In Maggie Moves On, a celebrity home rehabber falls in love while rehabbing a house. I found the story to be very predictable and it didn't really grab me.
I was given an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I just love Maggie! The romance between her and Silas is so cute! It’s steamy and so fun. I love home improvement shows, so a kick butt female carpenter falling for the handsome landscaper was the perfect story for me. If you need a romcom with steam and a sweet story, check this one out! I cannot wait to read more by this author. Thank you yo NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
I was not able to listen to this title because it archived before I was able to download it. Maybe I'll be able to listen to it in the future.
*Thank you @hachetteaudio for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I could not get into this story and DNF.
Lucy Score can be counted on for funny, steamy romance books with tons of Heart Maggie Moves On is no exception!
This book was excellent. A small-town romance full of fantastic side characters and two wonderful main characters. I loved Silas and his unwavering confidence and determination. Maggie had such an open heart, except when it came to romantic love, and Silas knocked down all those walls. I loved the found family element of this book!
I enjoyed the other storylines woven into the romance as well. The treasure hunt kept the story going and introduced one of my favorite side characters. I am a sucker for an old curmudgeon.
Emma Wilder narrated the book, and she is one of my personal favorites for a reason. She did an outstanding job, and the way she changed her voice to fit the character, sometimes I forgot that she was the only narrator.
Lucy Score has another great one with Maggie Moves On!
Thank you to @netgalley and @readforever for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to @hachetteaudio for a free download of the audiobook.
This was my first book by @scorelucy , and now I have added all her books to my tbr! Maggie Moves On was a story about Maggie, a home renovator with a show on YouTube. She purchases a old manor determined to rehabilitate it. It is the largest job Maggie and her partner Dean have ever taken on. Dean is dropping not so subtle hints that he’s ready to slow down their schedule, but Maggie doesn’t want to hear it….until Silas infiltrates her life. And Cody too.
The length of this book was daunting at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the reading was and couldn’t put it down. I loved how Maggie worked with the town to restore the home and how she grew to love the town. I struggled with how domineering Silas was, but I can also see how Maggie needed to be told to stop. Stop running and look around.

I loved this book. It is fantastic for lovers of the modern romance novel. The narrator was fantastic. Highly recommended.
this was such a sweet rom-com book. this was also my first lucy score book and i have to say that i really enjoyed it. I love HGTV and this books was so cute and also made me laugh we love a dual pov and witty banter. .
My first Lucy Score book, but definitely not my last.
This was a 5 star read for me. It had everything I could ask for in a romance book:
-diverse characters
-diverse family makeup
-open-door steam
-swoony book boyfriend
-great banter
Let's not forget a great doggy character. That was a bonus.
Also - the narration was great!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ALC copy. Maggie Moves On is out now!
I was excited to receive this book, because I saw all the hype in authors fan page... But then I saw that it's an audiobook, not ebook. I'm not a fan of audiobooks, because I need to concentrate on listening, and I'm quicker reader than listener. Overall, the narrator had a great voice, I understood everything, but it was quite long to listen. I had to put on 2x speed. Story was nice, but characters weren't my favourite. It took me long time to finish this book. There was lots of flirty banter and small town scenes, I loved the dog in book and little scenes of falling in love.
I did not enjoy this book. Silas was not a love interest that was enjoyable to read about. Some of his behavior was qustionable. I did not end up finishing it.
I just didn't really like this book. I couldn't connect with the main characters. Silas was over the top and border line creepy with all of his flirting. Maggie was annoying.
I wanted my first book for the month to be something cute, and MAGGIE MOVES ON is just what I hoped it to be! A fun, small-town, love story with a “found family” theme and adorable pets. It’s steamy and sexy, and I’m a big fan of the banter between Maggie and the hot landscaper Silas she hired.
Thank you Forever/ Hachette for the gifted copy for review. I absolutely loved the audio and narrator, Emma Wilder and thought she was the perfect voice to capture Maggie.
I'm normally a big fan of Lucy Score books, so I was very disappointed to not love this one. Overall the storyline is well thought out and the main and secondary cast of characters is great (who doesn't love a soggy sidekick), but I had a couple of issues with Maggie and Silas.
While I really liked Maggie her treatment of her best friend/business partner was a little questionable at times. It's one thing to not want to set down roots and work 24/7, but you can't expect that from other people. Especially when her partner continually tries telling you he wants to slow down and isn't content anymore.
But what really kind of soured the book for me was Silas' behavior in a few instances. The whole time he acts like he's been drinking the Respect-Women-Juice, but when Maggie didn't call him in an emergency (even though they barely knew each other) and she reacted in a reasonable manner, he acted like she was in the wrong. Sure, she accidentally got hurt a little bit, but I really didn't understand why she should have called Silas over it. In my opinion he had no grounds to stand on when it came to being pissy. He just wanted to be the one she depended on immediately and for her to act like he wanted her to. After that I just couldn't get back on Silas good side. Especially because he was a little bit to pushy for my taste, even though Maggie very clearly communicated she didn't want a relationship.
I will say though the I really liked the narration. It fit the story well, without being to dramatic or overwhelming.
It's really not a bad book, just not for me, as I tend to get hung up on details and I couldn't overlook Silas being totally over the top when inserting himself in Maggie's. Otherwise the story does have Lucy Score's usual charm and wit and is definitely hilarious.
I received a copy of this audiobook by NetGalley and voluntarily read and reviewed it. All opinions are my own.
I simply loved this book from beginning to end. It was funny, laughing often with the hero’s antics and banter with Maggie. Great secondary characters, passionate love scenes. I’d like to listen to it again- That’s how much I enjoyed it! Thank you NetGalley
What a delightful story this one was! I loved Silas and how sure he was about Maggie from the very start. I loved the chemistry between the two of them. Kevin was absolutely amazing and when he finds the kittens? Awww!
Maggie Moves On was an absolute pleasure, brilliantly narrated.
The perfect book to loose yourself in for a few hours, Emma Wilder brings the story to life.
As a first time listener/reader of Lucy Score I am excited to see she has quite a backlist for me to enjoy and no doubt some exciting new novels in the future.
I'm officially a Lucy Score fan! I was hooked within the first 7% of the audiobook and then binged the book. It is a lot like a Hallmark movie, but spicy. The social media influencer aspect was fun. I love the trope where the guy falls first. If you are looking for a beach read or a fun spicy romance, I definitely recommend this one.
Content warnings: Estranged family, death of a parent in the past, not fitting in, etc.
This is my first Lucy Score book and I can see why everyone likes them. There is a strong female lead and a charming male lead and a dog. How can you not like a book with a dog as a side character with a personality and everything?
I liked the opposites that they were. Maggie is a YouTube influencer and Silas can barely use his phone for anything other than calls. He has a big and loving family and Maggie is all about the job and less about family and friends. By the end I was rooting for all the characters and hoping we could get a sequel for one of the great supporting characters.
The audiobook is read by Emma Wilder. This is not my first listen of hers and she brings so much to the story that I love her narration. The voices of the characters just draw you in.
I really enjoyed this one! I loved the social media aspect and a hunky landscaper? Sign me up! It had depth and a beautiful love story. Highly recommend
