Narwhal and Jelly have such a sweet and fun friendship. When Jelly wonders why Narwhal is called the unicorn of the sea, narwhal wishes to be a unicorn but jelly isn't so sure about going on land.
What appeared to be another sweet adventure with a wonderful lesson on listening to friends turned into another children's series introducing narwhal with they/them pronouns and confusing lessons such "just because you don't have a horn doesn't mean you aren't a unicorn."
I was so excited to get this book because I had heard so many moms rave about the series but was greatly disappointed.
Narwhal and Jelly are a cute and very popular series for early comic readers. This whole series flies off the shelf at my library! This latest adventure is a fun one for our friends, as they go in search of a land narwhal -- a unicorn. As always, their odd couple friendship is front and center with a culminating message of listening to the needs of your friends.
Narwhalicorn and Jelly is a delightful and charming children's book, and the seventh installment in the popular "Narwhal and Jelly" series by Ben Clanton. The book follows the unlikely friendship between a narwhal and a jellyfish, as they explore the world around them and learn valuable lessons about friendship and individuality.
The illustrations are bright, colorful, and whimsical, perfectly capturing the playful and imaginative tone of the book. The characters are endearing and relatable, and their adventures are sure to captivate and entertain young readers.
I love that these books always have a great message while also being so fun. How great that they all got to be unicorns but also learned about listening to friends.
I've kind of fallen behind in my reading of Ben Clanton's Narwhal and Jelly books. How the heck did we get to #7 already? If you've been hiding under a log or something and don't know about the Narwhal & Jelly books, I'm sad to hear it.
These two best friends have all kinds of wacky adventures, make new friends, teach readers a few related facts, and make you laugh. They are full of hilarious puns and rhymes. Jelly is the straight man to Narwhal's often ludicrous antics.
In this volume, Narwhal wishes on a star and ends up with legs.
Then they end up on a Unicorn planet where they meet all kinds of animals spouting a horn. Soon a party erupts.
Poor Jelly, trapped in a fishbowl, tired and cranky, wishes to go home, and presto, he's back at home in his ocean.
Soon Narwhal realizes he wasn't a good friend and didn't listen to what Narwhal wanted.
The two mend fences and continue to have extraordinary everyday adventures.
I can't wait till I get to read this with my five year old unicorn obsessed granddaughter. She was already a beginning reader when I last visited with her. I'm willing to bet she can read this on her own!
Narwhalicorn and Jelly is the latest installment in the Narwhal and Jelly series by Ben Clanton. These waffle loving friends go on a new adventure when Narwhalicorn makes a wish on a star to be able to walk on land. They travel to the colorful Unicorn Planet and meet a new cast of characters, but this story isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Jelly gets frustrated when they are repeatedly ignored, and Narwhal must discover what it takes to be a good friend. This is a cute graphic novel that will be popular with younger readers while teaching them an important lesson about friendship.
I had a hard time putting this book down. We see Narwhal making a wish, and it surprisingly coming true. This takes Narwhal and Jelly to a magical place, but Jelly just wants to go home. When Narwhal realizes this, they find themselves having to make a tough decision. As this story comes to a close, Narwhal has learned an important lesson.
I enjoy the Narwhal and Jelly books and have read most of the series to date. My kids, who are now older and not the target demographic, still enjoy reading these books and going through them. I know that they are great for early readers because they are very visually appealing. When I worked the book fair at my kids' schools Narwhal always sold out within the first few days and had to be ordered for any of the kids who missed the on hand copies.
All that to say, this was another good addition to the series. And while the lesson was a bit buried, there was still something there beyond just the general fun of Narwhal doing their thing. In this case, it's about learning to listen to your friends and understand that sometimes what is getting you excited isn't what will make them happy and can even be hurtful to them.
The artwork is consistent with the series, so if you like that style, you'll enjoy this book or your kids will.
This was really cute! My daughter loved the story and it was a perfect style for her to read on her own. Narwhal and Jelly books are very fun and silly and kid-approved!
This is a fun adventure!
I absolutely adore the Narwhal and Jelly series.
The classic waffle
Cute dialogue
Sad though that Narwhal left Jelly to go out in the world
I hope the new friends can come visit the ocean someday
I received this and as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for giving me access.
We are a Narwhal and Jelly household and I think that Narwhalicorn and Jelly is our favorite one yet…after all, UNICORNS.
Narwhal and Jelly go on an adventure of epic proportions that bring them new friends. Not only that, it also has a great message that we should listen to our friends and how they feel, instead of ignoring their concerns and feelings.
Narwhal and Jelly are some of my favorite books geared to young readers. I can’t wait to see what they get up to next.
This was another great to addition to this terrific series! I loved the underlying message of making sure we are using our listening ears when our friends are trying to tell us something. The ever overpowering narwhal and slightly sarcastic jelly are always having a fun 🧇 filled adventure. The artwork in this was fun. My son and I liked looking for all the horns on all the corn creatures. We also had fun talking about the different horned creatures from real life the book highlighted. This was a great quick read for my son and I tonight! Family friendly fun I would recommend. He is 6 and I still have to read these for him, but my 10 year old daughter loves this series and can read it by herself (the robocorn was her favorite in this one).
This is adorable as usual. What a great addition to the Narwhal and Jelly series. Made me LOL Narwhal and Jelly never disappoint. There was a good lesson in there too!
'Narwhalicorn and Jelly' with story and art by Ben Clanton is book seven in the fun Narwhal and Jelly series.
Jelly wonders what a unicorn is and Narwhal makes a wish with the help of his friend, Star. What happens next is weird and crazy as only Narwhal and Jelly can be. The only problem is that Narwhal is so busy that he neglects his best friend Jelly.
This series never fails to surprise me with it's imaginative scenarios. And the main characters are such a great couple of friends. Buy this whole series for the young readers in your life.
I have purchased some of the earlier Narwhal and Jelly books for my nephew and he enjoyed the cuteness and humor of them. I read this one to see if it would also be one he may enjoy. The illustrations are adorable and I love all of the "unicorn" animals and the unicorn planet. The plot is age appropriate and there were lessons to be learned. However, I feel that the language was too advanced in this book. There were a lot of puns that would need to be explained to an early elementary reader, which is the age group the stories seem to best fit.
Thank you to #NetGalley for an eARC of #NarwhalicornandJelly #ANarwhalandJellyBook#7 by #BenClanton
My daughter and I loved the newest instalment of Narwhal + Jelly! Narwhal is always looking for an adventure an Jelly has learned to set firm boundaries and express their needs. Awesome.
Narwhalicorn and Jelly (A Narwhal and Jelly Book #7) by Ben Clanton is a very engaging book for young kids to read. I have a younger brother and I would immediately recommend this book to him. A part that I liked is that Narwhal got turn into a narwhaicon and got to meet other animal and robot-icorns. This book is a good book and I recommend this book to young children.

The artwork in these children's books is UNMATCHED. So adorable. I've read and loved the Narwhal & Jelly board books for toddlers and was excited to be introduced to the chapter books for kids! This is book #7 in the series.
Narwhal & Jelly talk about Unicorns, and after wishing upon a star, Narwhal is given legs and the two head ashore together to search for a Unicorn. What they find is different than expected, but very fun. There is also a good lesson about listening to and understanding the needs of others.
This book is a fairly simple read, with a lot of silly puns throughout. As an adult I found it entertaining, and as a kid I'm sure I would have eaten it up. I recommend this as a fun book to read with your kids!
This is my first time reading from this series. I did not enjoy the dialogue at all really. There were instances of "cutesy" word play that made me cringe. Though the illustrations are fantastic and are enjoyable
This story involves Narwhal and his friend Jelly going off on another adventure. This time Narwhal makes a wish that takes them on land and later they find themselves in another planet. Narwhal is always game to try new things while Jelly is comfortable living in their home in the ocean. Even though they view things differently, they learn to understand the other by the end of the story. I would recommend this book for young children.
