This book is exactly what everyone who is struggling with mental health needs. It gives great writing prompts and many things to think about as you are doing so. I bought a copy for myself as I found it to be very helpful.
This may be my favorite journal I’ve picked up. All the prompts really made me pause and think before I answered them. I also loved that each section started with a lovely quote.
I didn’t get very far into this before I DNF’d it instantly. It is very western cultured with its own ideas of a culture the author clearly isn’t from or researched. A very fad ‘spiritual’ book. I see authors quoted who are not associated with Buddhism or a Buddha… The list goes on.
If you like American white washed western spirituality and want to follow this narrative- go for it. But this is the most non authentic book/journal I’ve seen
Excellent. This is not a passive read. To get something out of it, readers need to fill-in a word or more, and do some thinking. It's well worth the time.
I really appreciate the free review copy for review!!
This book is full of useful sections about inner strength, emotional well-being, self-criticism, self-belief and dealing with your past. It also covers spiritual well-being. Deschene includes writing prompts, doodles and challenges to help you reflect on where you need help, and try to improve. It's a lot of work, and probably worth it, but it would take time to keep the journal.
This kind of book is probably easier to read as an ebook, so it's better to buy the paperback.
I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Such a wonderful little book, I love the books that Tiny Buddha puts out. They are absolutely wonderful and perfect for the mental health of everyone who reads them.
I’m a big fan of Tiny Buddha on social media. I would have like to see this book set up more as a journal. It read like a book with little space for “journaling”. Maybe that was because it is a ebook? Most likely! In general this was a decent attempt at guided journaling but it probably would not have been a something I would have purchased had I been able to look through it prior.
Definitely a different way to look at situations in your life and your general outlook. It was interesting reading and thinking about the questions asked of you in the pages.
An interesting, insightful series of prompts from Tiny Buddha's Lori Deschene that help the reader/journaler identify what's bugging them and what might be done about it. I found the prompts on keeping things in perspective, changing perceptions, and focusing on solutions from within to be most useful. I look forward to working through the book in its entirety!
I read through this but have not had a chance to put the activities to use. I can see this being an incredibly insightful and helpful journal, but for me personally I would need a physical copy. However, I do plan to buy one and use some of the exercises with my students as well!

I was not familiar with Tiny Buddha before requesting this ARC. (Those interested can find out more online.) Nonetheless, I learned a lot from exploring this title. It is one that will reward the reader for the time they put into thinking about the many prompts and more that are included in these pages.
The author shares that she has had her own serious struggles as, for example, with bulimia and depression, and has tried to grow through them. This growth is what she hopes for her readers as she asks them to think about their lives. This title is divided into sections on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual dimensions of life. In each of these parts of the book, there are writing prompts, a doodle and a challenge.
It is suggested that one could begin this book in any section. However, it is better to complete one section before moving to another is the advice given.
For those who want to know and understand themselves and have the discipline to set aside thinking and being time, this book will will be a most helpful resource.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for this title. All opinions are my own.
I am not a follower of the Tiny Buddha online community. I didn’t know it even existed until I read the description for this journal while surfing publishers’ recent offerings on NetGalley. Therefore, I will admit that the promise offered by the publisher’s blurb lured me into reading this slim 240-page volume.
In her introduction, the author stated that the primary purpose of the book was to offer ideas, habits, and exercises that helped her get stronger and believe in herself even when she felt lost and weak. Her hope is that, by working through the exercises in this book, helps the reader build upon and foster the inner strength that the reader has already fostered within. It is supposed to represent a journey to inner strength across four distinct aspects - mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Each of the four main sections is subdivided into seven shorter sections, which include writing prompts, doodle prompts, and challenges.
The mental strength section hit home harder that I thought, because that focused on mental resilience with exercises about eliminating negative thoughts. The emotional strength section was about changing how we react to our emotions in order to turn our emotions into a source of strength. The physical strength section was about physical habits and choices that help us feel our strongest. The spiritual strength section discussed deepening the connection with the higher self and the sacred. Each subsection within the four began with a related quote and an intricate line drawing that can be colored in with pencils or markers.
Overall, I would definitely add this to my collection to give myself something to work through in weak moments. I would have to give some further consideration based on the quality of the finished physical version as to whether or not I acquire multiple copies to gift to close friends at winter holidays.
I received this book as a digital advance reader copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. The Kindle version of the ARC was simply words without any artwork; however, the NetGalley Shelf version was fully formatted with both illustrations and typesetting.
I received an ARC for this journal and was excited to jump in. Right off the bat, the drawing portion of the daily prompts wasnt exciting to me. The rest of the content really helped me to put a focus on my morning journal practice.
I usually do a morning pages routine, but it felt nice to have a focus and a direction for a while.
The content in this inner strength journal gives you so many questions to contemplate that it was really helpful to continue to expand on the initial answer.
This little book was surprising for me but totally what I needed at this moment.
For me this one it's more like a journey than a book and in this trying times, I think it's exactly what we need to center ourselves and build inner strength in ourselves and project it to the world.
It has lots of prompt that you can use daily, weekly or whenever you are in need of inner consciousness and learn more about how we have changed in time.
I will recommend it to anyone really, if you're feeling a little lost or just need a little reassurance that you are stronger than you think, this has a little of everything for a lot of situations and times.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, I feel like I learnt a lot and good a great insight.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
If you're a fan of Tiny Buddha, this journal will be a lovely addition to your collection. This journal explores how to build your inner strength through different methods, here's an example of one set of subsections:
- Assessing your strengths and weaknesses
- Developing a growth mindset
- Changing your interpretations
- Keeping things in perspective
- Changing your perception of change
- Releasing disempowering beliefs
- Focusing on solutions
Each of them gets their own section. Each section starts with a resonant quote and a drawing that could be colored and then continues with thoughtful prompts and exercises. There are also many other sections including compassion, empathy, fostering optimism, etc.
I really loved the variety of prompts and the insights they bring forth. A wonderful way to encourage both inner strength and self awareness.
with gratitude to edelweiss and NetGalley and Kensington Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
This is great addition the series of volumes from Little Buddha. Good for focusing one’s thoughts and unpacking the power of thoughts and the value of mindfulness.

I’m always one to read books or quotes that inspire me to be a better person or help me better handle the difficult things that life throws at me. Tiny Buddha has helped me cope through various journals, blogs and quotes and I am excited to share this gem with you today!
I follow The Tiny Buddha on Instagram (@tinybuddhaofficial) and always enjoy the encouraging quotes that are shared on her page.
I was excited to see this book available to request so I could have those words of wisdom to keep for my very own.
Through the exercises in the journal and the quotes along the way, you will learn to discover your inner strengths, manage your emotions, engage in self-care and feel more in control of your life.
All the quotes that are shared within the pages will resonate with you now, or at some point in your life, so it is a journal that you can keep reading again and again! That makes it even more special to me because it keeps giving!!
The prompts were thought-provoking and the author provided lots of room for you to jot down your feelings/thoughts/lessons if you were to buy this book in hardcover form.
The beautiful artwork inside is something that you could color to add another dimension and personalization to the book.
I'm looking forward to going back after some time has passed and reviewing my answers to see if life or my outlook on life has changed as I continue to grow in my journey!!
You can visit Tina Buddha's website for the author’s blog, a library of quotes organized by category, and a shop that includes all her other books/t-shirts https://tinybuddha.com/
I absolutely love The Tiny Buddha and follow them on Instagram and their daily calendar, so I was so excited to see and be approved to review this book! This book did not disappoint! Beautiful and meaningful quotes were chosen for each section, along with fun and pretty graphics (that one could colour if so inclined ). The journal prompts were reflective and appropriate for the sections and plenty of room was provided for journaling. Some topic areas included were faith & spirituality, self compassion, self care, positive mental health and coping, forgiveness, love etc. This book was well thought out in regards to flow and would be something I would purchase for myself or as a special gift for a friend or family member. Well done!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC copy of this beautiful journal book in exchange for my honest review and opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nothing overly original but a solid reflective book to help find peace in a chaotic world.
The prompts are applicable to most and all for thought provoking responses.
