Thank you to Montlake Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC!

I've heard good things about Jennifer Probst romances so I decided to request this one on NetGalley. The premise of the book was good, however the characters fell flat for me. Their romance felt a little off and kind of forced to me and I didn't feel connected to either of the characters. Too much time was spent on the build up of getting Malia to go on the date and that plot point went on long enough that I began to get tired of it. I did like the inclusion of Malia's fertility treatments and the emotions she felt surrounding that. That subplot felt timely and relevant to me. I would definitely try another Jennifer Probst book, but this one overall did not do it for me.

I really liked Probst's The Wedding Bargain so I had high hopes for this book. I don't tend to have a problem with "enemies to lovers" books but in this case it wasn't really enemies, as Palmer had been interested in Malia the entire time, but she disliked him. Then her friends pushed them together and he was just *around* and in my mind pressuring her to date him. Just not my cup of tea. If they had been more like enemies or if they had gotten together in such a way that wasn't orchestrated by Palmer I would have been able to stomach this book, but in the end I just couldn't stand it.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley, the publisher and the author and am giving an unbiased review.

This is the first Jennifer Probst book that I was pretty disappointed with. Palmer is a dominant male who falls in love with Malia. There isn't much backstory here. Just that they work together and all of a sudden, he wants her. He uncomfortably pursues her throughout the story with his masculinity at full force. And throw in two weddings where they have to be fake boyfriend and girlfriend - ehhh, seen that storyline way too many times in other books. Honestly, this was not her best or most original work.

Malia is looking forward to starting a new position in the company she and her friends began and not having to deal with a difficult CEO, Palmer Matterson . However, when they begin to get to know each other, they find the chemistry between them is hot and can’t be avoided. I loved the family connection in this story and Palmer seems to be the perfect book boyfriend. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait for the next one in this series (although they are not dependent on each other).

It felt like a lot of the books I’ve already read. I loved that the main character Malia is a person of color, it made it easier to connect with her.

From the opening paragraphs in So It Goes by Jennifer Probst, the dialogue snaps and sparkles. It was a total treat to read the give and take banter between ad rep Malia Evergreen and CEO Palmer Matterson. Malia has worked closely with Palmer for a year, providing advertising support and direction for his multifaceted bridal business. All this time, Malia has thought of Palmer as an egotistical and arrogant jerk; she is beyond happy to sever ties with him and will not miss their routine meetings. Palmer, on the other hand, has been attracted to Malia from day one and has used these meetings to be in her presence but going out of his way to personify the arrogant male that she thought him to be. As she tells him his account will be handled by another rep, he realizes that he has been too diligent in his efforts to make the wrong impression. How can he fix this situation and make her see the real Palmer? Ms. Probst does an amazing job making both characters likable and relatable. Malia is in her thirties and would like to have children sooner rather than later and grapples with issues with infertility. As she comes to appreciate the generous, funny and kind man Palmer truly is, she sees him as a worthy partner but knows that he is not ready to settle down and have children even as her biological clock ticks away. The author uses some familiar tropes (enemies to lovers, fake relationship) but in her more than capable hands the tropes structure the narrative without overshadowing the emotional impact of what develops into a shimmering love story! This story is book two in the Twist of Fate series and I expect we will be blessed with Tessa’s love story soon (I hope).
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC for an honest opinion!

Loved it. We sat in on the fights, tension and frustrations of Palmer and Malia. They have to work together and when there is an opportunity for them not to, it hits Palmer hard. He tries to batter down Malia’s walls and almost does it whilst remaining true to himself. There is some great sideline action from the many many siblings of Malia and Palmer as well as the work associates. A book you want to fall into and live alongside the characters for a while.

A really quick, enjoyable read featuring similarities to the enemies to lovers trope without all the hate. I love, love, love when you meet two characters in a story who are clearly attracted to each other but take a little time to act on it. Enter Palmer and Malia. It has to be written well for that tension to come across and have the reader in the edge of their seat and waiting for the tension to finally burst. I got that enjoyment from this story.
This series has been very enjoyable so far, and I very much look forward to seeing what's coming up. I have an inkling for the pairing and I am not disappointed. I feel like it may even take elements of this book to another level.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really wasn’t feeling this book at all. I couldn’t connect with either of the characters and I didn’t exactly buy their romance. So unfortunately this wasn’t for me.

So it Goes is Book 2 in author Jennifer Probst’s Twist of Fate Series. Focusing on the push me pull me relationship between Malia who works for Quench and Palmer, one of the agency’s clients, the story touches upon some significant societal issues as these two spar with each other and try to deny their attraction. Some characters from the first book have significant roles but this reader didn’t feel one needed to have read Meant to Be first to understand. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.

Jennifer Probst is the well-known author of dozens of romance books that I've seen over the years, but have never taken the time to read one of her books. When I saw "So It Goes" available as an ARC on NetGalley, I was excited to try it out. In Probst's latest book, two high-powered business executives find themselves as rivals. Malia and Palmer are both take their work and their rivalry very seriously. However, when they both need dates to family events/weddings, they declare a truce and take each other as their plus one. Sparks being to fly, and they must decide if their rivalry is more important than a potential happily ever after.

I liked parts of this book, but felt it was too similar to other books. I also didn't quite believe in their chemistry. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Fun, light read that also takes in some very real concerns that women have, and i like the setting of the book- the female protagonist's just moved to a new job at a not for profit, and it's interesting to read about her work and the nuances involved. The perfect book to unwind to after a work week.

This book was...okay. It filled my need for a quick romance book, which I was happy about, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I didn't realize until I looked on GoodReads that this was the second book in a series, but you don't need to read the first book before reading this one. It would probably help to get a little more perspective about some of the characters, but it's not necessary for the plot of this story. For me, nothing really stood out about this story, but I think others would enjoy this as a quick and easy romance read. One thing that I did enjoy about this story was how the protagonist showed agency in taking control of her fertility journey! I would give it 2.5 stars, which rounds up to 3.

I love the fake dating trope. My favorite type of story! :) I like Palmer and his confidence. Malia is especially likable after you read more of her background and finds out why she is so insecure. Love their banter... They have terrific chemistry together!

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
