I found Jennifer Probst in 2018 and have followed her since then. I enjoy her books so much. She writes well with great storylines and wonderful characters. This series has such a different feel to it. It amazes me. These two characters, Palmer and Malia, are both stubborn in their own ways. Palmer stole my heart early on, but Malia took awhile for me to love. I certainly got there! I love the friendship between the characters so much. It warms my heart. I look forward to the next book. I'm hoping Mike and Emma get their own book. For me, they stole the show!

Thank you NetGalley and Valentine PR for the ARC of this book. This is my voluntary and honest review.

So It Goes is the second book in the Twist of Fate series. While it is part of a series, you can read them as standalone books and not have any issues.

Malia Evergreen is one of the owners of Quench, a firm she runs with her two best friends. She, and the company, are all about empowering women and she's a force to be reckoned with in the boardroom.

Palmer Matterson is a billionaire CEO of a wedding planning business, Endless Vows. He's demanding, arrogant and likes things his way. Oh and he's handsome and he definitely knows it.

Both Palmer and Malia are dealing with their families and the fact that they want nothing more for each of them to find "the one". Turns out that they can help one another but will spending time together show them that they really might be more compatible than they could have imagined?

While I enjoyed this book, I have to say Malia's constant denial of Palmer's requests to spend time together weighed on me after a while. I wanted to like Malia more than I did. I enjoy Probst's writing and there is no doubt I'll check out what she has to offer us next.

It's been one bad date after another for Malia, some even making it to the humor section in the Quench magazine she and her friends own together. At 32 and with fertility complications, she's decided to freeze her eggs to give herself more time to find the future she wants with the right man. That man is definitely not Palmer, a client of the magazine. A man she's been forced into weekly contact with a his advertising rep. A man she's admittedly attracted to, but not her type and determinedly single and childless. A man that, as her last resort, agrees to be her date to a wedding as long as she does the same for him. The catch... it has to look genuine.
I liked the first book in the series a lot better than this one, but it was still good. Palmer was such a sweet and charming man, so unlike the bosshole CEO she assumed him to be. His persistence should have come off stalkery, but was actually kind of adorable. My problem was feeling any kind of connection with Malia. She just came off cold and emotionless most of the time. The interfering families were hilarious though and I also loved the scenes with Mike and Emma. I'm looking forward to reading about firy Tessa and I'm assuming Ryder's friend Ford.
I received an advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Another solid instalment in this series. The two main characters (Malia and Palmer) were both well developed, and I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other better as they spent time together to get their families off their backs about their single status (also, the families were great and added some lighthearted entertainment). Very excited that we have Tessa's book set up now, and will be looking forward to that!

A connection of heart that is deep enough to swim in and hard to walk away from. So it Goes is a haunting tale of yearning that gets under the skin. Palmer and Malia are a revelation. From emotional to soulful, there is no turning back. Probst puts the soul on notice and walks away owning your heart.

This is the second book in the Twist of Fate series, I did read the first book and really liked it (four stars rated). This one missed the mark for me, unfortunately.

It is definitely an enemies to lovers story, and maybe its just me, but I caught a sense of Christian Grey in Palmer's character. The manipulative side, not the other part!! Malia kept refusing his attentions, even though she did feel an attraction, but she was resistant. Palmer kept changing up his approach and forcing Malia into uncomfortable situations just to be in her company. Once or twice is ok, but more than that and it gets a little creepy.

I think if you can get past the manipulation and somewhat immature behavior on Malia's part you'll enjoy watching their relationship grow. I will read other books in this series, I'm not counting out this author who I've enjoyed in the past.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

I loved this book by Jennifer Probst! I didn't realize it was book 2, but I was able to catch up and really get involved and wish Malia Evergreen would be my friend and I could be a part of Quench! I loved the back and forth between Malia and CEO Palmer Matterson and how they really just came together. I loved how involved Palmer got with the change Malia made in her career path. I would highly recommend this to everyone who needs a happy story and to cheer for the characters!

Thank you Jennifer Probst and Net Galley for allowing me an arc to read and review!

So it Goes is book two in the Twist of Fate Series and its Malia Evergreen and Palmer Matterson’s fake to real romance. It took me a while to get into this story but I’m so glad I persevered because as the story unfolded I became engrossed in this couples journey.
When Malia needs a date for a wedding because she has told everyone she is dating and she has run out of options she turns to her ex client Palmer. She never dreamed he would actually say yes but he also needs some help so it seems this fake dating may just work out for both of them. Problem is what happens when they really get to know each other, what happens when guards are let down and feelings come into play, can fake become real….one click to find out.
This is a entertaining, heartwarming romance, it has some witty banter and it’s full of love, add in the great characters and you get a great read.

Jennifer Probst has done it again! I absolutely loved So It Goes by Jennifer Probst, it is an incredible love story, and is the second book in her Twist of Fate series. It is a wonderfully written love story. Jennifer Probst has shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put it down and loved every moment on every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Jennifer Probst did an incredible job of allowing readers to get inside the characters minds, discovering their insecurities, vulnerabilities, passions, fears, and feelings. So It Goes is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that pull at my heartstrings causing me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. So It Goes is filled with such moments, and so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Jennifer Probst love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. My favorite part is how Jennifer Probst incorporates the title of the book into the love story with a simple statement by Palmer. So It Goes is the story of Malia Evergreen, Advertising Direct of Quench, a digital empire serving women in all aspects of their lives and Palmer Matterson, CEO, and owner of Endless Vows Bridal Agency, a multimillion-dollar wedding empire. Malia is transitioning away from her role as advertising director of Quench and will be working for the newly formed Quench Foundation. Palmer has always rubbed Malia the wrong way during the monthly advertising meetings, and Palmer is disappointed that Malia would no longer be managing the Endless Vows Bridal Agency account. Malia is unaware that Palmer has a crush on her. In her new role at the foundation, Malia’s first charity is the Children’s Hunger Initiative. Unbeknownst to Malia, on the day of her initial meeting the owners of the charity, Palmer is there volunteering. Palmer decides that he wants to donate to the Children’s Hunger Initiative. As Malia and Palmer spend time together things change between them. As they spend more time together, they realize how much they have in common and share secrets that they have not shared with anyone before and realize they may have something more. Palmer and Malia agree to be each other’s plus one at the upcoming weddings of each of their cousins. Palmer knows how Malia feels about love, family (freezing her eggs) and a happily ever after, which is the opposite of his hopes. Jennifer Probst did an extraordinary job of describing the process women go through to freeze their eggs, it was one of my favorite parts of the story. I love that both Palmer and Malia were both so vulnerable with each other. I love the chemistry between Malia and Palmer. I love when Palmer tells Malia how much he loves when she calls him Palmer. I love that Malia changes because of Palmer’s love for her. I loved that So It Goes is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Malia and Palmer are facing that need resolved. I love the characters and the family dynamic in So It Goes, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Malia, Chiara, and Tessa, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love all the descriptions of the setting that Jennifer Probst details, it makes me want to visit. My favorite part of the book is the epilogue, I absolutely love how it goes above and beyond the happily ever after, I love Palmer’s proposal. So It Goes is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I love in my favorite love stories. I love the cast of characters in, So It Goes and loved catching up with Chiara, Ryder, and Tessa. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed So It Goes, who does not love a beautifully written love story? Cannot wait to read Tessa’s twist of fate. Highly recommend So It Goes.

I wish this had been better developed.

I think the author was trying to make us love Palmer based on his undying devotion to Malia, but he came across as narcissistic, controlling, and unwilling to take "no" for an answer. Throughout their interactions, he love-bombs her, gaslights her, ambushes her, tells her that what she wants is the exact opposite of what she's telling him she wants, and even goes so far as to charm her friends into joining his cause and they not-at-all-subtly use peer pressure on her to get her to agree to date him. Some friends.

I really loved the first book and so I really wanted to like this one, but I just couldn't get past the feeling that Malia only gave into Palmer because she started believing him and her friends when they told her she couldn't do any better. In real life, Palmer isn't the kind of guy to stick around once he's got what he was chasing. But this is fiction, so we'll celebrate their HEA and hope the next book is better. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

So It Goes returns readers to the girls of Quench best friends Malia, Tessa and Chiara. Who after suffering the loss of their fourth friend Rory have bounced back and continued to make a success of Quench and Chiara has even found happiness with Ryder.

Now it's Malia's turn but she's a headstrong woman who knows what she wants and after seeing Chiara settle down and her sisters too. She's starting to feel like it's never gonna happen and her ultimate goal in life is to be a wife and mother.

Enter Palmer her nemesis when it comes to business he's cut throat and arrogant and drives her crazy. And vice versa. But he also makes her panties wet. Yet, he doesn't want a happy ever after even though his family think at thirty-five he needs to settle down.

So, the pair agree to fake date to get their families of their backs. But Malia also has a plan to ensure her goal of motherhood is achieved and nothing is stopping that. Not even the sexy Palmer.

Yet, the more time they spend together the more feelings appear. Even though their goals are the opposite. But are they really as opposite as they once thought?

And with a well written charming romance, little angst, and lots of friendship feels. This was a delightful read, and it also happens to be Ms Probst's fiftieth published book. So look out for some familiar faces. But don't worry if you're a newbie like me as they're listed at the end!

The fake date trope is one of my faves and told in dual POV was the cherry on top. I liked that Malia was a strong, independent woman who could go toe-to-toe with an arrogant alpha boss. The goal orientated, demanding Palmer was swoon worthy. I liked his softer side to balance out his hyper masculinity. While I could empathise with Malia’s need for a child, I grew tired of her stubbornness to not let Palmer into her life. Her reasonings, both as inner reflections and discussions with her friends, seem to go on and on. I ended up skimming the last third of the book because of this.

Reviewed on behalf of Verve Romance

With a heartfelt story and strong female friendships at its core, So It Goes is a romance that comes complete with banter, lust, a shade of instalove, and an ending that left a smile on my face.

Jennifer Probst gives readers a taste of sweet and sexy as a secretly soft billionaire and a take-charge businesswoman go head-to-head in what can only be described as an unputdownable enemies-to-lovers romance. It was a surprisingly easy and enjoyable read, and from the first page, I wanted to keep reading. So, I did.

I might not have read the first book in the Twist of Fate series (even though I grabbed it . . . can I admit I was scared of the potential for angst? Will you think less of me?), but that didn’t stop me from falling right into the story. I quickly picked up on what I might’ve missed from skipping Meant to Be, and from there, watching Malia and Palmer go back and forth was pretty addicting. I will admit to needing some time to warm up to Malia, but since I had the benefit of knowing Palmer’s side of the story . . . well, it’s probably understandable that I was able to forgive and root for him faster than she did. Right?

This book takes the time to explore the idea of fertility, choice, and ticking biological clocks, as well as a man’s understanding of what women want, need, and deserve. It could have been a storyline that bogged down the book, but instead, it added dimension to these characters, making it that much simpler to simply fall in love alongside them.

Palmer’s relationship with his sisters and the lessons he learned from that made him one extremely endearing billionaire—if perhaps a little pushy at times*—and I was riding the high of this feel-good romance long after I reached The End.

*I confess, I feel like his persistence should bother me more than it did, but my inner feminist seems to get a little giddy at the idea of being irresistible to a silver fox, I guess.

This was cute. Good story and fun characters with the perfect amount of dynamic chemistry. Loved the more serious topics involved, such as fertility issues and egg freezing, non-profits, and interracial couples. Also themes of friendship, family, and career. There were some awkward parts that I didn't love. I hate when couples refer to each other as king/queen, which is totally a preference thing which you might love. The FMC was extremely guarded, which I don't always connect with. At times, I feel like the overwhelming family trope was also overplayed (I say this as someone with an extremely overbearing family, lol).

Overall, a good read! I recommend if you want something quick and a bit spicy!

3.5 stars

I am a huge fan of this author. I know that going into one of her books I am going to get a unique take on romance. She always manages to create a story that has her flare and makes it different. The blurb of this story had me excited to see how she was going to put her spin on it. Sadly, this book didn't meet my expectations. I struggled for the first bit of the book, often setting it down for a couple of days before I would pick it back up and start again. That isn't like me when it comes to this author.

For whatever reason, I struggled with the characters, both, individually and together. Malia and Palmer never really leapt off the pages or tugged at my heartstrings. Everything just seemed so natural. Their romance seemed more like settling than actually being with one's soulmate.

That being said, I did like that the author touched up a certain topic and how that affects people experiencing it. That is one of my favorite things about the stories that she writes. While this book might not have been my favorite, I am rounding it up to four stars because once I did get past the first portion of the book, I did become invested to see how the story would turn out and the path it would take to get there.

Absolutely fantastic story! Not your typical billionaire story.Malia is a strong fiery woman who can’t stand her client because he challenges her everyday. But once she announces she is leaving her current role for a new position at a their charity, Palmer knows he has messed up. Now he must figure out how to get her to get to know the real him!
Thank you netgalley for complimentary copy. Sweet love story.

Another incredible read by Jennifer Probst. A couple who is totally opposite in where they see life taking them. Malia has not had luck in the romance/relationship department in her life. Now she is taking matters in her own hands. She has decided to freeze her eggs and not wait to find the man she is supposed to spend the rest of her life with and start a family. Palmer wants nothing to do with marriage or kids. They are both very close to their families. Palmer’s sisters and mom want him to settle down, get married and start a family and they are not shy in voicing their opinions. They see right through his attempts with the women he brings to family functions. For his cousin’s wedding he decides to ask Malia. He is very attracted to her and would like to see more of her. Malia also need a plus one for her a family member’s wedding for no other reason but to get her family off her back.
Attending these two weddings Palmer and Malia realize that they actually enjoy each other’s company. Palmer wants to continue seeing Malia. He understands what she is facing with the fertility treatments, and he wants to be there for her, even if just a friend although he would like more.
He is not looking for forever, he just wants to live day to day and enjoy what life brings him. But the more time he spends with Malia the more Malia sees how different they see their futures. How can she allow her feelings to grow for him knowing he doesn’t want a future with her. But sometimes life has a way of changes your plans and your course changes.
Palmer is very supportive of Malia and what she is going through. He wants to be there for her. But will it bring him and his feelings closer to her and make him change how he sees his future or will it have him running for the hills.
I truly enjoy every one of Jennifer Probst’s books. I love how she includes past characters even if just for a cameo appearance. Seeing Malia and Palmer’s relationship grow is what had me glued to every word. I could not put this story down. A 5-star read indeed.

So It Goes is Jennifer Probst's in the Twist of Fate series. I was ecstatic when offered the opportunity to read it in advance. I've heard raving reviews about her stories and her writing, so it felt special for her 50th book to be my first.

Malia Evergreen has made a name for herself and Quench, the company she runs with her two best friends. She embodies their philosophy of empowering women. She is fierce in business meetings and has no issues dealing with clients, even when they are demanding and annoying, as Palmer Matterson, billionaire and CEO of a wedding planning empire in NYC.

She is all put together and strong but feels something is missing in her life. She wants to be a mother and have a family of her own. Malia is tired of waiting for "the one," so she decides to pursue fertility treatments. She also steps down from running her company's sales department as moves into the newly launched Quench foundation.

This means not dealing with arrogant Palmer anymore. And he doesn't like it because he has been attracted to her since they started doing business together. Her work announcement coincides with him deciding it's time to date her. Palmer is determined to pursue and show her he wants a relationship and that he is different than what she thinks.

And he tries, and tries, and tries. He is swoony, patient, and deeply understands Malia. But she is stubborn. And midway into the book, I just couldn't stand her. I understood her reasoning, but it became too much. Even when she saw the real him, she was still set in her ways. So, while the writing was impeccable, So It Goes wasn't the book for me.

Even if it's well written I felt the romance was a bit forced and the story fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
