Olivia Dade can do no wrong in my book! Her romances (and particularly her heroes) are always so fun to read about. I love romances featuring TV/Hollywood personalities, and needless to say, SHIP WRECKED definitely delivered!
Fun, Sexy and Refreshing! That's what I would use to describe this one. I fell in love with the cover and the book did not disappoint!
One of the best romance writers in the game. Never disappoints, always brings it. Could not love her work more.
Of the three books in this series, I both enjoyed this one the most and thought it was the slowest burn of all time. It took me ages to finish this book, I don't even want to say because it was boring but it did feel like it took forever to get to the point. I liked how at the end the 3 books merged together with the climaxes happening all around the same time. Peter's insecurities got on my nerves through the whole book if we're all being honest with each other.
Two actors on a Game of Thrones-esque show falling in loving? Sign me up,
This was such a fun read and my first Olivia Dade book. The tension and the 'he falls first' trope were so well done. I will definitely be reading their other books after this!
Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
This was fun, but I’m glad this series is over because my GOD am I tired of the thinly veiled references to Game of Thrones. Yes we’re all aware it ended terribly but it’s also been YEARS! It kind of ruined the experience for me.
I usually love Olivia Dade books, but I was not a fan of this one. I found the romance to be way too much smut without any substance, I found it to be boring with poor pacing, and the random time jump in the middle did not help either. Sorry not my jam :/
There's something so enchanting about Olivia Dade's characters. Is it because I can relate to them, despite not having any of the same accomplishments? Maybe! I loved this pairing; Maria and Peter were the perfect duo. I absolutely love a hero who waits as long as the heroine needs, even if it's six years. Peter is patient and compassionate. Mutual pining? Film sets? Remote locations? What more could you want from a romance novel, truly?
This author is one of my favorite authors. I will read anything she writes. I love this series and I love this book. Maria and Peter have one steamy night together. When Peter wakes up Maria is gone never to be seen again or so he thinks. Peter is an actor. As he waits for his next audition guess who walks in?? Now that they are working on Gods of the Gates together they cannot be lovers. No matter how much they might want to be. Fast forward six years and the end of the show is now. Can they become more than friends or will their plans get in the way of their happiness? I love the body positivity in this book. The author writes it into all her books. I definitely feel seen. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
This was absolutely a 5 star read, and being that it's by Olivia Dade, I expected no less! I've loved all of the books in this series, and will not be picking a favorite, please and thank you. It's best to go into these blind, so good luck!
This was such a fun continuation of the Spoiler Alert universe!! It delivered a captivating romance between Peter, a brooding actor, and Maria, a confident Swedish actress. Their chemistry sizzles from the start, even as unresolved tensions from a past one-night stand threaten their on-screen partnership in a new TV series. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic evolves beautifully into a heartfelt friendship, tinged with palpable romantic tension. The author skillfully explores their journey from adversaries to lovers amidst the backdrop of a potential long-term filming commitment and personal differences about their futures. The story is enriched by humorous group chats with beloved characters from previous books, adding depth and continuity to the series. I definitely recommend!!! So fun.
I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
"I suppose it doesn't hurt that I love you too. Even though I'm forced to carry around an extremely heavy jar of herring at all times to keep you in line."
Ship Wrecked is the third book within the Spoiler Alert series. Just like the previous two, this one was equally adorable and hard to put down. In this, you will meet Maria and Peter. Sure, they had a one-night stand and some communication problems, but details. They were made for each other. Or at least they were going to eventually find that out.
The romance between these two was enjoyable and sometimes steamy. They didn't really have that much drama to deal with, other than miscommunication and taking forever to realize what they both wanted and could work towards.
Other than that, I really liked how we got to see characters from previous books and see what happened from Maria's and Peter's points of view. I also liked how they were all imperfectly themselves and so easy to like. I definitely enjoyed reading this series and getting to know all the characters on a much deeper level.
In the end, I will definitely dive back into this series in the near future.
Ship Wrecked by Olivia Dade is a perfect fit for readers who adore lighthearted, emotional, and romantic stories about strong-willed characters, particularly those who appreciate slow-burn romances, plus-size representation, and the behind-the-scenes world of acting, as this book masterfully weaves together a tale of second chances, self-discovery, and the power of love to transform lives.
I picked this book put multiple times but I had the hardest time connecting or caring about these characters. I imagine others will enjoy this book, it just was not for me. I will not be posting about my review on my social media accounts.
I'll start this off by saying that I did not read the first two in the series but I got this book on NetGalley so I just went for it.
I didn't realize how spicy this book would be, right from the start even.
I did enjoy the plus size representation and all the body positivity talk in the book.
This kind of felt a bit all over the place, maybe that was a me thing, it just didnt keep me interested, I thought it was boring.
The characters didnt have a ton of depth.
And the pacing was pretty consistent, for the most part. As in boring throughout the book.
I seem to be part of the minority that didnt really enjoy the book so much. But thats okay, to each their own.
I liked this book a lot but it does feel very much like the other books in the series. I recognize that’s the point but it was just a little too formulaic for me to love. Still, I wasn’t disappointed with it and something you need a good “comfort food” read!
Olivia dade ship wrecked, for some reason I just couldn’t get into this book. I don’t know what it was, I felt it was slow and taking me forever to get into the book. I hope in the future I can pick up another Olivia dade book and read it. I tried ship wrecked and just couldn’t get into it.
This was a cute book and Dade didn’t disappoint. I like her characters and even through there’s always a misunderstanding, it gets resolved without too much drama.
This book was so fun! I love the plus size main character and the representation in this book not only for the female main character but the male as well. It is always nice to see different bodies portrayed in books
Love Olivia Dade’s books and especially this series. A charming and escapist rom-com about fandom and finding love in unexpected places.
