The Spoiler Alert series is my not-so-guilty pleasure even though I'm far from the target demo. I've never been to a Con, I've never written or read fanfic, and my interest in TV these days is passing at best. But I love these books and the third installment, Ship Wrecked is a wonderful addition to the series. A huge thanks to NetGalley and Avon for hooking me up with an ARC.

In the first two books we briefly met Gods of the Gates stars Peter and Maria, but we dive deep into their backstory this time around. The previous books take place just as Gods is ending, but Ship Wrecked begins at the very beginning of Peter and Maria's tenure on the show- the night before their final audition to be exact. The two meet, have an epic one-night-stand and fully expect never to see each other again... and the next morning they walk into the biggest audition of their lives and come face to face with one another. Thanks to their already proven chemistry, they nail their roles. But rather than continue their romance during filming, the two keep it professional for the next 6 years- leading to off the charts sexual tension that bleeds into their performances and media appearances. Everyone thinks these two are dating. And when the show finally finishes filming...

I adored these characters and seeing how their love story comes together. As always, Dade gives us fantastic body-positive characters that are charming, sexy, and confident. And the banter is top-notch! And the romance... 5 alarm fire hot!!! Highly recommended!!

Olivia Dade is an always read author for me. I love the fat rep she has in her stories. These characters are fat. It is not the whole story though. There is so much more to these characters. Them being fat is just part of who they are just like Maria has blonde hair. The love and care Olivia Dade gives her characters is amazing. They are dynamic and memorable for so many reasons not just because they are fat.

Maria and Peter have that instant attraction. It does not take long or much for them to make a move on that attraction.

One night is all they get, immediately after spending the night together Maria leaves without saying goodbye.

Peter is back but this time he is cast as her co-star on Gods of the Gates. The co-star she’ll be filming with…on an isolated island…for six seasons.

We get glimpses of Maria and Peter in Spoiler Alert. They are the story I have been desperate for. I loved that they are lovers turned friends which is not a trope we get very often. There is a care they have for each other that is only feed by the chemistry they create when together. Because of the course of their relationship this is very much a slow burn romance. This is a very character-driven story as is expected from this author. Peter and Maria are not perfect but when together they are electric.

Overall, this was a great story and romance. I have really enjoyed this series. I love the fanfic aspects along with the Hollywood Chaos. f you are looking for a lower spice romance with create characters I would absolutely recommend this book and series.

I fell in love with this series. I wanted to take Ship Wrecked in all at once because it was so hard to put away. It keeps a good pace, it's funny, emotional, hot, and just good storyteller. I was nervous about the conflict but I should not have been.
I also love how fanfid is addressed through the whole series. Each book feels like fandom from a different view and yessss

Ok. I did give it a couple of tries and I couldn't connect with the MFC - Maria. She was so uptight in a liberal way that blew my mind away. I am always in for a heroine that knows what she wants, but she got to a point where I wished for Peter to dump her and find himself another lady.

I received this as an advanced reader.

Overall, I enjoyed this read! Maria and peter have one night together before Maria leaves without a word, hurting Peter. However, they later find out that they will be co-stars on a tv show for SIX YEARS, where Peter does want to risk ruining the relaxed environment the crew has. Still, they manage to find their way to each other in the end. One of my favorite parts about this book is how Maria stands up for herself to the show runners, and has a beautiful confidence in herself that I one day wish to have. The social commentary about weight is artfully woven into the plot, and really adds to the story, rather than just being thrown in.

The reason I took off two stars is simply because, while I was investing in their relationship, I wasn’t invested in the characters. Peter felt kind of flat, and really only came alive around Maria. Would I recommend this book? Yes, but only under certain conditions that this fits the tropes they want.

Thank you so much to Avon/Harper Voyager and Olivia Dade for the opportunity to read and review this book!!

Ship Wrecked is book 3 in the Spoiler Alert series and follows two of the other actors from the hit TV show, Maria and Peter. While this book is a standalone, you’ll get the most benefit from it by reading Spoiler Alert and All The Feels first. This book starts from their first meeting and spans through their time together on the hit GoT-style show. This book has lots of fun elements from the first books, like the group text messages with the other actors and the fanfic - which was always super fun!!

Maria and Peter were wonderful together! Both smaller actors that caught their big break with their roles in this show! It has lots of my favorite tropes like forced proximity, Oh sh*t - I had a One Night Stand and Now We’re Coworkers, mutual pining and total Grumpy/Sunshine vibes!

Overall - a solid 4 stars! I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a fantastic addition to the others in the series! Definitely lots of spice in this book, so 4 flames as well!!

Ship Wrecked is the third installment of the Spoiler Alert series. While technically these books could be read as stand-alones, it's better to read them in order because characters makes appearances throughout the series and it has more impact if you have read each book.

This book follows Peter and Maria who we meet in All the Feels. A one night stand turns into an audition from hell turns into 6+ years of working on a series together. I gotta hand it to Olivia, she does an amazing job of including all types of representation in her books. Both characters are plus sized, Peter is the cinnamon roll teddy bear who lost his mother early in life, and Maria is a foster/adopted child. I also SOBBED when they had the conversation about whether they would have kids in the future. I felt so seen! I truly appreciated having the romantic characters make this decision that goes against the grain.

My only complaint would be the 3rd act breakup. I don't want to give away too many details, but I was irritated because it seemed unnecessary, especially when it had to do with their jobs. This is not new information for either of the characters. It just felt like a very selfish turn of events for this particular character to make.

Y'all I have to be honest, I have a girl crush. While I liked Petter, Maria was the shining star in this book for me. Maria is unabashedly confident, and has full control over her body autonomy. She doesn't give a crap what the men around her want from/think about her. She is ready to walk at any time if they try to force her to do something she doesn't want to do.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Ship Wrecked is the third book in the Spoiler Alert series by Olivia Dade. I loved the story! The characters are fantastic, the banter and dialogue are brilliant, and the romance is layered and filled with chemistry.

The story definitely endears you to Peter first as he feels the sting of rejection after a one-night stand with Maria. He’s so awkward, and his hurt is palpable, so I totally sympathized with him. Maria seems cold and selfish to leave him like that, but as the story progresses, you see a different side to Maria. You begin to understand why she did what she did. She proves to be kind and discerning, and she quietly helps and compliments others. She is also strong and knows her worth. She doesn’t let people treat her any less than she deserves to be treated, and I love that about her. She also has an uncanny ability to understand what people need, and she helps them achieve it. She does this with Peter a lot, especially in getting him to open up to his crew mates.

Maria and Peter’s story begins with one night together, but when forced to work in a remote location together for years, they end up developing g a lovely friendship. However, it’s super sexually charged, and you can tell they are in love with each other. They know each other so well, and they develop a strong bond. Both characters, at times, frustrated me with their actions and some of the things they said to each other. But it was relatable. They are flawed, and they make mistakes, but they both learn from them, show remorse, and grow from their mistakes.

Time together on set leads to a lot of angst and longing between Maria and Peter, and their sexual tension is off the charts! Their banter and chemistry are wonderful! Oh my gosh the way they tease each other and the way she pulls him out of his shell by just accepting him and showing him all the good she sees in him is beautiful. I love that they laugh together and have so much fun in each other’s company, and their comical and sweet moments are just as fantastic as their sexy times. Oof – The way they drool over each other’s plus-size bodies made my plus-size heart melt.

There are actually several romances in the story, each unique and lovely. And I love that the book includes text messages between the protagonists as well as a group chat between all of the cast members who work on the show in different locations. The conversations are hysterical and show how close they are all growing. They, as well as the crew on the island with the protagonists, form this unique and wonderful found family, which is fantastic.

I also adore the fat representation in the book. Maria is unapologetically positive about her plus size, and she becomes a voice and role model for fat people. She is sexy and proud and true to herself. She knows her worth and fights to have more fat representation in film regardless of the pressure impressed upon her. Plus-size women are often treated poorly, and she does not accept that even at the threat of her livelihood. Peter is big too, which I don’t often see in romances. Bring on the plus-size hunks!

This is such a wonderful contemporary romance. Funny, heartwarming, and sexy, the story has dynamically developed characters and strong messages about fighting for what you believe in, stepping out of your comfort zone, and loving yourself. Though it is the third book in the series, this can easily be read as a standalone. Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

This may be my favorite book in the Spoiler Alert universe. While I loved how Spoiler Alert played with fan fiction and fandom generally, this book veers largely away from that, leaving you with what is ultimately just a lovely romance.

This book starts off with a bang as we meet Maria and Peter in the midst of the hottest hookup of their lives. They both think they'll never see each other again but lo and behold, they're both auditioning for key roles on the same TV show. When they're cast as enemies-to-lovers characters who are stranded alone on an island, Peter and Maria struggle to deal with their attraction while actually filming for years on a remote island, isolated from the rest of the world. Vowing to keep it professional, these two are able to develop a genuine friendship, but all bets are off once filming wraps on the final season, six years after they first met.

What follows thereafter was one of the more mature romances I've read in recent memory. I really enjoyed seeing Maria and Peter deal with their individual issues and trauma together, and while there was certainly conflict that came up, it flowed very naturally and did not come at the expense of the depth of their feeling for each other. This book has pining and white hot chemistry and some truly romantic moments and I enjoyed every minute of it. I also loved that both Peter and Maria are fat characters, and I found how they both approached their career because of it to be such an interesting and compelling difference between them.

Based off the epilogue, it seems we might be done with the Spoiler Alert universe which I am ultimately fine with as I look forward to reading more from Olivia Dade outside this world.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC. All opinions are my own.

I received a free ARC of Ship Wrecked from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review!

Things I loved:
- THE FAT JOY — there was so much fat joy and body positivity in this book it melted my heart. Not just what was said between characters but how they saw each other.
- The chemistry 🌶🌶🌶🌶 my goodness, from beginning until the end, it was good smut.
- The plot behind the smut — I didn’t realize this was the third book in the series until about 15 minutes in. It didn’t impead my ability to enjoy this book.
- All the elements of Maria’s culture that was so lovingly added to the plot. I’ve seen this done wrong a lot of times, but MY GOODNESS Ship Wrecked delivered the cultural appreciation! I loved every moment, from the licorice to the Swedish fish! I won’t reveal anything else cause, spoilers!

Thing I didn’t love:
- When I say the last 5 chapters of this book almost killed it for me. I avoid contemporary romances specifically because they lean so heavily into third act break up trope. Unfortunately, this book fell into that trope and it made the last 5 chapters feel longer than the rest of the book.

I would still highly recommend this book and the series! It was spicy with a great plot to back it up. At the end of the day, isn’t that what we all want?

I received a copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Check out Ship Wrecked when it’s released, November 15th!

This is the third in the Spoiler Alert series from Olivia Dade and I loved every page of it! I’ve really come to enjoy Dade’s writing style. She is great at righting light-hearted, fast paced books with a good sprinkling of spice and a great cast of characters.

This story follows Maria and Peter, co-stars on the hit show God of the Gates, but before they were on screen together, they had one steamy night together as strangers. This story takes place over many years, starting with their one-night-stand and following the course of the next few years filming on a remote island together as ship wrecked cast mates. The pacing of the story was done pretty well, with the story developing but never feeling like we were being rushed even though time was going by quickly. There were a few times I felt it got a little slow, in fact, but overall it was a relatively fast paced book.

I loved Maria. She is a confident, strong woman who knows what she wants and who she is. She will not take any shit from anyone, and is a Swedish Goddess. She might be my favorite of the women from this series so far. Peter was a great MMC too, and for the first time, also a plus sized man! I loved that we got a fat male character as well, and while they touched on both of the characters larger sizes, it was always in a positive way and how attractive the softness was over their strength. Both Maria and Peter have difficult pasts that they have to deal with, and I felt this was done well both in how it was brought to light and how they worked through it.

I enjoyed getting to see some interactions with the characters from the other books, given that these two are on the show but don’t interact with any of the other cast members in the series (as they’re ship wrecked on an island far away from everyone else). We even got some jokes again from Alex (who still has my heart as my top Dade man), and got to meet some new characters as well.

I strongly recommend picking up this series if you haven’t already! A great representation for plus sized women of all shapes, and now of big men as well!

I've posted a review to Goodreads and will post a review to the instagram linked below the week before publishing.

We meet our two main characters as they begin a one night stand and circumstances force them together as they audition for two huge roles in a popular tv series. Once they are both cast in the roles, their one night stand leads to some awkwardness as they will be stranded on an island, filming with only a small crew, for several years.

Maria is a strong, confident woman who will absolutely speak out and advocate for herself, both professionally and personally. I really loved that about her character. She didn’t take shit from anyone. Peter is a man who has worked incredibly hard to get where he is, professionally, and doesn’t want anything to jeopardize his career and standing in Hollywood. This leads to some ruffled feathers, initially. But Peter shows that he can stick up for and support those he cares about, but in a less obvious way.

I enjoyed how Maria and Peter gradually opened themselves to their relationship. After working together and spending every day with each other for six years, they have a strong friendship. And they’re tired of fighting their romantic feelings. They both gradually reveal trauma from their past, and while it does cause the ultimate conflict in the book, they work through it and realize that neither of them were really compromising or giving any ground in their relationship. Which then leads to individual growth for both of them.

I really, really enjoyed this book. This entire series has been a win for me right from the beginning. I’m fairly certain this is the last book in this delightful series and I feel like it was a strong ending. 4.5 stars

Tropes: one night stand, second chance romance, forced proximity, friends to lovers, pining

I just love the way Olivia Dade writes bodies, particularly fat bodies. The joy and love and care she puts into writing is so evident. I loved Maria and Peter so much. Their problems felt real and powerful. I loved Maria’s wild family and the whole Gods of the Gate cast and crew around the story. I’m always hoping for more stories in this world, as these people are delightful.

I’ve ADORED this series and this installment was no exception. The banter, the badassery, and the steam were all incredible. I loved every minute of reading this book. If you haven’t read this series, you’re in for a treat! Maria’s a fantastic lead, able to stand up for herself and her values in a completely believable way. Peter’s so soft and gooey inside that I just want to give him a big hug. A wonderful book from start to finish.

Olivia Dade has done it again! Made me completely fall in love with two beautiful characters in a matter of chapters. I will continue to read all her books.

This is a book I’ve certainly been much in demand for, not only a complex, fat, & body positive female main character but ALSO a complex, fat, body positive male main character?!?! Um yes please, more of this please! Olivia Dade’s third installment in this series was great, less angsty than the previous one, a really fun and wonderful life story.

Thank you HarperCollins for this ARC of Ship Wrecked, I was incredibly excited to read this book as I had adored the other books in the Spoiler Alert series.

Is this my favorite of the Spoiler Alert series?! It may be! I love Marcus and April, and Alex and Wren too, but gosh Maria and Peter - the tension was perfect.

This book starts with a bang! No truly, it does - and what a way to grab your reader. From a one night stand to costars to lovers, a beautiful seeing on an Irish island and a bit of globe trotting, this book has everything I could have wanted.

As the third book in the series you get to revisit characters from the previous books and have Maria and Peter interwoven into some events from earlier books, something I always appreciate and hallmarks a well built world.

Maria and Peter have both been hurt terribly in their past by those that were supposed to love them, he's surly and has built up walls to protect his heart, while she's a ray of sunshine making a family of her fellow crew and cast, determined to get Peter to let others in. There's so many delightful things is like to mention but they're too good to spoil.

If you've read Spoiler Alert and All the Feels, there's no reason why you shouldn't already have this book pre-ordered, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't read the other two books, don't let that stop you. Yes you get to revisit characters from those books, but this can absolutely be read without that prior knowledge because so much of this story involves Maria and Peter isolated with a smaller film crew.

Olivia Dade has outdone herself with Ship Wrecked . This series has been a favorite of mine this year and I was thoroughly delighted to have an opportunity to read an advance copy of this incredible book. I look forward to more of her books in the future.

I loved this book so much. Dade not only writes some of the best smart-alecky characters I’ve ever read that will fall in love with them and even when they act like a skitstovel aka shit-boot (I have got to say Swedish curses are so much better that American ones), but always seems to perfectly balances the heavier topics (Check CWs) and light rom-com moments. It was also great to catch up with all the various characters not only from the other books in the series but to see such great HEA’s for the supporting characters who truly steal their scenes (I’m looking at you Carah!) One last thing, the pinning is perfection and the sex scenes are scorching. I can’t wait to see what Dade comes up with next. This is the third book in the Spoiler Alert series and can be read as a stand-alone, but if you’d like to start at the beginning check out Spoiler Alert, book one.

I received this eARC thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon in exchange for an honest review. Publishing dates are subject to change.

Ship Wrecked follows Maria and Peter, between who sparks fly the moment they meet. After one of the hottest and most memorable one night stands together, Maria leaves in the morning without saying goodbye, thinking she’ll never see Peter again anyway…only to meet him when he’s cast as her co-star for God of the Gates. The co-star she’ll be spending the next years filming with…on a remote island. Disgruntled, Peter wants nothing to do with Maria when the cameras aren’t rolling—but there’s only so many people you can talk to when you’re stuck on an island with a handful of people. As feelings of rejection turn to friendship to camaraderie and eventually to more, Peter and Maria will have to decide what’s more important: putting their career or their chance at a happily ever after first.

Leave it to Olivia Dade to start a book mid-hooking up and still deliver one of the most excruciating slow burns to readers everywhere. Talk about pent-up feelings, oh my.

Like the first two installments of the Spoiler Alert series, Ship Wrecked will make people with a love for fandoms grin like the Cheshire cat. Dade excels in writing character-driven stories and this was no different. Both Maria and Peter have quite a lot to work through on their own before they can reconcile their feelings for each other with who they are and what they are aiming for in life. Peter was so relatable with his desire to shine in the industry but struggling with actually connecting with people off-camera. I love me a socially inept character (because, well, it’s relatable) and it’s riveting to follow Peter become more comfortable in his own skin and learn to let others in. Maria, meanwhile, has her own struggles to overcome yet her rambunctious family and her own confidence and enthusiasm for life really make her chapters such a pleasure to read.

Their romance, of course, is an absolutely emotional rollercoaster. From pointed digs at the other in the beginning (Peter definitely knows how to hold a grudge) to begrudging respect for each other’s ambitions and talent to eventual moments that make your heart melt, their chemistry is undeniable. Following the characters as they try to avoid temptation only for them to eventually give in and deliver all the steam is going to be kryptonite for fans of the slow burn trope. What I also loved about them was that they are both fat (and look at that gorgeous cover again for a sec, please) and while they’re aware of the industry’s bias, it never interferes with their relationship. We need more representation like this, please.

Fans of the first two books will also love the cameos and laugh out loud at the shenanigans the Gods of the Gates cast gets up to since we follow Maria and Peter for years and get to kind of piece together where the other characters (and storylines) are while Maria and Peter are of course the focus. While I’m sad to see this series go, I think that readers will love this electric farewell to their beloved characters.

Filled with banter and tons of pining, Dade’s Ship Wrecked delivers an intense will-they-won’t-they type of love that is years in the making. Led by two protagonists as stubborn as they are ambitious, this emotional romance will fill readers with hope for their own happily ever after.
