First of all, if I could give this book more than five stars, I would. It is just a delightful romantic story. The characters are so likable…the antique mall adds to the novel…this reads like nonfiction but is definitely a romantic fiction book…I liked this book…I really liked this book…the protagonist is quirky…kind…good…funny…her love interest doesn’t seem to have a clue sometimes…her sister is jealous…her parents caring…the aunt in the story is delightful…there is a myriad of characters and ages…even little twins…I could not put this book down…the timeline is linear which I enjoy…no language or explicit scenes for which I am always thankful…just a great romance for an afternoon…cuddle up in a cozy chair…get a cup of steaming herbal tea and be carried away…or sit relaxed in a chair by the gorgeous ocean…just read and have fun…this book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. Please please have more books by this author. Here we go…five stars plus…
Something Old, Something New was a sweet, refreshing book and an enjoyable read. Both of the main characters, Brent and Christine, were likeable and caused you to want to root for them to get together. I love antique stores and especially those with booths covering all sorts of items so it was fun that Christine was the owner of one of those stores, and I feel a different type of job than I’ve seen in other books. I also enjoy (watching, not doing) home renovation and liked the descriptions of the work Brent was doing for Aunt Midge. I wish there had been a little more development with his dad instead of a sudden change of heart. Also, it was concerning how much Britney was hung up on a high school relationship that was over ten years ago, especially as she’s married with kids.. She needed to be put in her place a little more than she was. Ultimately, it’s a cute feel-good read that I recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I love Amy Clipston novels and this is no exception. She writes in such a clean, and lovely way that is often not seen in todays society. I really enjoyed this read and quickly got through it! Definitely look forward to more novels by Amy Clipston.
This was a sweet book. I really liked the story of Christine and Brent and their chance at a relationship with each other. Loved learning about each character's past and their respective passions/professions. Loved the side characters (especially feisty Aunt Midge!) and the small town setting. It was very clean, with zero spice written between the MCs. The writing was a little cheesy at times, so I didn't give it five stars, but it was a solid 4-1/2 stars for me (not an option on here, so 4 stars it is).

This was a cute romance story, I'm new to Amy Clipston's books and I am a new fan. I really enjoyed her style of writing.
A sweet, romantic read! Something Old, Something New by Amy Clipston was a fabulous, sweet read. I loved the story and the characters. Highly recommend!
SOMETHING OLD SOMETHING NEW by AMY CLIPSTON is a most enjoyable romance novel in which we see how the return to Flowering Grove of her twin sister Britney’s ex boyfriend and famouse quarterback, Brent Nicholson, affects Chhristine Sawyer. Christine has lived in her sister’s shadow most of her life and sees herself as the nerdy twin, but that doesn’t stop her from being happy and successful.
Brent feels like a failure after dropping out of college when a knee injury ends his football career and his father never stops criticising him for failing to live up to his expectations. Another person who bad mouths him, falsely accusing him of cheating on her, is the beautiful but self absorbed Britney.
Two people who stand up for Brent are his great aunt Midge, whose house he is restoring for her, and Christine, who sees how kind and clever he is. His good looks don’t hurt as well!
The title of the book fits the theme perfectly in more ways than one …….
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my owb.
QOTD: "Christine, I can't imagine why your mother would make you feel bad from being different from your sister. You're a successful business owner and a wonderful person. You're also as beautiful as Britney is, if not more beautiful because of how humble you are. "
This was the sweetest thing that Brent has said, not only was he attracted to her not he saw the best in her 🥺.

A sweet story about Christine and Brent learning to appreciate what's in front of them. This book was a great depiction of never giving up on one's dreams, Brent was the meaning of that, despite his injury he was able to find himself. Falling in love with Christine was the biggest blessing for him ❤️. Although amidst all of the amazing discovery, I felt there was a small spark missing. But this was a lovely book 🌻💕.
I really enjoyed Christina and Brent's story. I'm glad she stood up for herself for him and that he finally saw his true worth. This wasn't a second chance romance but a 10 year wait.
Brent is a Christine’s twin sister’s ex-boyfriend. So, as much as she doesn’t want to fall in love with him while he’s in town helping his aunt remodel her house, she does. While I liked the storyline, I felt myself wanting to skip through parts of the book because it was repetitive and drawn out. Cute book, but I would’ve loved it more if different detail would have been added or it was cut down to take away the repetition.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.".

I just love small town stories with the heroine running her own business. In this story we have Christine and she runs an antique store. It was a shared dream she had with her nana who has passed on. Running this shop is her passion and she's good at it. Christine is a fraternal twin to Brittany which Christine thinks is the pretty one. Christine considers herself the nerdy twin.. Brent comes into town to help his great aunt who is more like a grandmother to him, renovate her home so she can sell it. She wants to downsize and move into a condo.. Brent runs into Christine and Christine offers to help Brent and his aunt go through antiques in the home to sell in her shop. Brent used to date Christine's sister in high school and Britany is not happy at all that Christine and Brent are getting close. She thinks Brent cheated on her. I love it that Christine stood up to her sister and did not let her sister bully her into dropping Brent as a friend. Everyone in town saw that Christine and Brent were developing feelings for each other. I just loved Brent's aunt. She was one of the first who saw it coming but Brent did not feel like he was good enough for Christine. He had no money, was out of a job and he did not finish college. Loved it when he realized the error of his ways. Loved the ending. Just sad the story had to end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
This is a feel good story where Christine and her twin sister Britney rehash their growing up years when Britney seemed to be the star and Christine was the wallflower. Both are beautiful but have different personalities. Brent is back in town, He was Britney's boyfriend all through High School and they were the "IT" couple but Britney is married now and Brent is attracted to Christine. They all three have to reexamine the past and see what went wrong and who they are now. It's a fun story on top of all that angst so I recommend this book. Amy Clipston always produces good stories.
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.
Proof that Ms Clipston can write about more than Amish.
I enjoyed this book and the relationships between the characters. Aunt Midge was a favorite!
Sweet and clean.
A very fairy tale romance but I enjoyed it more than expected. Nothing felt surprising or new but it was well written and I enjoyed it.
Cutesy romance, super clean and not graphic at all. The friends to lovers trope is one I enjoy a lot but this one seemed a little too drawn out - a bit too much of the “wishful thinking” aspect. The characters are good, I really liked Chris and Brent overall. Just wish they had more spine to admit their feelings sooner.
This is a very well written and sophisticated romance book! I genuinely enjoyed this heartfelt book. If you’re looking for a cute romance that can teach us that everything happens for a reason and that everything will work out for the better; this one is for you!
A very sweet, heartwarming romance “Something Old, Something New”, by Amy Clipston (Thomas Nelson - FICTION), features two very relatable leads in an engaging setting and shows how hard their path to happiness is.
I really liked how Brent and Christine developed a friendship/connection and how attraction, chemistry and something deeper infiltrated the process ever so slowly.
Both have a history of being belittled and yet they are loving and generous; and I just loved this about their personalities.
The way the author depicted the hero’s vulnerabilities and insecurities shows a beautiful soul and made him endearing, besides his obvious handsomeness.
Brent is a fabulous Beta hero almost until the end, when I felt he became too defeatist, fatalistically seeing himself as a failure. But he surely is a wonderful departure from the usual Alpha male.
Those untamed dark curls are fabulous and give a fantastic visual image of him combined with other aspects Amy Clipston skillfully conveys.
I also liked that Christine stood up for Brent in general and in the particular issue of the former relationship with Britney.
Christine is also a great heroine, a rounded multidimensional character.
There are various obstacles for the hero and heroine to overcome and I really enjoyed that they aren’t the standard, beautiful, successful and super self-assured leads (even Christine has to fight fiercely for her prosperous business).
Besides appreciating the writing style, I enjoyed the interactions between the leads and the side characters.
I also liked the small town setting and the community of Flowering Grove and the side characters.
The resolution both with Brent’s father and Christine’s sister felt somewhat sudden, but I liked that they finally changed their ways.
At one point near the end I felt Brent’s feelings of lack of worth due in part to his father’s disappointment in him get repetitive.
Very well written inspirational romance. Great plot and character dynamics. I throughly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it. Many thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook.
A fairy tale love story. Brent returns to his hometown and finds the sister of his high school romance. Can they get past the family problems and find love?
