I've been obsessed with New York City for my entire life, so I was excited to read this book. I enjoyed getting an insider's view into the realities of living in the city. It was unique and I liked the combination of cartoons and short essays. Thanks for letting me read it!
A cute, fun toe-dip into the trials and tribulations of living in New York City.
This charming little illustrated text is essentially just the same jokes you’ve heard a million times if you’re a long time New Yorker, but it would make a great gift for someone who is planning or has recently moved to the city.
Come for the pizza rat jokes, stay for the all-too-real accounts of getting lost trying to use the subway and learning the vibe of various neighborhoods and methods of transit.
For the most part the written content is actually funnier and more well crafted than the illustrations, though both have their moments. The shorter segments tend to be better (skip the overlong lists and the imagined dialogue exchanges) and enjoy this fun spin around the city for newbies.
As someone who is also obsessed with New York City, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to read this book. This book is a love/hate letter to NYC told through lists, pictures, and short stand alone paragraphs covering all things NYC including the various living, dating, and social situations that you will inevitably find yourself in while living in the city, Although this book does discuss my biggest fear (the suburbs) the book was a quick and entertaining read and I would recommend it to anybody living here.

I Love(ish) New York City is a really fun book full of cartoons, quizzes, lists, and writing about the ups and downs of living in NYC. I loved the variety of funny topics specific to the city. A perfect gift for any NYC resident, whether they've been there 10 days or 10 years.
First off, I must confess, I love New York. I mean, if I could afford to I would pack up and move there in half a second. So of course this book caught my eye. And I have zero regrets!
This book is a fun, sarcastic love (hate?) — no, definitely love letter to NYC. I loved the cartoons and variety of writing styles in this book. There’s hilarious explanations of dating in NYC, finding an apartment, restaurants, and much more. I think my favorite was the parody of the Thanksgiving parade. This book is everything I’d hoped it would be. I can’t wait to get a physical copy when it’s released.
