"My Husband's Secrets" by Louise Sharland is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the murky depths of grief and the unsettling revelations it can unearth. Following a tragic car accident, Ali is left to piece together the fragments of her late husband Matthew's hidden life, confronting the painful truth about how well she truly knew him. Sharland masterfully keeps readers on edge as Ali grapples with the haunting suspicion that Matthew's presence lingers in more ways than one.

My thoughts: I found the book to be just okay, as I struggled to become invested in the characters or the story. The characters felt somewhat flat to me, and the overall narrative lacked the depth and excitement I was hoping for.

Wonderfully done thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat for most of the book. Loved the well planned twists and turns in the pages.

Oh my, this book was insane! I loved the premise that on their wedding anniversary, our main character’s husband dies in a car accident. It’s tragic, sure, but then secrets and information start coming out that make Ali wonder who her husband really was and if she really knew him at all. Loved this quick read!!

This one kept me going. Was her husband really dead? Or not, as she insisted? Who could she trust? Her best friend? Daughter? Or did she herself do something g sinister that she couldn’t remember due to retrograde amnesia from the accident. My favorite character was her brother, and if a movie were ever to be made of this novel I hope his role is really developed!

I had a hard time with this one - I felt that all of the secrets surrounding Matthew kind of just led to nothing. I didn't love the ending so I had a hard time loving the rest of the book. I thought that Ali was a weak character and I would have liked her and her daughter to have a bit more development as well as Matthew and Alis relationship. I felt like this was just a bit all over the place.

Do we really know the ones closest to us? Ali was involved in a car accident that killed her husband, at least we are led to believe he died in the horrific crash. But no body was found. As the book progresses we learn that Matthew, her husband, was not the perfect guy that he portrayed him self to be. Fans of domestic fiction and psychological suspense will enjoy this book. I received an ARC of this book from Harper 360 via NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback. I once again have mixed feelings as I write this review. The book definitely kept my attention and I was eager to find out what would happen next. However, there were a lot of unnecessary and repetitive details. This seems to be an new technique to confuse the reader and not make is suspicious of anyone, but I am not a fan. It makes the reveal totally anti-climactic, like "I went through all this for THAT ending?" I also think some of these characters were really dumb, namely one who saw a picture of her husband hooking up with someone else yet confused him with another character. Really, who would not recognize their own husband even from the back? Disappointing conclusion - epilogue was pointless.

However, I would read this author again as I think she has potential and I do appreciate when I want to race through a book.

This one wasn't really for me, it read more like a domestic suspense and unfortunately, those go one of 2 ways for me, and this one was just okay.

This was a great book. I loved every paragraph, every sentence and every word of this masterpiece! I read it in 12 hours, which is a lot for me to do! It had everything and more laid out in the novel! I sure hope she writes more! I am totally hooked!

Thank you for the opportunity in exchange for my honest feedback. This book was a DNF for me. I don't know if it was because it was too wordy for me or if I was in a reading slump and lost interest quickly. The beginning of the book drew me in and I couldn't put it down. Then it became too wordy and I found myself skimming the pages instead of actually reading. I decided to DNF this book and maybe pick it back up at a later date.

The premise and prologue was great and some initial suspense in the beginning of the book. The reveals were so-so and predictable. There are many "suspense/thriller books" already written available that start with an accident and there is a missing loved one/spouse. Are they really did dead or is there a secret life? Slowly there are reveals that there is, in fact a secret life. Oh, the horror. Oh, the shame? How could she/he done this to me? Woe is me!

That is what this book was like for me and I found myself skim-reading this for juicy parts rather than really enjoying it. Maybe other readers will like this more than me, but it was a miss for me. Therefore, I cannot recommend it.

Thanks to Netgalley, Louise Sharland and Harper 360 Avon for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ali and Matthew are leaving their anniversary party. Ali is convinced Matthew is too drunk to drive but he does a mini sobriety test, assuring her he’s fine. They’re squabbling in the car and crash into the water.

2 months later, Ali is attempting to go back to the crash site to leave some flowers for Michael’s birthday. Ali was injured in the crash and has only been out of rehabilitation for 6 weeks, but Matthew's body was never found.

She doesn’t remember much from that night besides burnt rubber and screams. It’s all a blur. Retrograde amnesia, the doctor says.

Whether or not Matthew is dead is disputed. Ali thinks he’s still alive out there and most think he’s dead. They were a power couple so conspiracies abound on the internet.

Ali blames climate change for the storm they crashed in, not the fact that they’re fat stinking drunks who could’ve killed an innocent person. Aside from all the external factors she blames, Ali can’t help but blame herself!

Anyway, things are getting weird. We find out there are things of Matthew's missing from the home and that her daughter(not his) was fighting with him earlier in the night. Ali uncovers a trail of financial lies and less than savory business dealings but we still don’t know what this has to do with his disappearance, if anything.

This was about whether or not the guy was alive somewhere but mostly it was about his financial situation, mortgages and estate and they went into great detail which was a bit boring. Also it didn’t translate over to the US well because there were social customs I just hadn’t heard of so a lot of it didn’t make sense to me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review!

A terrible car crash left Ali with some amnesia and a widow once again. But she’s not convinced Matthew is truly dead.
Then she discovers some inconsistencies within her company. As she sorts deeper into the mire, just who cam she actually trusted.
I thought Ali was extremely gullible and dark too trusting. I loved the tile of her father when she approached him for answers.
Some of the story was convoluted and easy to get lost in, but it’s a worthwhile read.

3.5*
You know you've read a lot of books when you feel like you've read this before. I did enjoy it because I wanted to know what would become of the characters and what secrets would be revealed. Ali and Matthew are involved in a fatal car crash after a night of drinking. Ali was seriously injured and Matthew's body cannot be found. When odd things begin to disappear around the house, she is convinced he is alive. She visualizes him and senses his presence in everyone she meets on the streets.

Auditors detect Ali's company that she had invested her life into has been tampered with. Secrets are revealed leaving a painful trail of confessions from friends and even her own daughter. Her husband was not who she thought. I enjoyed her hunt for evidence and sleuthing that bumped it up to a 3.5. The writing was great and kept me involved until the end. Although the ending was a surprise when I thought it would go a different route.

The prologue was sooooooo good. I was hooked and then whomp whomp...it just went downhill from there unfortunately.. The characters were awful and the story being told got so repetitive. And the ending was so anticlimactic.

What really happened the night of their wedding anniversary? Ali survives a horrific car crash to discover her husband Matthew is missing and presumed dead. My Husband’s Secrets is a psychological thriller filled with secrets, lies, and betrayals.

As Ari recovers from the tragic accident, the circumstances surrounding her husband’s past slowly unravel. Her company and relationships with friends and family are at stake. Nothing is as it seems, and Ali must determine who’s telling the truth.

Author Louise Sharland creates a twisty plot with great dialog and questionable characters who don’t always have Ali’s interests at heart. I thank NetGalley for letting me read and review My Husband’s Secrets. #NetGalley #MyHusband’sSecrets #thriller

Just finished reading "My Husband's Secrets" by Louise Sharland. I enjoyed the book however, it took too long before it got to the point where it really got good and you didn't want to put it down. I had also figured out that Dane was involved with Matthew's scheme. Overall, it was a good read.

Must read for all domestic thriller fans.

This book started slow for me but once it got going I couldn't put it down!! Didn't particularly love any of the characters but that didn't take the suspense away.
