Revenge is a dish best served cold, as they say. But Jewelann Jordan’s plan for revenge backfires when she leaves her former boyfriend Christian Campbell naked and alone in his hotel bed after their high school reunion. She’s humiliated him and thinks she’s won. She’s wrong. First the texts start. Then the phone calls. And then she comes home to find him sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee with her husband Ken. Ken introduces Christian as the new tenant in their guest house. If things couldn’t get any worse, Christian becomes a friend and mentor to their son Eli, a loner who desperately needs friends. At the same time, Jewelann’s marriage to Ken, never strong, is crumbling. Christian tries to take advantage of this but he’s also involved with Beth, another high school friend with a drinking problem. It sounds like a soap opera and there are elements of that but We Knew All Along is suspenseful, compulsively readable and will keep you guessing until a shocking conclusion. 5 stars.

School reunions – a time to see who got rich, who got fat and who got divorced. Literally fun for all – not. Jewelann Jordan aims to attend her class reunion with the goal of making her old flame regret letting her go all those years ago. Her plan works only too well and the couple end up at a local no tell motel. The problem is that Christian seems to want more than a one night stand; he shows up at her home, seemingly bent on destroying the life she has with her husband and son. It turns out that Christian is far from the white knight she believed him to be, he’s got some seriously dark secrets. This is a disturbing case of “Be careful what you wish for”
