This book is super-informative and brilliantly laid out making it easy for the reader to follow. The author explains how the immune system works, the connection between immunity in the gut and the development of autoimmune conditions, the subsequent chapters tackle the fuel you put into your body (underpinned by the tenet rubbish in, rubbish out) optimised to boost your health and minimise your risk of disease.
The language is clear and easy to follow. The author takes time to explain things, including the latest research but without being overly complicated or technical. I love the food chapters and am trying to eat 30 different plants each week, it was a bit difficult at first as I gravitated towards my usual staples (carrots, brocolli etc) but have found a few new favourites and am blown away by how much difference herbs and spices can make especially when you have a good range and experiment with different flavours.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to boost the quality of their diet and maximise the health benefits of that.

As many of us are fighting the effects of aging and want to take a more active role in a life of better health; this book offers very practical and easy to implement solutions to eating better and having a stronger immunity. This book is informative. Easy to read & helpful. It’s a great book for people to really improve their overall health (through food) and natural immunity.
Wow this book must be the most well explained book on food I have ever read. It looks at the top 100 foods to eat and drink to help prevent illness from the common cold right through to chronic illnesses and even cancer. It explains the science of the item its health benefits how to eat or prepare it. What to look out for when buying it. What illnesses its useful for basically everything you need to know to help improve your health. No fad diets needed. Just choose the food and eat it simple amazing easy to understand advice. I couldn't put it down. This is my new food bible and I will definitely be using it time and time again. From all the books I have been reviewing over the last few years this is the only book I will be rushing out to buy as it will be so much more useful to have the book rather than the digital book. If like me you have chronic illnesses this book will be so useful it has the potential to be life changing. With this advice it will be so easy to incorporate these food into your families diet. I have declared this book my food bible. The holy grail of books I have everything crossed it works out.
Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishers for bringing together all these brilliant facts and information so we can understand what is right for use to eat. And for making it so much easier to understand.

To be honest, I found this book a bit of a slog to get through. Don’t get me wrong it’s filled with great info on the top foods that can help with autoimmune diseases, including what they specifically contain and what effects they can have on your body.
It just wasn’t written in such a way that it grabbed me.

This is a pretty standard book explaining why you need a wide variety of plants (seeds, vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, etc.) and then going by color and highlighting 100 of the most popular and beneficial. There is a color photo and a synopsis of the benefits of each food. I would have liked more information like ways to use them, how much is recommended, etc. but this is a great primer. Especially well suited for those who are new to the benefits of different foods and those who are very visual, as this has big bold photos and a very easy to read format. Three stars for liked it.

I love a good book about food and nutrition so I jumped onto this book with the eagerness of a five year old in a candy store. I loved the information contained in the book and how the author explains about food colors and the benefits found in each vegetable, fruit, seed, oil, and herb. Recommend it. A great resource, fruit and vegetables have never looked so appealing!
This book introduces us to the benefits of eating for our immunity with lots of inspiring and interesting information focusing on immunity, gut health and the connection between them. It then focuses on the foods (including herbs, oils nuts and more).
I love how each food comes with nutritional information (very helpful for the calorie counters among us!) Each food is given an introduction and then sections on 'the science' and 'the fix', so we know the benefits, and I guess can tailor our diet towards our specific dietary requirements / concerns. The photos are beautifully and really make you want to pick up this book and skim through.
This is a book to savour that I will dip in and out of.

This is a great book to keep on hand when wanting to learn more about certain immunity boosters of food. Organized well, with great information. I always love to read about the health benefits of these immune-boosting foods, and this book was exceptionally done.
There is a lot of useful information held in the pages of this book, especially if you are new to the world of nutrition. It is definitely worth a read if you are looking to improve your health.
Within minutes of reading this book, I was hooked. Learning how certain fruits, vegetables and whole foods synergy provides more of an impact was priceless. And chapter 3, the science behind the rainbow was very educational. I have dog eared so many pages and read the book 2x already. Such a valuable nutritional book.
