If you’re a prospective leader and much of this is new or thought-provoking, you are in the dark.
It’s repetitive and doesn’t offer much new information.
I am sorry that I can't give a great review for this book. Sorry, it just wasn't for me. I am sure others will love it though.
This book is most certainly a modern take on leadership. It covers our lives during and post Covid, as well as the trends toward more flexible work environments that were the outcome of that.
An informative read, designed for current leaders.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for graciously allowing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Some very thoughtful examples and ideas for business leaders, though probably not for a more general audience. It seemed a bit repetitive and tedious at times, then got interesting again. I'm not sure I'll remember anything about this a month from now. Maybe that is a product of listening to it rather than listening as most of the reviews thus far are quite positive. The narration was fine.
This was interesting, clearly not written for me but in a good way. Glad I read this I don't know why you just not in to it
Opens with a vague idea on the importance and value on transformational leadership. After the introduction and first chapter I was left feeling like I wouldn’t glean any new insights from continue to listen so I stopped. What is the big idea here? And where is the leadership experience or science backing it?
“Lift: Fostering the Leader in You Amid Revolutionary Global Change” is a great book to read for every leader/manager out there, whether acting or to be. Through his book, Faisal Hoque captures the essence of what it means to be a transformational leader in a world which continuously keeps to reinvent itself and what it takes to stay relevant.
The topic covered range from those connected with hard skills, such as Industry 4.0 technologies and STEM education, all the way to more soft skills aptitudes needed for a 21st century leader, such as: the ability to deliver presentations, interpersonal relationship building, and people-oriented skills.
Special thanks to NetGalley, Greenleaf Audiobooks, Fast Company Press, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.
