THE FAKE DATING/SLOW BURN TROPE IS TOP TIER!!! No one can convince me otherwise.
I think I love this book more that the Spanish love deception👀
Rosie and Lucas are so cute and adorable. This book will have you smiling and grinning like an idiot! So excited for everyone else to read this so I can fully share my love of this book with everyone!
Well done! And thank you eternally to NetGalley for the E-Arc, I love you guys 😭🤍

This book? So. Much. Fun. I had so much fun reading this book. Overall Rosie’s character had me laughing and smiling the entire way. I loved this so much, much more than I even anticipated to. Sometimes you have an inkling and truly believe that the book an author wrote will never be topped. I was so wrong. So much credit to Elena for this book. I adored it!

Lucas and Rosie were everything I wanted in a romance. The relationship, just like Aaron and Lina was amazing. I had so much fun going on this journey with them and watching them fall in love with each other. Elena armas knows how to craft a story. And for that I’m absolutely grateful for this new edition to her journey. 5/5 stars!

I've been waiting for this one since reading The Spanish Love Deception earlier this year (or late last year?l and loving it. Well, I was not let down and possibly even liked this one more!
Intoduced as Lina's best friend in the first book, Rosie finds herself without somewhere to live temporarily and let's herself into Lina's apartment since she is away on her honeymoon. Then, late at night, a man starts trying to get into the apartment! Only after making a fool of herself does Rosie discover it is Lina's cousin Lucas, whom Rosie has a huge secret crush on and didn't realize was coming to stay. They decide to share the apartment and soon find themselves in a routine that neither of them minds. Oh, also, Rosie's crush may have developed into full blown attraction and it appears she isn't the only one. But what will happen when she can go back to her apartment and Lucas leaves New York?
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC and watch for this when it is released on Sept6. My review will live in a story highlight called ARCReviews on my Instagram.

I enjoyed Armas's THE SPANISH LOVE DECEPTION, and was excited to start her sophomore novel. Unfortunately, I just didn't connect with the main characters the way that I did with the characters in Armas's previous work, and wasn't all that invested in the romance.

A slow-burn, forced proximity, only-one-bed romance set in the same universe as The Spanish Love Deception that's equally fun, indulgent and enjoyable. Fresh off of Lina and Aaron's HEA, Elena Armas is back to tell Lina's best friend Rosie's story -- and Lina's cousin Lucas who stole her heart. This read was told in compelling first points of views that had me so enthralled to keep reading both sides. It was so fun, cute, and frothy with plenty of banter in spades from the very first chapter. While, of course, there are teeny nods to Lina and Aaron, this is really Rosie and Lucas' independent story. And honestly? I think I dug this read a tad more than Arma's debut novel, it delivered on everything I love in a romance! Plus that ending, oh, it made my heart just SOAR!

4.5
sappy and beautiful and all the good things! i liked this better than the first book; my main issue with aaron and lina’s book was that parts of it felt unrealistic, but i didn’t get that feeling really at all with lucas and rosie’s story, even in its meta-ness. and oof … chapter 26 … that’s all i’m gonna say.

I loved everything about this book. It was so good!! I loved that Lina and Aaron were in the book but not the focus of it. The only thing that I can even say that is negative is that I wished the Epilogue was longer.

Thank you @atriabooks and @netgalley for the ARC
When I got this #arc I quite literally dropped everything on by TBR and my schedule and started reading, I was so excited for this! It didn’t disappoint.
It has everything you would want in a novel. I mean come on @thebibliotheque is Queen of the slow burn. Forced proximity and obviously one bed. You can’t help but instantly fall in love with these characters and their vulnerability.
I laughed, I cried, I blushed (like a lot), I wanted to throw it across the room at one point. 👌 It made me feel all the things.
This is why we read romance novels 👏.👏.👏

This was by far my favorite by Elena Armas! The tension was delicious. The whole dynamic between the characters had me rooting for them. I will definitely tell everyone about this book.
