This book was absolutely adorable! I loved Maggie and Silas' relationship. And don't even get me started on Kevin the dog 🥰
This book made me laugh as well as cry. It is an absolute must read!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Once again the audio quality of the Netgalley app is just absolutely horrible. This book was fun and cool but very similar to books Lucy has written. While I enjoyed the story I was just hoping for something fresher from her.
A house flipping you tube star, like the perfect book for this generation. Absolutely loved the flirty banter, the characters were full of chemistry with a bit of mystery this small town romance just had it all!
This was a fantastic book. I was caught hook line and sinker from the very start. It was such a fantastic story line that I just had to binge read until the end. I loved how the book evolved around flipping houses and showing the progress on social media. Yes it is the romance boy meets girl they fall in love predictability. But the book just sweeps you away on a brilliant heartwarming story. I listened to the audiobook but I didn't quite warm to the narrator. I like her male voices but the main female characters voice just didn't feel right. It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the story it was only a little bug bare that you might not even share. I also must warn you if like me you like to listen without earphones beware of rather open door saucy descriptive scenes.
I have to say I feel in love with every character in this book as there were many unique characters.
I really do recommend this book to everyone who doesn't mind some spice in there romance stories. There was plenty going on in this book to keep your emotions on overdrive.
So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating this stunning feel good story. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this fantastic author.
The above review has already been placed on goodreads, waterstones, Google books, Barnes&noble, kobo, amazon UK where found and my blog https://ladyreading365.wixsite.com/website/post/maggie-moves-on-by-lucy-score-hachette-audio-5-stars either under my name or ladyreading365
This book is a perfect example of why I adore Lucy Score's novels. She is a fantastic story-teller. Her books generally have great banter between the love interests and who doesn't love that?! The cast of supporting characters are people you want to get to know in real life and there's usually one or two that crack you up or you could imagine as your BFF. And darn it, she always brings ALL THE FEELS. I was reading this on a plane and trying to surreptitiously wipe away my tears even though they were tears of pride and happiness. She just sucks you in...all the way in!
This was my first book by Lucy Score and I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook. I loved the small town vibes, the home renovation projects, and the characters. Maggie and Silas had immediate chemistry (at least according to Silas) and I really enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed as Maggie took longer to get to where Silas was at first glance. The side characters were just as charming and I loved the family that was created with all of them. This was a great listen with excellent narration that was sweet, funny, and also steamy.
There are a lot of home renovation / love stories out there and I thought this was the best in that trope! But warning - there is quite a bit of steam, much more than I expected! I also love a good treasure hunt mixed in to add a bit more excitement!
Maggie, a YouTube home renovator is constantly bouncing from project to project, and doesn't have a place to call home. Silas, aka "Hot Landscaper Guy", has a huge personality, and falls fast for Maggie and has some of the best lines to try to get her to relax and open up! They balanced each other quite well and I loved seeing Maggie's progression to feeling a bit more grounded. A few more things I loved in this book: found family, multiple new romances, and the best tag-along dog, Kevin! Maggie's story line with Cody had some of my favorite scenes and I adored their relationship and mentorship. I loved where all the characters ended up, but I did start to lose a bit of steam in the middle as it was quite long.
As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Score's writing and the characters and small town environment she created. I did feel like the book missed some of the charm that I usually get from her independently published books, but I still had an awesome time. The steam is on point and I loved all of the side characters. The addition of a mystery component is the icing on an already stellar cake!
4.5 out of 5 wine glasses
🛠Maggie Moves On 🛠
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (4 Stars)
Steam: 🌶🌶🌶/5 (a few very descriptive steamy scenes)
I used a mix of Ebook and audiobook while reading this one!
Narration: the narrator was good! Did a good job of distinguishing between characters

I really enjoyed this book!! It was a fun Rom Com
This book follows Maggie, a YouTube house renovator and Silas a landscaper, she hires for her most current project. Maggie flips houses and then moves on to another house…but this time she starts getting attached to Silas and the town…
This made for a fun read! If you like HGTV, small towns and steamy romance I think you’ll enjoy this. Plus Kevin the dog! (It’s Kevin’s world and we are just living in it)
I also liked the secondary romance of Silas’ brother Michael and Maggie’s producer Dean, it was cute and a great LGBT couple.
This was hilarious and sweet! I really enjoyed it. My reason for 4 stars is because the middle dragged a small bit. But overall a fun RomCom…with some steamy scenes!
Thanks to Netgalley, Hachette Audio, Forever Publishing for the copy in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this story! ❤️
This is my 2nd Lucy Score book and she is fast becoming a firm favourite.
I loved Silas from the get go. The hunky landscaper was very flirty and persistent but in a really cute way. He was very alpha male at times while still being a total sweetheart. I loved Maggies vibe she was rocking girl power and I was all for it. I adored how the story progressed with the story around the rebuild of the old house and Maggies need to keep moving and not feeling grounded.
The Audio of this was really good although I would have liked it in dual pov. I really liked Emma's voice and her characterisation of Maggie. I would definitely look out for more audios narrated by her. A great story that I couldn't get enough of. Cant wait to see what Lucy has instore next for us
There’s nothing better to listen to while getting unpacked in a new home than a flirty, fun, home-renovation story. I’m not sure why this setting does it for me every single time–maybe it’s just the motivation to get my own home in order?
Overall, Maggie Moves On was just as adorable as the cute cover promises. Maggie was a great MC. She was independent, career-focused, and did her best not to let romance get in the way of her goals…at the start. I adored the storyline with Cody, where Maggie gave the teen some support and guidance that he wasn’t getting at home.
Maggie and Silas had great chemistry and banter, and I enjoyed the extremely steamy sex scenes. The steam was well-written rather than gratuitous, and fit well with the storyline.
Silas was a little harder for me to love. I liked his confident hot-landscaper personality overall, but there were a few things that bothered me about their relationship. Mainly, how controlling he was towards Maggie when they weren’t even really dating. A few scenes showed him in a sort of caveman light, which I wasn’t the biggest fan of. Maggie was supposed to be strong and independent, and it didn’t feel realistic that she would put up with that.
This is a big book, but it’s worth your time. I really enjoyed all of the side-plots: Wallace the stodgy old man, Cody the disadvantaged teen, the treasure hunt aspect, and Maggie’s family drama. It all came together well to give this story a lot of depth.
And of course, I LOVED Kevin the dog and his adopted kitty friends.
The ending seemed a little far-fetched to me, and I think I would have preferred to see it go in a slightly different direction.
Audio Review: Emma Wilder narrated Maggie Moves On. I haven’t listened to any of her previous works, but I thought she was a great fit for these characters and I will certainly look out for more productions by her in the future. I really enjoyed the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, as it really put me in the mood to unpack and decorate my new house.
Small-town romance between a house-flipper and the landscaper -- sign me up.
Of course, the star of the show here was Kevin (the dog), as seen on the cover. Kevin belongs to Silas the landscaper, who meets Maggie when she comes to tiny Kinship, Idaho to restore a mansion. Maggie travels around the country flipping houses with her partner Dean and sharing the progress to her almost 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
This was my first Lucy Score book and it definitely pulled me in. Silas wasn't my favorite romantic lead -- I thought I was into an alpha, but maybe not, as he came on too strong for my taste. At the same time, I was able to look past it because it felt pretty obvious that Maggie was into it (even if I personally wasn't).
The audio narration by Emma Wilder was great and flowed really easily. (I don't know how she managed to voice Silas in addition to Maggie, but she did!)
I particularly liked the ending -- I loved the updates provided for the minor characters I came to care about! I may have even shed a tear or two, out of sheer happiness for them.
Three months - well four - and Maggie Nichols will restore a Victorian mansion, continue to grow her social media presence…and move on. That is what Maggie does. Whether it is flipping houses or providing content for her YouTube channel, Maggie has always excelled. Thinking about her next location is only interrupted by the fact that she finds herself more than drawn to landscaper Silas Wright. He throws a wrench in her plans, pun intended.
Silas is an obvious flirt. He likes Maggie, and he makes no secret of that fact. In fact, Maggie rather likes him as well. But her traveling the country in order to create beautiful homes from their bare bones is where her heart lies. However, it doesn’t take Maggie long to think about things - could she just have a fling with Silas, continue her renovation project, pack up her tools and move on to the next state, or will she start to think of a different future entirely?
There’s another pun. And this comes directly from the publisher’s blurb. Silas manages to “demolish [her] emotional walls.” Will Silas be effective in Maggie thinking about long-range future plans with him, or will the 10-foot high wall between the two of them stay firmly in place?
What a delightful read from start to finish. I loved that Maggie had so much baggage that had to be disassembled all while Silas easily grew on me, proving his innate kindness and wonderful heart. Kevin the dog fit in quite nicely too. This pleasant book by Lucy Score warmed my heart and I definitely recommend it to lovers of romance. This excellent read was made even better by the expert narration of Emma Wilder.
Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio, Forever for the audio-arc!
This was my first book by Lucy Score, so I was very excited to give this one a chance. This rom-com was filled with so many great things: flirty banter & great chemistry, small-town 'Hallmark movie' style romance, interesting family dynamics, and so much more.
What I really loved about this book is that the roles were reversed and it is Silas who falls in love first! I also loved Kevin - give me a dog in any story and they are automatically my favorite character ;)
I did find there were parts where the story seemed to drag and it was hard to keep my interest. Overall though, it was a good listen and I really enjoyed the narration by Emma Wilder.
This was my first Lucy Score novel, and I really really enjoyed it. I thought the story was interesting, had a variety of characters with depth and full personalities, and a plot line that held its own. The story features Silas’ instalove and an immediate connection between the two main characters, but there is still a good amount of build until their romantic relationship. All in all, It was cute and had witty banter. I was laughing a lot throughout. The steamy scenes were very steamy, and the heartfelt ones had me swooning. Outside the central love story, there was an even bigger love story with family. Cody, Dean, and the families, it was so heartwarming and just a feel-good story. I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends looking for a light-hearted, fun, steamy rom-com read! I think the only thing that prevented me from rating this a full five stars was the occasional cringy dialogue, and since I listened to it on audio, I wish there had been a male voice actor for Silas’ POV and the male parts.
Maggie Nichols is a popular YouTube star, known for her incredible house flipping. Her latest work in progress is an old Victorian mansion with a rich history located in a small town in Idaho. One of the locals she hires to help her out is landscaper Silas Wright, who is not only a great landscaper, but is very attractive and oh so flirty. He is determined to make Maggie fall for him and the town and get her to stay in Idaho. However, Maggie has zero interest in putting down those roots when she can continue to travel all over. But as the summer goes on and the physical walls of the house start to go down, so do the emotional walls both Maggie and Silas put up to protect themselves, giving Maggie some tough choices to face for her next steps in life.
I love a good small town romance with quirky side characters and a fun history, and this book had all of those things with a fun HGTV style twist. All of the characters really added to this story and made it so much fun, although my personal favorite had to be Kevin the dog and all of his silly antics. I adored the message of creating your own family and the unique and loving family created between Maggie, Dean and Cody.
I’m usually not a fan of insta-love but for some reason instead of annoying me, Dean’s insta-love made me laugh. His determination to get Maggie to stay in Idaho was so sweet, even if it happened very quickly, and I love that he never wavered on that plan. Also, the chemistry between the two was on fire. They were such a great couple and I was rooting for them from the very beginning.
I thought Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with the narration. I really enjoyed listening to her on the audiobook.
This was my first book by Lucy Score but definitely won’t be my last. Thank you to Hachette Audio for the advance copy.
The audiobook is well done. My main constructive criticism is that for a romance, the audio and book in general feels a tad long.
“I wanna be the one you call, Maggie.”
Maggie Moves On is a sweet, contemporary romance set in a small-town called Kinship, Idaho. It's a story of found-family, taking a leap of faith, mystery and appreciating history.
Maggie Nichols is always moving on. Traveling the country, fixing houses, and filming new content for her YouTube series. This time, she's headed to Idaho to restore a historic home with a lot of potential. She'll make it a perfect home, sell it to someone else, and head on to her next project. She didn't count of falling in love with a man, a house, a story, a town.
“I’ll do things wrong. I’ll get into funks. I’ll argue with you and work too hard. But I will also love you as intensely as I do anything.”
Maggie Moves On was sweet and heartwarming. Full of life lessons and community. It could move slowly in some places and sometimes I didn't understand Maggie. Silas was great. I loved how sure he was that Maggie was the one, and how he admired and pursued her. I enjoyed the book.
I listened to this on audio (narrated by Emma Wilder). It was good to listen on audio, and I felt the narrator did a good job with the other character's voices.
I received an ARC. This is a voluntary, honest review.
What a fun, sexy listen this book turned out to be!
Maggie Nichols is a YouTube/house-flipping sensation! She has a huge following who love to see watch as she brings homes back to life. Kinship, Idaho has been calling to her for years. She has finally found a reason to return. She is going to restore a Victorian Mansion to its former glory. She will need some help and that is when Silas Wright, the local sexy landscaper comes into play. Darlin’ he is hot-to-trot and not bad with animals and greenery.
Their attraction is off the charts and her fans are also won over by the sexy Silas! But Maggie doesn't have time to lay down roots. She has places to be and homes to restore. Well, maybe she has time for a fling, but that's it. Her boots were made for walking and.....
I loved the journey that the characters took in this book. I enjoyed both main characters and the supporting characters as well. This book had charm, some laughs, some angst, some heat, and a loveable service dog drop-out dog named Kevin who is a scene stealer!
I initially loved the Darlin's in this book but soon thought enough already, Silas. We get it. But I forgave him soon enough.
Now, if only I can get a certain Rod Stewart song out of my mind...
Hot, sexy, fun, and engaging! This book was a pleasure to find and knocked me out of my less than exciting books lately.
Thank you to Hachette Audio, Forever and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved this!
It was funny, sweet and surprisingly steamy.
This reminded me a lot of Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey. The heroine is trying to prove herself and the hero is a cinnamon roll trying to help her. The side characters were great too (especially the dog!)
I really liked the narrators they chose for this. They fit the characters and the tone of the story well. Really helped suck me into the story.
Would recommend this to anyone who loves romcoms.
