Oh, Jewellann. Hell hath no fury and all that may well be the driving force behind this woman's odd behaviour, but frankly, I found it all rather, well, weird. I didn't warm to any of the characters in the book and while entertaining and maybe great for a plane trip or beach read, this wasn't really my cup of tea.

Two and a half stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for my ARC.

Thank you netgalley for the ARC! A book full of insane twists and very dark secrets in family and marriage. My favorite thing about the novel were some of the powerful lines, especially the ones used to finish chapters. Here are some examples….
“But it’s a lie. I am not real. I am a doll, a puppet dancing ferociously from the pull of its strings. I am an empty space contained within the shape of a woman, sealed up with an ever-present smile.”

“Once again I’m reminded of how I’ve trapped myself here. In this house. In This marriage. This life. A rat will chew off its own leg to get free. What will I do?”

Jewel was not a character I could root for, so I did not finish the book We Knew All Along.
Thanks anyway for the arc.

This book caught me by surprise. It seemed like your typical domestic fiction of unfulfilled housewife who lusts after her high school crush (who might be up to no good), but it reveals something more. Finally an unpredictable thriller with fleshed-out characters. The title really fits the novel in more ways than one. Give this to fans of B.A. Paris and Amanda Robson.

SYNOPSIS: Blame the booze, her shaky marriage, her troubled son, or a thousand other things. Jewelann Jordan has one thing on her mind when she attends her class reunion, and that's making sure her old crush Christian Campbell sees exactly what he lost all those years ago. A late night, a hotel room, a rekindled flame that burns even hotter than it did back then. What could go wrong?

This is a great thrilling summer read. Equal parts mystery, chick-lit, drama, and sexy. The characters were likeable, and the main characters arc was a good one, and complete. I was genuinely surprised with the ending.

I really struggled with this book. Parts of it were intriguing but it gave me so much anxiety. Not in a thriller way - just chaos throughout the whole thing.

Hoarding.
Shopping addiction.
Infidelity.
Drugs.
Financial struggles.
& then a HECK OF A LOT of dark chaos at the end. Literally made me sick to my stomach.

I wouldn’t recommend.

Meh. This has a great synopsis but, it just didn’t come together for me. It’s a fast paced, easy read but, I hated and I mean hated the main character. She was immature and frustrating.

Is it a book about revenge, almost romance, thriller? It feels like it is having an identity crisis.

"We Knew All Along" expertly portrays what it's like to be in a claustrophobic marriage. When we meet Jewelwann Jordan, she's struggling to keep her husband happy, her shopping addiction a secret, and to be there for her son. Her life is upended when a high school reunion brings an old flame back into her life, and suddenly, keeping everything together is nearly impossible. If you're expecting a propulsive thriller right from the start, this isn't that book. The pacing is rather slow in the first half, more of a character study than plot driven writing but 60% in the speed picks up and it's a thrill ride until the end. I wish there had been a little more plot throughout, I found the first half to be a little repetitive at times. Despite that, I still found this book incredibly readable and wanted to see what the plot building to. I found myself rooting for Jewelann, and the ending was satisfying.

Thanks to Net Galley for my advanced copy, all opinions are my own.

This was a pretty good read; it was very fast-paced and kept me interested the whole time. Once I got into the story, it took me maybe 2 hours to finish.

I do have to say that at times it felt more like a romance than a thriller/domestic drama and the ending was a little bit unbelievable and unrealistic, but I didn't mind because I love seeing women win!

Overall, 3.5 stars. The plot twists were predictable, but I was still entertained, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters to me.

I really was looking forward to reading this as I loved the previous book by this author but this book gets a big fat nope from me. I hated all the characters and the ending was not believable. Wish I could say that I liked this.

Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the copy of We Knew All Along. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be my last. I wasn’t initially engaged at what seemed to be a standard spurned-woman-tries-to-get-revenge story. I kept reading because I wanted to see where the story was going and suddenly the book took an unexpected turn. It was totally worth it to read the first two thirds of the book to find out the ending.

I was not a fan of the protagonist in the least. It was depending too much on the "what if" factor of her dynamic with an ex...Was not for me.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Jewelann Jordan is attending her high school reunion, with one plan, to ensure that her old high school flame sees exactly what he has given up on years ago. The one "who got away" years ago is Christian Campbell, a good looking, intelligent, surgical resident. Christian and Jewelann become entangled in a complicated resurgence of their relationship, but with a darker twist as Christian seems intent in ruining the life that Jewelann has created for herself. Jewelann is lonely, drowning in debt, and trapped in a loveless marriage, but she is not prepared nor does she want what Christian brings as he once again enters her life. This book was full of twists and turns and impossible to put down. I highly recommend this book, Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to #NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I was sucked in from the beginning, when protagonist Jewelann reconnects with her high school ex at a reunion, trying to show him what he was missing, in spite (or because) of her lousy marriage. When Christian, her high school love, unexpectedly decides to re-enter her life, the book’s plot grows darker. This book kept me tense in the best possible way as I encountered obstacles and twists alongside Jewelann as she tries to maintain the status quo for her teenaged son. This book was full of surprises, as well as clear and well written.

We knew all along!!!...... Well by then end of it I certainly didn't feel like u knew all along. Its very rare for me to read a book and not have a clue what the characters are up to but thus had me all over the place.
Admittedly I did love the thrill of bored housewife going to high school reunion to show the boy who broke her heart just what he missed out on, haven't we all thought about doing that at some point!
The twists and turns that follow are quite unpredictable though some readers could get frusted with the main character I felt real empathy for her in many of her life dilemmas.
As well as this being part thriller, it's also very emotional.
The ending was shocking and although I think the reader is meant to feel happy for Jewelynn and her son, I felt sadness for them, I guess you can't always have a fairytale ending.
A strong 4 star rating #NetGalley

We Knew All Along by Mina Hardy was a twisted story that kept me entertained. I wasn't a fan of the main character, but the author makes it clear she is a product of her unfortunate circumstances.

I feel like the story had some major twists that I honestly did not see coming. I was shocked, angry, and sad at some times and really sucked into the story from the beginning. If you are looking for a suspenseful read with some twists and turns this is the one for you.

Mina Hardy has written a twisted novel of suspense with WE KNEW ALL ALONG! I loved the drama in this one. It was truly hard to put down!

Things are never as they seem......... I flew through this book, finishing in less than a day. I absolutely loved it! There were so many twists and I didn't see a single one coming. This had everything I look for in a domestic thriller and I audibly gasped and exclaimed "WHAT?" on multiple occasions. The ending wrapped everything up nicely, leaving no questions as to what happened to any of the characters.
