This being the third book in the American Realty series, I was glad to see Kit Quincy get his own story. Centering around two opera houses and a mother and daughter competing for the diva role was an interesting plot for this story.

I liked the phantom component of the story, both in Giovanna’s story from the past and Delia’s story that was set in the present. It was fun to figure out who both of the phantoms were and I think other readers will enjoy that part of the story too.

Delia’s faith was evident throughout the events that took place in her life and I found that an encouraging part of the story. She came to realize that her worth wasn’t in what people thought of her and to trust God in her life. I liked that Kit was not swayed by opinion, but saw Delia as a faithful, giving, and trusting young lady.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions expressed here are completely my own.

Enjoyed this novel so much!
I couldn't put it down. I was able to finish in a day it was so good.
opera music.
5 stars for some excellent writing in this book. I loved the fact that each character was well rounded out. The plot was wonderful too!
I definitely could relate to most of this book. The glamor the music everything!
This series so far has been so enjoyable and exciting! I do hope that Ms. Hitchcock will write another one.
I loved the part where the phantom came in. That made it even more exciting! He was an awesome character. Made me think of the
My favorite of course was Mrs. Astor. I had a feeling that she was J.J Astor's mother. I was correct. They had connections with Titanic and were a selected family of New York's 400 in high society! What a lot to live up to! Wow!
I highly recommend!

His Delightful Lady Delia is the third and last installment in the American Royalty series. Kit is first introduced in book one as one of the bachelors vyying for the hand of Miss Willow Dupre. I really liked his character in that book and was excited to discover he was a leading character in this novel. You could read this as a stand alone but if you would like some background to his character I would suggest you start at book one.

I really enjoyed the first two books of this series. Teddy and Flora were two of my favorite characters in both the first and second novels, I was disappointed they didn't play more of a role in the second. The plot of this story centers around the opera and the elevation of a diva's daughter to become the new prima donna. Parts of the story involved mysterious "phantoms of the opera". I didn't really enjoy this portion of the plot. It seemed uninventive and I guessed early on the identity of the "phantom" from the past. For me, Millie's character was a bright spot throughout the story. Her schemes made me smile and added a touch of fun to the story.

If you enjoy a clean romance, then I think you would enjoy reading His Delightful Lady Delia.

A lovely, if slightly mysterious and suspenseful, conclusion to the charming American royalty series.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series by Grace Hitchcock. I found them humorous and full of fun.
This book is about the opera, and I enjoyed getting to see what it might have been like.
Delia is truly a delight. I loved getting to know her.
I also enjoyed seeing Kit finally getting his happily ever after.
Not only does this story have a sweet romance, there is also a hint of mystery. I loved seeing how it all unfolded.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for fun and romance with a dash of mystery thrown in.

Having first met Kit Quincy in Grace Hitchcock’s American Royalty series Book One, I was delighted to find that he would be featured in his own story in this book, the series conclusion. His personality, character and devotion shone brightly as he sought to make amends for his disastrous first meeting with opera songstress Delia Vittoria. Kit was inserted into a plan to promote Delia’s career and the Academy of Music, a plan which turned into more than just an act. Delia displayed a lovely disposition as she strove to overcome past hurts and their repercussions. Watching Kit and Delia’s relationship develop made for a wonderful romance and I appreciated how the message of God’s love was woven into the story. What is a book about the opera without drama attached to it, and this book had plenty! It was interesting to read the author’s notes about the history between two New York opera houses. Although this book concludes the American Royalty series and can be read as a standalone, you will probably want to read the first two books for their background and interest. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author and look forward to each new series she writes.

This is a great clean Christian romance with some adventure and mystery thrown in. I heartily enjoyed it and I think you will too! Kit and Delia were great characters as were the rest of the gang from the Opera House. This is book 3 in the American Royalty series by Grace Hitchcock. I haven't read the first one, My Dear Miss Dupré, where Kit is first seen but I have read book 2, Her Darling Mr. Day, and loved it!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

New York City, October 1883
Lovely, faith-filled romantic, mystery.
This story had a lot of secrets and kept me guessing. It centered around the opera with emphasis on the elite. However, up-and-coming soprano understudy, Delia Vittoria, is barely scraping by. She is determined to not fall into the snares of any man, having seen only negative results in her life.
Kit Quincy tried his luck with Willow Dupré (book 1) and lost. He expects to focus solely on his hotels for the remainder of his days.
But, when society demands something more of him, he rises to the occasion as any great hero would. I loved that he was older/wiser and so kind.

🎭 The phantom was an interesting twist.

I devoured this book in a 1.5 days and am pleased to recommend it.

HIS DELIGHTFUL LADY DELIA is the third novel in the American Royalty series by GRACE HITCHCOCK, and like the first two in the series is set in the Gilded Age of American history, with all the pomp and ceremony associated with that time. What a delightful read and what delightful characters! It brings to an end the lovely series, which I suggest you read in sequence.
When the beautiful Delia Vittoria, who has been her prima donna mother’s understudy for years at the Knickerbockers’ elite Academy of Music’s opera house, she creates a stir with her beautiful voice and opens up speculations as to her past.
Not only is there excitement and suspense with the return of the Phantom, scandal because of her mother’s affair with a married man, the competition caused by the opening of the grand Metropolitan Opera House and the intrigue caused by the plot formed by Lady Astor’s crowd to save the Academy, but there is a sweet romance and a strong Christian message.
I particularly like the way Delia holds on to the Lord, who she finds to be enough, and is encouraged by Scripture. Her mother’s housekeeper Hester and the dashing Kit Quincy help her to understand God’s love.
Unwanted suitors, the arrival of her father, and a widow who was once engaged to Kit, add more excitement to the story……
I highly recommend His Delightful Lady Delia to anyone who enjoys historical romance which is full of humour but also has a deeper message.

This book simply didn’t hold my interest. I enjoyed the other books in this series and was hopeful that this book would be just as good, but it missed the mark for me. I was not invested in the plot, or characters. It was such a completely different feel from the other books in this series. I just didn’t find the plight of an opera singer or the opera house intriguing enough to continue. There seemed to be very little motivation for the plot. I liked Kit’s characters and the interactions between he and Deila were nice, however they didn’t happen frequently enough in the first bit of the book enough to keep me invested. The Phantom of the opera angle seemed really unrealistic. Deilia’s mother was absolutely terrible. More than that was the face that Delia seemed to believe that her mother wanted what was best for her when it was so obvious she was a jealous and conniving person. A lot just didn’t click for me. Hoping more offerings from this author are in the future because I have enjoyed her writing previously.

I missed the second book in this series, so there were a few things that didn't make sense at first, but the author did a good job of filling in the gaps. I'm not sure it would have been as enjoyable, however, if I hadn't read the first one of the series. In this book, we're whisked to turn of the century NYC, with opera houses, opening seasons, and lifestyles of the rich and famous. And if you are a fan of Phantom of the Opera, you most certainly WON'T want to miss reading it!!
