Lucy Clark and Zack are competing to buy Lucy’s childhood house and what Zack doesn’t realise, is that Lucy is not going to lose this house, even if she can’t afford it. She has lost her business and her best friend, but she is determined to strike a deal with Zack, if it is the only way forward. So when he suggests guying the house together, Lucy is determined to drive him crazy. However, Lucy soon begins to rethink her priorities and see whether Zack is really the enemy.
The premise of this book really interested me, and I liked the idea of the enemies to lovers theme. Yet, Lucy’s persistence in throwing obstacles in Zack’s way did become a little tiresome. I had wished that the romance would have blossomed sooner, and I wondered how long the torment that Lucy inflicted could actually be tolerated. Overall, the storyline was good, and I hope to read more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The whole premise of this book had me hooked from the get go! I felt it was the perfect setting for a romcom and it did not disappoint!
At times I would’ve like to see more chemistry between the main characters, especially at the beginning but the banter was good and this opposites attract story made me laugh out loud quite a bit.
I’d recommend this one to anyone looking for their next closed door romcom!

I was really excited to read this book given the “enemies-to-lovers” trope, but unfortunately it left me severely disappointed. I tried to enjoy at least the romance aspect, but even that was a big mess. I think it could’ve been a bit more interesting if it were double POV. We needed more of Zack’s character and less of Lucy’s “let me get mad at Zach for no apparent reason”.
I expected more.
Stuck With Him is the second book written by Danielle Owen-Jones and I had the chance to read an advanced copy of this after loving Stone Broke Heiress so I was really excited for this one and I loved it!
Lucy and Zack were the perfect characters for the enemies to lovers trope, with Lucy's workaholic nature and Zack's laidback attitude to life causing a lot of chaos in 8 Falkner Avenue! I enjoyed the development of Lucy and Zack's relationship from the beginning, with the addition of Kat (their cute and fluffy four-legged friend) creating lots of funny situations!
I was really invested in the storylines of each character which kept me hooked from the first page. There were a few moments in the book that really took me by surprise and made it even better! The humour and lighthearted nature of this book, paired with equally tear-jerking and heartfelt moments, created a perfect cosy read.
Danielle Owen-Jones has become an auto-buy author for me now and I already can't wait for Book Number 3!
*3.5
The premise of this book is good but the execution is not. For starters this book should be dual pov, there is too much of Zack's character that you don't understand until the last 10% of the book. It makes him have no depth and it's boring. The book also didn't have enough romantic development.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Lucy is a workaholic who does not know how to live outside of her work. While away at her best friends hen party she is trying to work instead of participating in the activities. Her bestie ends up taking away her computer. While they were all drunk one of the ladies got on her computer and sent out an email to all of her clients, which resulted in her being dropped by a lot of them. Now trying build up her client list again she notices the house she grew up in was list for sale. She is willing to do just about anything to own that house even make a deal with her meditation instructor who she can’t stand. They both go in together and purchase the house and work on renovating it. Along the way they discover that maybe they don’t can live together as friends and maybe even more. I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved her first book Stone Broke Heiress and this follow up (though not a sequel) was filled with Danielle's signature fresh and fun prose, and her fabulous wit! I swallowed up this novel and it felt me on a natural high for days to come. The characters were so relatable, whilst not being stereotypical, which is really tough to do when writing rom coms, and Danielle nails this. I can't wait for the next one - hurry up and write it!
I initially loved the premise of this book and was super excited to read it! Two practically strangers buy a house together - what could go wrong? Once I got into it though, I had a bit of a hard time connecting to either of the main characters, Lucy and Zack, however, the pacing was good and I flew through it. I would definitely read more from this author!
If Danielle Owen-Jones was to write a manual for an ironing board, I would gladly read it. THAT’S how much I like her writing style and her wit. After her fabulous debut ‘Stone Broke Heiress’ I had high expectations for Stuck With Him and she exceeded them with flying colours.
Lucy and Zack are great characters on their own, but throw them together and you got yourself a delicious pair of polar opposite enemies-to-lovers with the perfect amount of forced proximity to get the sparks flying. They weaseled their way into my heart and in the end I really cared about them and their well-being. I was constantly biting my nails and hoping for the MC’s to make the right decision. I would have killed to get an insight into Zack’s head sometimes, his body language was so outrageously intriguing. The slow burn kept me on edge and made my stomach flutter multiple times.
And I loved the messages written between the lines. It felt like there was a whole story waiting to be found on the meta-level that added significantly to the atmosphere of their relationship. It wasn’t so much about what was said, it was more about what it made you feel. Absolutely divine.
This is the perfect comfort romance with big feelings, a whole lot of heart and even more belly laughs.
Guess you’re Stuck With Me now, Mrs. Owen-Jones. Can’t wait to read what you have in store for us next.

Synopsis: So when Zack puts in a competing offer to buy Lucy’s childhood home, there’s no way she’s backing down. After losing her business and her best friend in one great margarita-themed disaster, there’s no way she’s losing her beloved house. Except there’s one tiny problem – she can’t actually afford it. When Zack suggests they buy the house together, inspiration strikes. Lucy will wear him down, with a never-ending supply of lists and rules, until he’s begging for escape. That’s until Zack arrives, with his non-existent sleepwear and a ridiculously sincere appreciation for the simple things. Suddenly, Lucy finds herself re-evaluating her own warped priorities. Will living with the enemy end up with Lucy losing her sanity? Or is it true what they say – that there’s a thin line between love and hate?
My Thoughts: The concept of this book, an enemies to lovers trope with our heroine and hero buying a house together, even though they hate each other, really intrigued me. However, as much as I tried, I could not connect with our heroine, she was really unlikeable to me. She was just too selfish and cruel to Zack, I do not want to say more to give anything away. It took awhile to get to the romance buildup part, I wish it could have been earlier in the book and building around that. I do love the author’s writing style, it was easy to follow, creative, and her overall idea was very intriguing. I believe if Lucy was written in a slightly different light, it would have made a big difference. Overall, not a bad book, I just had difficulty with the heroine.
The book has forced proximity/enemies to lovers tropes which are among my favourite tropes, I loved the banter between Lucy and Zack
however I was having a hard time liking Lucy throughout the book which made it hard to get through some parts
other than that I loved the writing style and it’s a good option if you’re looking for a light read
I struggled with this one. I appreciate characters who are workaholics, ambitious, and always on the move because they usually lead to more layered character development choices. Unfortunately, she was not just these attributes. She was dismissive of the feelings of people around her and careless in her actions. I cannot figure out why she was so casually cruel to Zack for little to no reason for the bulk of the book. Sure, his priorities don't look like hers but he's a functioning member of society just as much as she is.
If someone spent two hours in a bar bathroom working on their laptop during my bachelorette party and then bailed on standing up with me at my wedding because she couldn't unplug for one of the most important relationships in her life, I think I would call her an Uber, wish her well, and delete her number.
The romance storyline didn't really kick in until 80% or so and there was very little romantic chemistry leading up to it. No wonder she was so surprised. I was surprised and I was in it with them.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.
Nice story but a bit far fetched to be believable so therefore difficult to engage with the characters. ..
Easy read for the summer holidays
You ought to love a good enemies to lovers romance with the cutest premise ever that follows two complete strangers buying a house together.
The book follows Lucy a workaholic who has lost friendships and possibly her sanity after she almost ruins her friends' wedding for work and Zack a relaxed meditating yogi who also wants to purchase her childhood home. The hilarity and conflicting personalities of this two people was entertaining and I feel the author did a good job of making the banter hilarious. I received a complimentary copy from the author and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I have really enjoyed previous books by this author, this one was ok but I did not connect with Lucy at all,way too obsessed with work, also I found it hard that 2 strangers would buy a house together,it just wouldn’t happen, some nice moments
I thought this book was cute! It was a really quick and fast read, I read it in a day. There were some parts where I was like ehhhh underwhelmed but overall the story was cute. I do wish there was a bit more romantic lead up to them being together. I feel like they went from housemates to kissing very randomly and quickly. Overall though, it was cute and I’d recommend.

Despite its unlikely premises - two strangers agreeing to purchase a house together - Stuck With Him is a a fun easy read of two unlikely strangers - one more type A, the other more 'go with the flow yoga teacher' slowly realising they have a lot more in common than they think, and the differences they have are complementary. Its a lovely, easy read and I'm still laughing over the 'sex swing'.
I'm not normally a romance reader but occasionally the premise of a romance book will grab my attention and make me want to read it. This was one such book - something about having to buy a house and live with a stranger - or at the very least, someone you don't gel with - sounded like a really fun and interesting concept to me. And it was fun and interesting!
I didn't particularly like our two main characters - they didn't feel real enough to me but like stereotypes of who they were - the far too laid back yoga lad, and the workaholic stressed less. I do like how this is a switched dynamic as I've read many books where it's the other way round, so I liked how this was a fresh take! Despite not liking the two main characters, I did find - much like their experience within the story - the more I read, the more I developed a tolerance for them and they irritated me less.
It took a while for the story to get going and even now it doesn't feel like anything really happened, but it was still an enjoyable book. I really liked seeing how across time, the characters adapted to being in each other's company and how they both affected each other for the better.
I love how the main theme in this book is to really live life and enjoy being in the present moment. In a world where it seems to be cool to be addicted to working 24 hours a day, every day, it was nice to have a reminder in this book that actually, taking a break and having a good work-life balance is important.
Yes the book was cheesy and romantic. Yes it was predictable, But yes, I enjoyed it. Sometimes a predictable rom-com book is what you need. There's a sort of comforting feeling when you start reading it that it's going to be a lighthearted easy read that will have a happy ending and make you smile. This book is an example of that.

I liked the simple writing style of this one and it was a fairly nice romantic comedy read to finish off the month of June with.
It was light easy reading, easy to pick up to squeeze in a chapter when I had a spare few mins between jobs and looking after the fam.
I really liked the two main characters, Lucy and Zach (particularly Zach!)
It was a sweet romance read and I loved the ending. Plenty of funny parts too, I chuckled out loud a couple of times. Defo an ideal little comfort read. Not at all taxing. Would recommend to fans of Sophie Kinsella or Christina Lauren as similar writing style.
Thanks a mil to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review an advanced reading copy prior to it's publication date on 12th July.

This one wasn't it for me. I wanted to like this so much. Strangers living together and then becoming lovers is one of my favorite tropes. But I did not like any character in this book. Lucy is rude and judgemental. She was a workaholic to the extreme and even ruined her friend's wedding because of it. Girl needs to get her priorities straight.
I didn't even feel like this was a romance book. Where was the romance? The slow burn was way too long. The issues between Lucy and Jack were solved too quickly. There was no chemistry. The writing was excellent. But this book just wasn't for me.
