacking in her life is that special someone. All She have was many dating disasters instead. She have been dealing with Palmer in handling his company account. He is very demanding and she doesn’t like him. But Palmer developed a huge crush on her despite their business dealing. When Malia told him she moving on to a new area of her company and that she no longer taking care of his company’s account, Palmer tries to find opportunity to stay in contact with her including fake date romance in front of their families. Forced to work together, Malia continue to struggle with her attraction to a man she doesn’t “like”.

This book is a wonderful love story told from dual person perspective that at times pull at my heartstrings. I love Palmer for his vulnerability despite his macho outlook and the chemistry that both Palmer and Malia have. It is not just a love story. It was filled with dilemma especially at the part when Malia decide to go for the fertility treatment.

3.75stars-SO IT GOES is the second instalment in Jennifer Probst’s contemporary, adult TWIST OF FATE erotic romance series focusing on three friends (Chiara, Malia, Tessa) who own Quench, a women’s online magazine. This is thirty-two year old, advertising rep Malia Evergreen, and forty year old,CEO of Endless Vows Bridal Company billionaire Palmer Matterson’s story line. SO IT GOES can be read as a stand-alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Malia and Palmer) SO IT GOES follows the acrimonious relationship between thirty-two year old, advertising rep Malia Evergreen, and forty year old,CEO of Endless Vows Bridal Company billionaire Palmer Matterson. For approximately one year, Quench has been the primary online advertising firm for Palmer Matterson’s Endless Vows Bridal company but the business relationship between Palmer and Malia is tempestuous, at best. For some reason, Malia Evergreen took an instant disliking to our story line hero, a disliking that has affected their relationship going forward. Preconceived notions about the billionaire businessman haven’t set well with Malia Evergreen but when Malia left Quench to work for a non-profit organization, she quickly discovers her first big client is the man the pushes all of her buttons. Forced to work together for a cause, Malia continues to struggle with her attraction to a man she doesn’t like but a man who is about to propose a mutually beneficial arrangement. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Malia and Palmer, and the fall-out as Malia and Palmer want something different going forward.

Malia Evergreen’s attitude is cantankerous and rude. Our heroine wants nothing to do with Palmer Matterson believing he is an arrogant and self-centered businessman out for himself but Malia’s ideas and feelings are not based in fact, and she continues to battle between head and heart, falling for the man who has stolen her heart. Palmer Matterson has lusted after Malia Evergreen since their first meeting together but Malia’s attitude bordered on abusive whenever they were together. Hoping to change her mind, Palmer offers a solution, a fake-relationship for public consumption but a relationship that is about to turn into something more.

The relationship between Malia and Palmer begins acrimoniously as Malia wants nothing to do with our story line hero. Her behavior and demeanor is often immature and childish, and it doesn’t bode well for the man with whom she will fall in love. Malia’s temperament is questionable in the face of preconceived notional and a judgemental attitude; Palmer Matterson wants Malia to give him a chance. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are numerous including several members of the charity organization, and Palmer’s assistants Andrea and Emeril, as well as Palmer and Malia’s extended families. We are reintroduced to Malia’s business partners at Quench, Chiara and Tessa, cafe owner Mike, and high school teacher Emma Primm.

SO IT GOES is a story of family, friendships, and relationships; of determination and independence, of acceptance and love. The premise is engaging and enjoyable; the romance is seductive; the characters are charismatic but desperate-Malia’s temperament and perspective did little to endear her to this reader. Similar to Chiara and Sebastian’s relationship and story, the heroine is difficult to like.

The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Meant to Be (Twist of Fate #1)

This is Malia and Palmer’s story. She told a lie about meeting someone special to keep people off her back. So, when she needs to produce that man, she strikes up a bargain with Palmer. It will be the perfect fake date for a wedding. What she does not know is Palmer wanted a chance with her and now that he has it, he is not willing to let her go after one date. Now feelings are involved can they build a future, or will it all fall apart?

I recommend this story.

Fake relationship/fake dating is one of my favorite tropes!

I'm also a fan of Jennifer Probst's writing so I was excited to dive into this book.

I spent the majority of the book hoping that Malia and Palmer would realize they are meant for each other. I think Malia was a little too stubborn in her insistance that she not date Palmer and it would have been more enjoyable if she was a little more open to it.

It was also hard to understand where her dislike for Palmer came from since we didn't read much about their work together that Malia references.

I will be going back to read the first book and will most likely try the third one as well.

I appreciate how this book portrayed friendships and relationships of adults - Malia is 32 and Palmer is 40. The book emphasized how each character was strong and established in the career and opinions of the future, before and during their 'relationship'. For the most part they had good communication and were willing to grow in the stances for the person they loved. I don't really have anything negative to say. This was a quick and easy read, just enough steam, and great supporting characters

So It Goes is book two in the Twist of Fate series. I found myself happy to reconnect with these friends again after having read book one. This book focuses on Malia, who is a successful businesswoman but feels she is someone lacking personally due to the pressures put on her by her family. She also doesn't feel like they truly understand her at times. For the last year, Malia has been in charge of overseeing advertisements for a hot billionaire in the wedding business, Palmer Matterson. He has made her life a just a tad bit miserable and now she is moving on to help with a non-profit portion of her company and he is having difficulty accepting this because he has been harboring feelings for her.

Much like the first book, there were some things I really liked about this book and things that didn't quite work for me. Because we didn't quite get much of Palmer's antagonistic nature towards Malia and it was all just more of it being told as part of the story before it quickly morphed into him wanting to woo her, it was really difficult to connect with Malia's level of dislike towards him and how much she pushed him away for so long without giving him a chance. He was literally offering himself up to her at every chance and she shot him down so much that it made her character come across as somewhat unlikable, as opposed to what I think the author was probably originally intending. Palmer was extremely patient and understanding and caring about everything. I do like that he hung in there, and that eventually Malia had to work for him a little because he deserved that.

I liked the friendships between the ladies and of course Mike. I think the book was well written and engaging and I did read it in one sitting. I just wish Malia had given Palmer a chance a bit sooner because their dynamic wasn't quite working for me the longer things went on.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Malia and Palmer meet through a business contract. They are attracted to each other, but think the other person hates them. They both have cousins getting married and need a plus one to attend the wedding. They decide to pretend to be dating to keep their families at bay. Will they end up falling for each other?

This is a charming and sometimes spicy story that reels the reader in at the beginning to find out how the story ends. I loved the banter between Malia and Palmer. I found myself laughing out loud a few times.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This is the second book in the Twist of Fate series. It's a fake relationship romance with many twists and turns between Malia and Palmer. They are both against long term relationships so agree to be each others dates for two separate family weddings. Their chemistry is hot but there are many conflicts they need to deal with between them. It was a cute summer read.

I usually love Jennifer Probst's books--she mentions in her author's note that this is her 50th published novel, and I'm sure I've read most of them. But this one just didn't land for me, and it really came down to the fact that I found Palmer completely unsexy. His overly alpha male type personality grated on me to no end, and while he claims that it was an act he put on with Malia in the beginning, I didn't see that--his "real" personality wasn't all that much different or better. This is addressed briefly when he asks Malia if he was too pushy and she says yes, but she also gives him a pass for it in the same breath and it doesn't lead to any noticeable character growth. I'll keep reading everything Probst writes, but this one was far from my favorite.

Career woman, Malia Evergreen, has spent a majority of her time building her company with her friends. Now that she is getting older and her family keeps questioning her relationship status, she has to figure out which steps she wants to take next to find her forever love. Palmer Matterson, the arrogant CEO that Malia has been working with, is a pain in her butt and she is all too happy to be rid of him. Palmer, however, doesn’t seem to want to let her just walk out the door and the arrogant CEO might be just what Malia needs to appease her family’s questions.

Jennifer Probst has a talent for being able to hold my attention with her sweet, contemporary romance novels. The first series that I read by her was the Sunshine Sisters and I really enjoyed the brief mentions of characters from this series in this book. I loved the characters of Malia and Palmer and their slow budding romance. I love anything that is enemies-to-lovers and the added element of fake dating was just a bonus.

I enjoyed this romance story. This is an author that I enjoy reading and can't wait to see what is next for her. This is a well written story about what happens when you give fate and second chances a chance at romance. I enjoyed how the author is able to bring the story to life using details to make me feel as if I was part of the story. The characters are written with heart and brought the story to life. They are connectable and I loved them. I enjoyed their growth and chemistry throughout the story. This is an easy story to read and I found it just as entertaining. I really enjoyed this romance story and I highly recommend it.

2.5 Stars. This was my first read by Jennifer Probst, and I didn't know what to expect. It was probably a me problem, but while it was cute, there was not really anything that made it different or unique from any fake dating books.

Malia and Palmer were two totally different people, but when they don't want any more pestering from their families about going dates or finding the right person, they agreed to fake date and go to these family functions.

I feel like there could have been more development of the love story and the characters. I also feel like Malia made everything so much bigger than what it was. If they would have just talk to each other. 😅

Even though the book was a miss for me, I'll still read other Jennifer Probst's books.

Palmer was annoying and Amelia needed a big shake at times. But, like in real life, you have to stick to it so you can understand what’s happening inside and why they are like that. And I’m glad I have because they both deserved my fully attention and their own happiness. Nobody is perfect but everyone has a right to a second chance or the benefit of the doubt.
An easy to read story with interesting characters, family and friends that are so medley and a romance that is slowly blooming.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley

It took me a bit to get into So It Goes, but honestly that could have been because I was distracted with work things. I adored Malia and really felt her struggle. I thought her entire story dealing with wanting to become a mom, and doing it on her terms was very well done. Palmer comes off a bit brash at fist, but he ultimately won me over. He's just a guy not knowing how to do the right thing for the right girl, and needed some sense knocked into him.

The supportive cast really adds to the story. You have Malia's friends who are featured in this series, plus some others we've met before (read the authors note!). Malia and her friends have such a strong bond and it really shines through when Malia has some tough moments.

So It Goes is a wonderful story of two unlikely people falling in love.

"So It Goes" was a great read. I have to admit, much like Malia, Palmer annoyed me to the high heavens at the beginning. Slowly, but surely, he won me over. I love that they addressed his arrogance and slowly peeled back the layers that made him who he was. I found myself wanting to shake Malia a few time though lol. She had a knack for pushing people away and she surely did with Palmer.

Her friends were such a delight to read about as well. I now have to go back and see if there are centric books revolving around them and their stories. Mike was a handful, but still loveable.

I have to say that I truly enjoyed this read. It was my first time reading anything from Jennifer's catalogue, but it surely wont be my last.

If you love happily ever afters, this book is perfect for you.

I unfortunately did not finish reading this book. I found the main character Mailia very unlikeable and lost interest in finishing the book.

This was my first book by this author and i thought that it was a pretty good debut. Malia came off a little stubborn sometimes and the male mc was a little too perfect. Other than that I thought that the ending was fitting and happy for a HEA!

Thank you netgalley for the arc!
