An entertaining, though slightly predictable, journey through life’s challenges. Characters are charming, but not overly intriguing. A nice palette cleanser and decent addition for a rom com reader.
I finally read some backlog books, after thinking I was going to pass on them, but this one has me feeling like maybe I should have. Normally I love enemies to lovers and opposites attract, but this one fell flat with little chemistry between the main characters, and the FMC was unlikeable and self centered.
Thank you Netgalley for this book.
This is a nice rom-com, with some humor in it.
Lucy is a workaholic, that puts work above everything. But she is trying to change that. So she meets Zack, a yoga instructor, and they are kinda stuck together.
If you want to read a light and funny novel, this book is for you.
I was looking forward to this as the blurb sounded amazing, but it fell flat for me.
I didn’t get the characters and why they would be together and their chemistry didn’t leap off the page.
I feel like I was just reading to finish the book, and not because I wanted to.
A bit disappointed?
I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.
I thought Stone Broke Heiress was so so so cute, so I had extremely high hopes for this one. I struggled with the characters here...and the romantic aspect took entirely TOO long to get to. Once we FINALLY got there, the chemistry between Lucy and Zach was extremely lackluster.
When I began this book, I found myself frustrated with the main protagonist, but i felt like i could connect with and understand her. i really tried to root for her as the story progressed, but i felt that the romance was lacking. this was a slowwww burn and i felt that there wasn’t enough chemistry between the characters. overall, i would give this book three stars!
thank you netgalley for providing me an arc for an honest review!
I really enjoyed reading this book. The diologue is clever and rings true. The characters are well fleshed out and will have you rooting for them to be a couple.
Lucy and Zack are a match made in rom-com heaven! On their own, they're awesome, but together? They're a fantastic mix of 'opposites attract' and 'enemies-to-lovers' with just the right dose of being stuck together to really light the fireworks. They sneaked into my heart, and before I knew it, I was super invested in their happiness. I was like, on the edge of my seat, crossing my fingers, hoping they'd make the smart choices.
Zack is a mystery I was dying to solve. His actions? Seriously captivating. The slow-burn romance between them had my heart doing summersaults. It wasn't just a love story; it was a rollercoaster of emotions that kept me totally hooked.
And the hidden messages? They added this amazing layer to Lucy and Zack's story. It's like there's a secret tale woven into their interactions, and it's not just about the words but the feelings they stir up. Pure magic.
In short, this book is a cozy, feel-good romance that's all about the big emotions, heaps of laughter, and a heartwarming journey. A total must-read for some serious feel-good vibes!"
"Stuck With Him" by Danielle Owen-Jones is a charming romantic escape that had me hooked with its delightful premise and endearing characters. This novel is a heartwarming blend of humor, chemistry, and the unexpected joys of newfound connections.
Owen-Jones' writing style is light-hearted and engaging, immersing readers in a world of humorous mishaps and unexpected circumstances. The characters in the novel are relatable and wonderfully quirky, making their interactions a joy to follow.
At the heart of the narrative is a playful romance that blossoms in the most unexpected of situations. The author skillfully captures the ups and downs of the characters' relationship, creating a narrative that is as touching as it is amusing.
"Stuck With Him" successfully balances witty banter with heartfelt moments, resulting in a narrative that is both entertaining and emotionally satisfying. The exploration of personal growth and the gradual evolution of the characters' feelings adds depth to the story.
In conclusion, "Stuck With Him" is a delightful and engaging read that delivers a perfect blend of romance and humor. If you're looking for a book that offers a feel-good escape with characters you can't help but root for, this novel is a wonderful choice that will leave you with a smile on your face.
This was a cute book, but the heroine was hard to connect with. Lucy had a tendency to pass judgements on Zack without bothering to get to know him, and the romantic tension left a lot to be desired. I love a good opposites attract trope as much as the next girl, but when the characters don't evolve throughout the book, it makes the level of attraction fall by the wayside. I wish I had liked Lucy more, but...
I rate this book a 3/5 stars, and thank NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my feedback.
Thanks net galley for the arc. I really can’t get through with it I’ll be back for more info. I hope I get to reread this soon and make my thoughts more clearer because I was just confused.
I am a lover of a good forced proximity story, so I really love the idea and premise around stuck with him. I think the thing that I wasnt the biggest fan of is unfortunately Lucy. I think that she sort of pushed the line of just being kind of quirky to being just annoying. I am honestly impressed by Zack and seriously need to take his yoga class because I would need meditation if I was having to deal with Lucy. I think there was witty banter that definitely helped the story, but overall I just could not get into this book because I unfortunately did not find the love story to be believable.
Absolutely loved this book!
The writing style was really good and I look forward to reading any other books from this author in the future :)
Great concept followed through by great execution. Really well written and a genuinely interesting story. A fun enjoyable read!
cute, sweet and fresh romance read just in between exams. the romace and humor helped me get my mind off al the stress :)
I don't know what expected to take from this book but it certainly wasn't what I got! I enjoyed the book generally as well as the character and their relationships but I have found it has given me some inspiration to renovate my own home, I am sure that's certainly not what the author had in mind.
Overall a good book that I would recommend to friends and family!
This is my first time reading a book by Danielle Owen-Jones and I have to say, I loved it. I love a good enemies to lovers themed story. I found their journey funny with some laugh out loud moments.
It was a great introduction to a new author, I’ll definitely be looking for more from her.
I don’t think this book was for me, i think it was more the writing style that made me struggle to get into this book unfortunately. I think its a really good concept but I know 100 books just like it!
