3.5, rounding up to 4.
I'll start off by saying that I hated Lucy to begin with. How she behaved at both the hen party and wedding was outrageous and I'm not sure I'd have been as forgiving as Katie. However, I did grow to really like her and this book is just such a funny, romantic and a little bit heartbreaking of a read. Zack was definitely swoon worthy and the whole opposites attract worked well with him and Lucy. Though the plot is very predictable it didn't take away from the story. It was a laugh out loud joy to read and Danielle Owen Jones' sense of humour will keep me reading her future releases.

I found this book very slow and hard to get into. All the characters I've met so far are annoying and Lucy's internal dialogue is very all over the place.
This book was good, it had some very cute moments and the premise of the book was interesting. Being a closed door rom-com, it's not something I usually go for but towards the end I found myself really rooting for them. At first, I was thinking how I would have preferred a dual POV (as I usually do) but for this, I kind of liked the tension it created not knowing Zack's POV or intentions.
However, being singular POV only left us with Lucy who, at times, I foind slightly annoying. I did found her lack of communication and recognition of her own flaws to be irritating. I understand that her misunderstanding of Zach's relationship status plays into the whole overall arc of the story but her lack of willingness to ask a simple question to gain clarify was frustrating as a reader.
I thought certain relationships within the story could have been explored more, I'd love to have seen more interaction with her Grandmother rather than this be kept a "secret" until the end of the book. The ending also felt slightly rushed to me and I would have liked to see how Lucy and Zack integrate further into each others lives with their friends and family rather than just the short epilogue.
Overall, it was a cute easy read but it did also fall a little flat in some places for me.
Danielle Owen-Jones' Stuck With Him is a story about Lucy, who finds herself sharing a home with her yoga instructor whom she absolutely hates with a passion.
Now, I'm not sure what to make of this book because at first, I thought it was actually fun to read. Nothing else, just that it was fun to read. I absolutely hated every single character (maybe except for Zack). There was no chemistry between the two leads. Everyone felt flat. There seems to be no character development for anyone. And wow, I guess I understand why Katie and Lucy are friends because... they both suck.
I thought the start was okay. It was actually a little interesting, although I've seen everything about to happen from a mile away. It just got so absurd as I kept reading. My honest take is that this is a hot mess. It could have flowed well even with all the cliches happening, but it didn't.
I won't ask you not to read this, because I imagine some people would enjoy it. But it really was just a mess for me. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a quick and light read. Nothing heavy at all, so there's that!
I give this 2 stars because it's not too horrible, but it really isn't for me.
I really enjoyed the concept of this book. I also didn't mind the workaholic main character. As a small business owner myself, I could relate. Yet taking a phone call right when you are about to walk down the aisle to your best friend's wedding - was a far stretch for me. I know why it was done - to cause a great big crash in her relationship and everything else that goes haywire in her life, but that particular point felt a bit too far-fetched for me.
I also felt that something else was off with this book but I couldn't quite put my finger on it - something felt lacking in the storyline yet I still felt intrigued enough to continue onward.
I did really like the twist towards the end! Romance novels usually don't have many twists and I liked it! Personally, I wouldn't say I liked how the main character reacted to it. I wanted to punch Josh in the nose the moment I knew what was going on.
Yet, with that said, I liked how it ended. In fact, the reason I gave it 4 stars, instead of 3, really had to do with the ending. I really liked it.
When I first read the description, this book sounded really good and something up my street, unfortunately I feel let down by it.
The first half of the book was okay and did draw me in a bit but the other half was a complete disappointment, I didn't feel that there was any chemistry between Lucy and Zach. I felt it was completely weird the friendship Lucy and Katie as well, it felt all over the place with forgiveness for some pretty bad things on Lucy's part.
It made me really dislike Lucy more and more throughout as she never thinks about the other people around her. The plot had promise but it just felt a bit flat and could have had so much more to it.

This book is 688 pages long and I only made it to 297 in 20 days. It’s very slow and has information/situations not really relevant to the main story. It takes awhile to get to the fun banter between Lucy and Zack. I hope to finish or re-read at some point but unfortunately I gravitated towards other books instead of finishing this one in the time limit Netgalley provides. I had high hopes for this one by reading the description but I feel as it has fallen short.
Entertaining read from start to finish! Lucy is an interior designer workaholic and Zack is a carefree yoga instructor, and the premise of them buying a house together is creative and amusing. I was invested in the characters, who were relatable and realistic. I totally identified with Lucy putting work ahead of everything else in life. This was a fun and easy read and had some great life lessons!!
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for this e-ARC!
This book has the slowest start EVER! There are moments of banter that are very sweet and cute and the premise of the book has so much potential but I am 12 chapters in and the book hasn’t grabbed my attention. I will not be finishing this book.

I'm not sure why this is listed as humor book because the story doesn't have any jokes in it. Perhaps it's the way that the story is written as the author uses the word SO in itallics in order to get her point across. The story is a very basic enemies-to-lovers storyline with as much orignality as "Live, Laugh, Love" decor. The final straw to me was the fact that the love interest doesn't bathe which I guess is someone's kink. However, it's definitely not mine.
Two opposing personalities agree to buy a house together. Can it work? Enjoy the ups and downs of adjusting to share living space from two very different people. Can they find common ground? Or will it be a battlefield?
Enjoy I did
Very rarely do I read a book and think, I wish this was a movie. But that’s exactly what happened with Stuck with Him. Owen-Jones has captured the perfect rom-com feeling in this book, and I honestly wish I could watch it play out on screen.
Lucy and Zach are basically strangers – she’s been to a few of his yoga classes – when they realize they both want to buy the same house. Neither can afford it on their own, and impulsive Zach suggests they buy it together. Eager to live in her childhood home again, the normally hesitant, serious Lucy agrees.
The best parts of this novel are the scenes when they’re fixing up the house together or arguing over how to live together amicably. Lucy and Zach are charming together, and they’re such opposites that it’s really fun watching them fall for each other. That’s the best way to describe this book – it’s a fun, light read, perfect for the beach or even a day you just wish you were reading on the beach.
As strong as the two leads are together, I would have loved just a little more depth from them. There are some heart-to-heart conversations sprinkled here and there, but it’s like one minute they don’t get along and the next, they like each other. I was missing some of the buildup and slowburn I love in a romance, and that’s why it felt a bit more like a rom-com movie, where everything only has 100 minutes to resolve.
I had two small quibbles with the book. First, that Lucy has a standing Thursday appointment that is very secretive and she refuses to discuss with Zach. When we finally find out what it is, I couldn’t understand why it was even secret in the first place. That plotline didn’t work for me at all. And second, Lucy is a fundamentally good person, but she’s not always the best friend due to her workaholic tendencies. She literally answers her phone instead of watching her best friend walk down the aisle at her wedding. She’s clearly a different person at the end of the novel, but we didn’t see much of how she got there, and I would have loved to see a bit more of her on that journey. Overall though, this is a really fun, sweet read.
My life is too short for annoying and generally unpleasant and self-absorbed people...
Lucy is just that...

It is not funny! It is so "cringe", it is actually unbearable.
I really enjoyed this story! It’s set in Liverpool, though to be honest there’s not a great deal of description about Liverpool, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as I hate endless descriptions. Our lead characters compete to buy a house and then end up having to share it and the story is basically about how they cope with this. It was nice to see the slight transformations in their characters to improve on their flaws, whilst still maintaining who they are, and not achieving perfection. This is a lovely friend to lovers story which I’d highly recommend and keeps you hooked til the end
I gave this book 3.5/5.. This is the first time I've read a book by this author and overall I did enjoy it but unfortunately it fell short for me in some places. I loved the enemies to lovers and close proximity aspect and I liked that Lucy was career driven and a bit Type A which is nice to see for a change. The book felt a bit slow for me but it was well written and I got more into it towards the end.
I liked the characters in this book and I always love a forced proximity, enemies to lovers story. I liked the banter between the main characters and enjoyed seeing the romance between them. There wasn’t a lot of drama/conflict which I actually quite liked. Overall I really enjoyed this, it was a quick, easy read.
This is my first read from this author and I really loved this book. Its a closed-door romance but its so well written, with an authentic plot.
It's written in 3rd Person POV with FMC's perspective,
It;'s set in UK , which is my favorite country for the story setting.
I have read many novels up till now but I don't think I have read many laidback heroes.Cinnamon heroes. Most of the books have alpha heroes with take-charge attitudes. I do love reading those but once in a blue moon you come across an amazing laid-back guy that falls too close to reality and its quite refreshing. Its sort of a ' grumpy/sunshine trope with a grumpy FMC and sunshine MMC, which is so rare these days.
Zack is a Yoga Teacher and Lucy is type A workaholic. It was quote good to read about a grumpy workaholic FMC. I have not read many of these, It was quite funny to see them bash their heads with how opposite they both were and how they both were too stubborn to leave the situation.
It was a gradual attraction and it was so good when they both admitted their feelings.
All in all, its an amazing read with lots of ups and downs and laughs.
I gave Stuck With Him three stars because I felt it was kind of slow at times. I enjoyed the difference between the characters personalities and thought it was well written how high strung Lucy is but, I feel like it was a bit overboard at times. I did enjoy the plot twists at the end and felt they tied the story together nicely as they were a bit unexpected. Overall it was an enjoyable read.
This book started off very slow. It was taking a long time to get to the actual problem of the book which made it difficult to connect with the characters. However once I got past chapter 12, the book started to pick up! The banter between Lucy and Zack was funny and I really enjoyed it! Bits of the plot were a little too predictable for my liking. Overall, this book was cute and fluffy but just took too long for me to get into.
Although I liked the premise of this book, and the ending was good, getting there was hard. Katie (the best friend) was one of the most horrible characters I've ever read and if she were my friend, she'd have been out of my life years ago. Lucy (our protagonist) is also horrible - very judgemental and unnecessarily rude - but she does at least improve somewhat as the book progresses. The book felt like it had no meat - it took ages to set up the point of the book (two strangers buying a house together) and then there was very little to make it an interesting story once the set up was done. A bit disappointing overall!
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
