Isabella is riding her bike home from school when she is grabbed by a stranger. There were several other kids around her riding their bikes home but none of them got a great look at the offender. Agent Tori Hunter was able to get to the scene quickly and question all the kids, one of the kids happens to be her boyfriends son. He tried to help Isabella but got hurt in the process and was unable to give a good description. Her parents are quite upset and say they have no one in their lives who would hurt them in such a way. Soon a ransom is asked for but the Farner's don't let the police in on the discovery. They were told to not talk to the police and where to drop off the money. Tori figures out that something is going on with the parents and realizes that she can trust them. Follow Tori in her investigation, will she be able to find Isabella before she ends up dead, or is she already dead and just looking for a body? This was the first book of this series that I read, I enjoyed it so much that I've already purchased and read the previous three! I'm already excited for the next one.
Another hit! This one kept me on the edge from beginning to end. I love Tori and Will. This case hit close to home for the couple and was action packed. Several twists kept me guessing. This has become one of my favorite series and this book is a great example of why. Highly recommend!
Book 4 in the Tori Hunter series but you can read as a standalone. It was gripping and compelling. I was kept on the edge of my seat from beginning right to the very end.
Tori Hunter is back! This is book # 4 in the series and although I like this series and will continue to read I felt like this book was a bit on the boring side. Izzy is kidnapped and Tori is on the hunt to find her. Love all the characters in this series but this book was not very thrilling but if you like this series and a good mystery then worth the read!
this is one of those books you can't put down. Keeps you wondering who kidnapped Isabella, this is my first time reading this author. really enjoyed this book.
A well written mystery with some surprising twists. I like seeing how Tori is adjusting to her new life with Will and Quinn. I found the ending unrealistic but this was still good read. I am looking forward to the next installment but I am hoping for more of the crime and police procedural aspects and a bit less of Tori's home life.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture fir this ARC.
Another gripping read in the Agent Tori Hunter series!
I love the character development as this series progresses, can’t wait for the next one.
Book 4 in the Tori Hunter series and it's the best one so far.
I was hooked from the start and devoured it in one sitting as I just couldn't put it down.
It has twists galore to keep you guessing and some really heart warming moments to tug on the heartstrings.
A great 5 star read that I'll recommend to everyone.
WOW!! This book kept me on my toes and eagerly turning pages as fast as I could to see what happened next! Very well written thriller novel. From the first couple of chapters, the storyline is well set. A young girls gets abducted, there's witnesses, but no good descriptions off the suspect, except for the getaway car...The suspect you think seems to fit, doesn't...or maybe it does! This is the authors fourth book, but doesn't look like his last. I'll be sure to pick up another one in hopes its as captivating as this one was! Thank you Netgalley and Bookoture for the ARC.
Missing Angel by Roger Stelljes is the fourth in the Former FBI Agent Tori Hunter series, although she still has a lot of friends in the FBI.
First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Series Background: (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books)
Recently retired FBI Special Agent Tori Hunter finally solved the murder of her twin sister, and she has now returned to her home-town in northern Minnesota. She is living with her boyfriend Chief Detective Will Braddock, who works for the Shepard County Sheriff's Department, and his son Quinn. They currently have an Acting Sheriff, as their friend and mentor Cal Lund has taken early retirement due to an old case that was not handled appropriately. Tori helps out both the police and the FBI as needed.
My Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
When 12-year old Isabella Farmer is kidnapped while riding her bike home from school, Tori and Will take immediate action. Will's son Quinn was riding with Isabella, and suffered bruised ribs and a concussion during the event. They are treating this case as personal.
But trying to figure out why Isabella was taken is going to be difficult, and when everything points to one man, both Tori and Will think something is fishy. Is he being set up? Is the family hiding something?
Meanwhile, Tori is still trying to adjust to her new living arrangements.
My Opinions:
Okay, this may be the end of the series for me. It was good, don't get me wrong, but when either police corruption or drug cartels get involved, my attention starts to wain. (One of those happened in this book). Since this series has always been "iffy" for me, as it lacked excitement, I will have to do some hard thinking whether or not to continue.
Again, I found the writing was good, just a little to lengthy. I think there was an entire chapter on redecorating the house, and too much personal interaction between Tori and Will. Not needed in a crime novel.
Overall, the actual mystery part was good, as was the writing. Although a little slow, the plot was still good. I think the ending was a little unrealistic....but I guess some people need a happy ending.
I realize I will probably be in the minority on this one, but this series just lacks something for me.
Seriously while it didn’t blow me away this is a good book! I didn’t expect the ending and I loved that! I enjoyed the characters Tori and Braddock and their sweet relationship along with their dedication to their job and endless hunt for the bad guy. I didn’t fly through the pages (until 3/4 through) but it kept me interested more so than not. The ending really picked up the pace. Would I read more from this author? Most definitely! And soon! Thank you netgalley and publishers!
Wow the author had his work cut out for him ,but he pulled it off just like he always does especially with the topic he used but he used it in away that draws attention to it , and not away from it ,and it pays it respects to the families that to this day doesn't know wither their missing children are still alive. As for his characters I loved how Tori responded when she thought it had been Quinn that was taking, and how she always seems to put her heart and soul into her case . Just like the others this one was non stopped from the get go and made you ask why was Quinn's friend taking, was it a predator, or was it against her family ,and the more Tori finds out stuff the more things come out in the open. This hole series is a must read.
My thanks to NetGalley for an advanced digital copy of Missing Angel in exchange for an honest review.
Book four of the Toni Hunter series stays true to the main character. Former Special Agent Hunter is making a new life with boyfriend Will Braddock in Minnesota. She left the New York FBI offices as a skilled and successful agent who excelled in her specialized field: missing persons. The slower pace of the Midwest has not slowed her down, however.
The story starts off with a bang and hits close to home as a neighborhood young girl is kidnapped in broad daylight. Tori uses her renowned detective skills and uncanny perception to uncover the culprits. It is a multi- leveled crime involving much more than kidnapping. Interesting and surprising twists ! A BANG, BOOM, POP climax.! Satisfying denouement!
For fans of police procedural crimes, Missing Angel might be a good beach read.
Thank you #NetGalley for the opportunity of an ARC e-book of #MissingAngel by Agent Tori Hunter for my honest opinion.
This is book 4 in a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I've read by this author. I am definitely going to read the other 3 books in the series!
Agent Tori Hunter is a former FBI agent and has partnered with the Shepard County Sheriff's Dept., Her partner, Braddock, Both professional and personal investigate the kidnapping of a 12 year old girl that was taken in broad daylight while she was with Braddock's son Quinn.
From page one until the end is action, twists, turns, secrets. I was completely sucked in and couldn't believe how each plot twisted into so many layers.
I highly recommend this and and this very talented author!
Wooooow! This book is just utterly all encompassing and completely engrossing! I loved the overall premise of the blurb so was keen to get started but nothing prepared me for that sheer whirlwind of drama and suspense. It's so much more than just a thriller or a mystery or crime story, it's multidimensional with so many twists and turns that it just had me blown away. I read a lot of thrillers but very few have this faced paced, completely captivating feel to them. The characters were all so well written and easy to picture in your mind. It's not the most realistic but that's why it's a fiction book!!! Absolutely amazing! I couldnt recommend enough
Missing Angel returns readers to Manchester Bay and the fantastic Agent Tori Hunter series for an unputdownable and at times nail biting read.
As Tori and Braddock investigate a case that hits extremely close to home when twelve-year-old Isabella Farner is brazenly kidnapped in front of witnesses including Braddock's son Quinn and his cousin Peter; and even though there are witnesses the team soon find they have little to go on. That is until they get a tip from an old friend.
And with one big twist after another. Not to mention shoot outs galore and a desperate dash to try and rescue two more missing children this is a gripping read.
That not only had me guessing but on the edge-of-my-seat, and I can't wait to find out what these two characters will be investigating next.
I would happily recommend.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Missing Angel, the fourth novel to feature former FBI Agent turned consultant to Manchester Bay, Minnesota PD Tori Hunter.
12 year old Isabella Farner is kidnapped in broad daylight from a local park by a man who was last seen throwing her into a van and driving off. Quinn Braddock, the son of Tori’s partner, Will, was injured at the scene and this gives added impetus to the investigation. The main issue is trying to establish a motive when Isabella’s parents are adamant that they have a happy life and no enemies. Tori isn’t so sure about that.
I have some personal issues that are distracting me from my reading and affecting my concentration, so it was a surprise to me that I kept reading Missing Angel and felt it luring me back when I had to put it down. For that reason I have rated it at 5*, thinking that it must be an excellent page turner to pull me out of my problems.
The author does a good job of inviting the reader in with the original premise. Nothing seems quite right about the kidnapping and it may have happened a couple of times before so that’s the start of the mystery and it makes the reader want more information and understanding. These come in dribs and drabs until the situation becomes clear and that’s when it really kicks off with several amazing twists that will take your breath away. Ok, they probably aren’t very realistic but they’re certainly entertaining. Throw in a few gunfights, a few dead bodies and a heartwarming ending and it really is an absorbing read.
Tori and her partner Will seem to be nesting, in that they’re in love and looking at a home extension to cement their living arrangements. Yes, it’s a bit soppy but it doesn’t stop them stepping up to the investigative plate. I like the idea of happy detectives and it seems to make the narrative flow.
Missing Angel is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.
Roger Stelljes throws Tori Hunter into a missing persons case that hits very close to home. Braddock's son, Quinn, is trying to get up the nerve to ask Isabella (the girl he likes) to a party as they ride their bikes home. He's interrupted, and injured, when Isabella is kidnapped... nothing he or his buddies can do. Braddock and Tori get on the scene and vow to help return Isabella to her family. In Missing Angel, Tori is really pushed to her limits as an investigator, partner, and special person to Quinn. With lots of twists, and some very interesting characters, this book should not be missed! Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader copy of this book - this review is entirely my own.
So pleased to have been allowed another Tori Hunter book. It follows on from the last book but doesn't matter if you haven't read the other books in the series. When another child goes missing Tori and her partner are soon hot on the trail. Is it a stranger or someone they know or even worse a member of the family. No ransom demanded which means time is running out fast. All will be revealed with a riverting ending.
Missing Angel is the fourth book in the Agent Tori Hunter series. I have read the previous books in the series and have loved them all! Here, Tori is tasked to find a kidnapped 12 year old girl. With no real evidence or suspects, Tori and her partner Will have a tough road ahead of them, especially when two seemingly unrelated murders take the team's time and attention away from the kidnapping. This was a fast moving thrilling ride! The characters are great, the story line exciting and twist and turns are abundant. Love love love this series!
