Enjoyable and entertaining read with some really good and hilarious moments.
The characters are good for the most part, but could be more in-depth in others.
The basic story is good and very entertaining, loved the beginning with the computer cockup .
One the whole I enjoyed the read.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
After a drunken mistake that practically destroyed her interior design business, Lucy is in no way ready to buy her childhood home when it becomes available. But neither can she let it go to her hot yoga nemesis, Zack, who gets way too much enjoyment out of humiliating her in class. When he suggests buying the house together, she sees it's the only way, but she's still not ready to admit defeat. Maybe her rules and lists will drive him so crazy that he'll give up and move out. She a crazy workaholic with her eye always on the clock, while he's laidback and go-with-the-flow. Do opposites attract or will they finally drive each other insane?
The whole arrangement of buying a house together was completely unrealistic, but the story was cute. His zen attitude helped Lucy to mellow out a bit and he learned to be more responsible. All the misunderstandings after they moved in together were funny.
I received an advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.
i was originally very excited to read it because of the cover. i found it cute and i thought the plot was cute but this was just terrible. i put off reading it multiple times because of how bad it was.
the structure overall of the book was really bad and the same goes for the structure of the characters.
i could not find one character that i related to. lucy was so rude sometimes it was terrible to read. same goes for the second hand embarrassment you would get from her 😐. the phone call at her friends wedding right when she was about to walk down the asile?? are you serious right now. if anyone did that at my wedding i would literally kick them out. i get it was a huge part of her job but she could of rescheduled the phone call to a different day and not the day her 'best friend' got married?? zack. i have no words. i didn't even want him to be the love interest throughout half of it because he annoyed me for absolutely no reason but he just did.
i don't recommend this at all, if you want to try it do it but i recommend you do not.
*thank you netgalley for this arc in return of an honest review*

this book was painfully hard to get through and while i thought that the premise was promising, that was about it. i had a really hard time connecting with lucy as a character. i couldn't understand her motives for doing anything tbh. i usually love unlikeable heroine's, but lucy was just too much for me.
there was a lack of chemistry, and i really felt like zack deserved better. lucy was unnecessarily mean to him, and i really couldn't get over it. this didn't read like a typical romance usually does (more like literary fiction? idk) which is prob why i got bored. honestly, i don't think this one was worth picking up
What an adorable book! I was charmed by this story. I love the characters in this novel. Lucy is a career girl that sometimes gets it wrong. You will find yourself rooting for her throughout.
Zack may be just the thing lucy needs. Even though they may drive each other crazy I was so hoping they would end up together.
I also was so happy to meet the Lucy's grandma. I assumed she was deceased but I loved that little twist that she was still alive.
Pick up this perfect little Rom com today! I will be picking up more books by this author. Thank you to netgalley and bookouture for this arc ! I loved it .
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
I don't know why I expected this book to take place in NYC but I was very excited that it took place in Liverpool instead. Why? Just for the change of pace and getting to read a different writing style & trying to remember what different words mean!
This book is a fun time. It is very much enemies to lovers, and you can tell every time there is a shift in the relationship. The things they fight over is amusing, and much of the time you want to just yell at them to just talk to each other already! though you know it won't happen. Lucy did start to frustrate me with some of her workaholic tendencies and jumping to conclusions, but she does get better. Zack is just....Zack. This was a nice, quick read that was a pleasant getaway for a couple days, and I wouldn't be upset to go back to this world and revisit some of these characters.
Lucy and Zack start as enemies who decide to buy a house together. They buy Lucy’s childhood home where her grandmothe raised her. Zack is a hippy who teaches yoga and Lucy storms out of yoga class. Lucy goes to the showing of her grandmothers house and realizes that Zack is trying to buy “her house.” They end up going in together with Lucy footing the down payment and Zack making the monthly payments. They learn a lot along the way and quickly go from enemies to lovers.
I loved this cute story of Lucy chasing her dream and Zack being there to support her and mellow her out. They are the perfect opposites attract story.
I really was intrigued by the cover and description. But I just couldn’t finish the book the beginning was stretched out for so long I couldn’t muster up the courage to complete it. To be honest I couldn’t find something to really intrigue the reader.
I was 50% and I couldn’t complete the rest unfortunately. But I really do like the authors writing style but it could be used for a better story line. I just feel like Zack and Lucy’s dynamic just didn’t translate well.
I couldn’t relate nor understand Lucy’s perspective and how she approved things.
I really did like Zack but I just don’t think Lucy’s personality fits with Zack and they just weren’t a match in my opinion.
I'm sorry to say this, but I really didn't like this book. I had to force myself to finish this one, and even then I mostly skimmed through the book. Initially, I gave this a 2-star, but I sat on it and thought that I didn't even like it enough that it would garner 2 stars so I had to downgrade it to a 1-star.
All the characters were annoying. Yes, all of them. They were all so annoying. I really wanted to like Lucy, but I just couldn't. She was portrayed to be this strong and independent woman. That's great and all, but she was written in a way that she was insufferable and immature. Although I don't like Zack's character too, he wasn't as annoying as Lucy.
Also, this was supposedly an enemies-to-lovers type of book, but they were never really enemies. This was just mainly Lucy getting mad and being rude at Zack because of what she thought he thought. She was being so judgemental towards him, this was not the strong and independent woman I was hoping to read about.
I didn't really like the characters, there wasn't that much chemistry between Zack and Lucy, and I feel like the conflict towards the end was just resolved too quickly.
I was really excited for this one because of the description, sadly it didn't live up to my expectations.
Firstly I’d like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC ❤️❤️
I really wanted to like Stuck With Him. The premise, the synopsis and the cover art all enticed me in and I was so excited to get stuck in and I just couldn’t do it 😅😅 I got about 25% in and then DNFed unfortunately. I just didn’t like Lucy at all. From the get go at her best friends wedding she came across as super selfish and unlikeable and I just couldn’t get passed that 😅😅
What I read has so much potential and I was to really emphasise that for other readers!! I think that lots of people will like it and I definitely think they should give it a go, but for me Lucy just really wasn’t a match ❤️❤️ ⭐️⭐️
Stuck With Him by Danielle Owen-Jones is about Lucy and Zack who go from strangers to enemies and housemates. They are complete opposites. Lucy is a workaholic who never relaxes and Zack is laid back and doesn’t take much seriously. What could possibly go wrong when these two not only start living together but buy the house together?!
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Lucy after her actions at the beginning of the book in relation to her friend, Katie. Katie is a much more forgiving friend than I think I could ever be. This book had the enemies to lovers theme but I would say that an even bigger theme of this book was Lucy’s attempt at personal growth. At times I thought I would like her more but I never actually started liking her. There wasn’t a ton of emphasis on the enemies to lovers/romance plot until about three quarters into the book. Zack had golden retriever boy energy and I liked him for the most part. The ending felt a little rushed because there hadn’t been a lot of romantic build up.
This was a quick read and had some moments that I enjoyed despite not falling in love with the characters but it was not quite the book for me. ⭐️⭐️/5 from me.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Lucy is a driven woman, focused on growing her business. But her friend(s) say she’s a workaholic, and after an incident at a bachelorette party (hen party) those so-called friends actually tank her business. Then another incident at her friend’s wedding threatens her lifelong friendship with her best friend. Zack is about as laidback as they come. He’s Lucy’s new meditation/ yoga instructor…and she loathes him. They go together like oil and water, so naturally they end up buying a house together! Stuck With Him was a really fun enemies to lovers rom-com. I liked both main characters right away (identified with Lucy more than Zack) and thought the story of the two opposites learning to live together was a lot of fun. Thanks so much to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Stuck With Him.

I have a tendency to request romance books on Netgalley based on the cuteness of their covers. Sometimes, it has paid off. Sometimes it has not. Stuck With Him falls into the latter. I'd say the opening few pages were really funny and I was drawn into the story, but after that, it was just...bad. The main character was written to be 'quirky'. The reason I put quirky in quotes is Lucy was anything but that. She was quirky to an extent it became insufferable. And her friend group? They were even worse. It was horrible how they treated Lucy and screwed up her business. If it were me, I would have cut off those friends immediately. Something that also did not sit right with me is how rude Lucy was treating Zack, her love interest. And honestly Zack was nothing special either. I could not see any chemistry between them, not with the way they behaved with each other.
From the premise the story sounded like something I would enjoy, but it just was a major-major disappointment for me.
I wanted to love this new read by Danielle Owen-Jones, but unfortunately, this was dishearteningly disappointing.
I usually enjoy reading books with the main character named 'Lucy.' I like to match our characteristics and if the fictional 'Lucy' has any similarities to me. This 'Lucy' and I couldn't be more worlds apart, much like her and Zack, (Ziggy) in this enemy-to-lovers storyline. I couldn't grasp why she was hating on him so much from the offset, it was all very over the top for my preferences.
The storyline was unrealistic, making it hard to relate to and connect with the characters. Although it lacked excitement, I did manage to finish this. The comical scenes were the best parts of this read, making this a two-star read, rather than a one.
Sorry to say, this book wasn't for me, but could still appeal to other rom-com readers.
Danielle's writing style has delighted me. It's simple, fresh and very easy to read. It is a very tender and light story. I would recommend it to alternate with denser reads.
I think Lucy and Zack complement each other very well and are the perfect counterpoint for each other.
It is an ideal proposal if you are starting to read in English because the level is quite affordable and the chapters are read in no time.
For how short it is (327 pages), I think both the main story and the subplots are quite well developed (the granny 🥺💕). Still, I would have liked to see a bit more development of the main characters.
I confess that I liked Zack better than Lucy -who I found somewhat insufferable at times- but I liked seeing her evolution and how she manages to escape from her obsession with work.
Despite this, I did not end up connecting with either of the two protagonists (although that is personal since I did not feel identified with either of them and it was difficult to empathize) and at certain times I felt that the story was deflated.
For my taste the first part of the story happens very slowly and then rushes towards the end.
However, I enjoyed the book and it was a fun and easy read.

Life seems to be going well for Lucy Clark, as she is finally bringing in a consistent income from her interior design business. That is, until she was fired by most of her big clients as a result of an email mishap made by her intoxicated friends at her best friend's hen party. When she nearly missed her bestfriends' wedding vow because she chose to take a call in the midst of the ceremony, she promised to her that she would attend a yoga class to help with her workaholic tendencies. Then she meets Zack, a meditation facilitator a.k.a. the yoga instructor, with a laid-back and zen personality, whom she finds particularly irritating. When her childhood home goes on the market, she also learns that Zack is interested in buying it. Unfortunately, neither of them could qualify for it on their own, so he convinced her to buy the house with him and live there as roommates.
After a four-month reading slump, this is the first book I've finished in one sitting. I started reading it after dinner, and I finished it at three in the morning. I usually act in this manner when I am enjoying a book. The premise appeals to me, especially seeing as I enjoy the enemy-to-lover trope. But I would say Zack wasn't an enemy, in my opinion; in fact, he was a rather charming person. Unlike Lucy, she's gone rude, cynical, and confrontational about anything he does. However, I genuinely understand why she acted that way; it was a defense mechanism she employed to prevent repeating the same mistake. In all honesty, I'll probably end up guarded like her. However, there were a few aspects that I didn't find satisfactory. In my opinion, it lacks something which I can't quite put my finger on, preventing me from giving it five stars. In any case, I liked how I felt after finishing this book, so hopefully it will keep me motivated to read.
Thank you to the Author, NetGalley & the publisher, Bookouture for providing an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Stuck with Him ARC Review by: Danielle Owen Jones 43/50📚
Thank you @bookouture for sending me this food read by Danielle Owen Jones. Stuck with you is a cute rom com love story of Lucy and Zaxk. Two people that fell in love with purchasing the same house for different reasons a cute good home town feel rom com.
⚜️Can everyone read?
📚Yes
⚜️Would I recommend?
📚Yes
I honestly didn't expect to lovers this as much as I did! Lucy was very annoying to me at first but I honestly pitied her cause I know the feeling of needing to have everything perfect and seeing life from the working perspective only so she grew fast on me. I loved how her relationship with zack developed it was so great seeing them go from hatred to tolerance and finally love. Their scenes together were so heartwarming seeing how zack changed Lucy so much and helped her find herself. Also loved the little plot twist at the end. The side characters were a sweet add to the story too how each was a key one in Lucy and zack's story. Would definitely recommend this for a quick funny summer read I guarantee it guys you won't regret it!
Thank you for netgalley and the publisher for giving me a free copy to review and that was my honest opinion.
4⭐️ - A cute, closed door contemporary romance that made me laugh and was just an all round fun & cheesy read
Thank you to Netgalley and Booktoure for an e-ARC of Stuck With Him in return for an honest review.
This was a classic feel good rom com: it was pretty predictable and a little bit ridiculous (who buys a house with a stranger?!) but honestly in the best way because it meant that this book fulfilled its purpose- it made me feel good, it made me laugh and it made me smile.
It also had other classic rom com tropes: enemies to lovers, miscommunication and idiots in love!
As crazy as buying a house with a stranger is as a concept, it did make for a really cool and somewhat unique premise which was interesting, especially when you throw enemies-to-lovers in the mix!
I have to reference a quote from the book in my review because it just made me laugh out loud when I read it- classic sassy sarcasm 🤣
‘But at least his teasing, and the fire alarm, had distracted us from the undeniably charged moment between the two of us when I was wedged into a skip- the setting of all great modern romances.’
One of my only criticisms for this book is that at first, until Liverpool was mentioned, it felt very much like the main character was American and the book was set in America. It was only for a few chapters but it meant it took me longer to gel with Lucy and it took a while to get a strong sense of her character and identity (other than the overwhelming extreme workaholic flaw which was very obvious!)
I was really excited for this one. The whole concept with this book had me ready to dive in and love it all. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it past 35%. I picked up this book and put it down too many times in hopes of actually getting into it but I can only give it so many chances.
To start with, Lucy’s workaholic personality was ridiculous. I have nothing against women who are career driven and passionate about succeeding in books but Lucy couldn’t disconnect. To the point where she couldn’t even be there for her “best friend”. Hiding out working during the bachelorette and then choosing to pick up a business call right before her “best friend” walked down the isle. Missing half of the actual ceremony. I’m sorry.. what? Friendships in books are one of my favorite dynamics. They don’t have to be perfect but I love reading about a genuine platonic connection. The book was already off to an irritating start.
I tried to give Lucy a chance but she was so.. flat. And I truly felt nothing for Zack. It was just there. There was a part of me that wanted to continue to see more of Zack, and maybe even love him but, it was lack luster. I felt no emotions, no enthusiasm to see more. This one just was not for me.
