Mukherjee was born in India and is now, not only a successful American cancer researcher and physician, but a Pulitzer Prize winning author for his book "The Emperor of All Maladies". This new release is a deep dive into the history of our knowledge of the cell and the application of that knowledge to medicine. This book is heavy on the science, but lightened at times by the examples of real people being treated with the new knowledge. It is a fascinating read and unlike many books that are pure entertainment, this one will leave you smarter. It is a great recommendation for anyone interested in both the science and history of medicine and biology. I enjoyed it.
