So I didn’t love this as much as the other titles by the author that I’ve read, but it wasn’t bad. I don’t know what exactly was missing for me, but it was.
A satisfying conclusion to the saga. As ever, no one does interstitial material, inside jokes, or fat rep as well as Dade. The emphasis on the GOD OF THE GATES “found family” (except for Ian) was an especially sweet way to wrap up the series—and that watch party epilogue for the season finale was *chef’s kiss.*
4 stars!
The cover art for this book is soooo cute!! I read Spoiler Alert a year or so ago and thought it was very charming and so I was so excited when I got approved for the ARC of another installment in this series. I kinda loved how this book delved even further into the shows all these characters have been involved in and I really felt the chemistry between the two of them. I loved loved loved the female main character and I'm so excited for more that Olivia Dade writes!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Shipwrecked is part of a series that I have really enjoyed, and I liked this one a lot because it broke the mold of the first two. The second book felt very similar to the first, but this one is a completely different story with characters I really enjoyed. After a steamy one-night stand, two actors find out they will be working on a show together, filming on a remote island for the next six years. This story (like the two before it) had great plus-sized representation and body positivity, which was very refreshing to see in a popular romance series. I also really enjoyed how fleshed out the characters were. Overall, this was very enjoyable.
Two actors play a slow burn romance on a Viking’s like Game of Thrones show but try to deny their feelings off screen.
This book was so cute! I adored every moment of it. Maria (FMC) is so GD fierce. I love her. She doesn’t put up with anyone’s shit but stays so professional about it. She’s body positive & uses her platform to let everyone know, she’s fat and nothing is wrong with being fat. We start off in the middle of some bedroom action & what was meant to be a one night stand turns into a years slow burn due to them being cast on a fantasy show as love interests who are ship wrecked on a deserted island. The growth of both characters (especially Peter) was so well done and their banter on and off the screen are what all fan fiction writers thrive from.
I don’t read much contemporary romance but this hut the spot for me. I got a sprinkle of fantasy from their show roles and the usual romance aspects to a sweet contemporary romance. I can’t recommend this more!
Many thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a review.
I received an ARC copy from Avon publishing in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
It is sad to say that it took me this long to get to this book and read it. I enjoyed the banter and the chemistry that the main characters had together. I did not love the spice level however that was my person taste having nothing to do with the actual story itself. I thought that the author did a great job with these characters and making them interesting to read about. I felt like there was a little something missing from the plot but I cannot put my finger on exactly what it was. It just felt a little off. Overall, It was a fun read and enjoyed most of it. The spice level is high in this one if you are a non-spice reader look out!
Maria's one-night-stand--the thick-thighed, sexy Viking of a man she left without a word or a note--just reappeared. Apparently, Peter's her surly Gods of the Gates co-star, and they're about to spend the next six years filming on a desolate Irish island together. She still wants him...but he now wants nothing to do with her. Peter on the hand, realizes that he will not give up a lead role for a lady. He knows this role could finally transform him from a forgettable character actor into a leading man. He also knows a failed relationship with Maria could poison the set, and he won't sabotage his career for a woman who's already walked away from him once. Given time, maybe they can be cooperative colleagues or friends--possibly even best friends--but not lovers again. No matter how much he aches for her. A few years later, one night their chemistry explodes into a hot mess once again. However, this time they still have not figured out what the future holds for them since they are both going their separate ways. Maria's heading back to Sweden and Peter is heading to Hollywood. Will they figure out a way to make this work?
Content: On page sex scenes that are graphic, had to skip through those scenes (because of my own person taste).

This is my first book by this author, and well I did like it, I didn’t love it as much as I was expecting to. I have heard amazing things about this book and the author in general. While this book wasn’t for me, I can definitely see why others enjoyed this - this also won’t be my last from this author.
This is the third book in a series, and while you could technically read them out of order, I do wish I would have read the previous two beforehand. There were some things I was confused about that I’m sure were discussed in the other books.
I did enjoy the second chance trope, but I just didn’t connect with the characters or their chemistry. I will say, this book had a great representation of plus-size characters.
While this book wasn’t a fav for me, there were still moments I fairly enjoyed. I do want to go back and read the first two books.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Avon for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

The plot and synopsis pulled me in despite not having great luck in the past with Olivia Dade romances. I struggle with connecting with her characters. Maria and Peter were no exceptions. The pacing was completely off and it was difficult to be invested in the story with such confusing timelines. I just couldn't grow to care about these characters at all.
While it’s book 3 in a series, you don’t need to necessarily read the other 2 for background on the characters. I love the inclusion of a plus-size FMC & the complete adoration the MC has for her. I love that this book shows that plus size women also have this wonderful experiences—one night stands included
I think this book and the writing style were just not up my alley. I had to DNF it at around 40%. I was excited for the whole aspect of it, and though it took me a while, I just could not push through with the rest of the book unfortunately.
Ship Wrecked is the third book in a trilogy and silly me requested an ARC before reading the second book in the series! I finally read that, All the Feels, last December, but then it took me seven months (and an embarrassing number of library check-outs) to listen to this book. Peter and Maria end up being co-stars after a steamy one-night-stand. They work together platonically filming their TV show for many years until the final scene they have to film, which is, of course, a sex scene, leads them both to realize their mutual feelings still hold. I’m not always a fan of second chance romances, especially combined with a very slow burn, but the chemistry between the two was hot and the eventual spicy scenes were hot hot hot. The story emphasizes body positivity and allows the FMC to stand strong in her beliefs and not cower to the beauty standards the directors want to enforce. Refreshing!
Thanks to Avon & Harper Voyager for the ARC via NetGalley even though I ended up listening to the audio from my library. The audiobook was excellent, especially with the pronunciation of the Swedish words that Maria uses to make fun of Peter - great work Kelsey Navaroo! I wish this had been a little shorter because the length (404 pages, 12:27 audiobook) made it appear daunting and a bit too slow of a slow burn. Spoiler Alert, the first book in the series, was my favorite. If you’re a fan of Hollywood behind-the-scenes stories and/or fanfiction, it may be a fun series for you to check out!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me free access to the digital advanced copy of this book.
If you like any of Olivia Dade's work, this will not disappoint. I am not the biggest fan of second chance romances and that mixed with the slow burn (6 years of slow burn), I thought this might be a bit too eh for me. But it was anything but! The chemistry between Maria and Peter is so wonderful and interesting that I could have read even more. I love the setting being Hollywood adjacent (since they are filming a show) but the backdrop is actually an Irish island and that gave it such a magical vibe.
This book was so good!! This is the third book in the Spoiler Alert series. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend checking it out! This book felt so real and the romance felt so natural. The banter was also amazing in this book. I highly recommend checking it out!
This was such a good spicy romcom. I think this is my favorite one in the series! Strong FMC and a MMC that will trade anything for her love. All set in the world of Hollywood.
Olivia Dade is a fantastic writer; she writes an incredible world with immersive characters and relatable flaws to them. Peter and Maria were insta-lust which is usually a bit of a miss for me. I like the way the dilemma between them wasn’t being together but how to be together in the future with diverging career paths. All in all a great read.
"Ship Wrecked" by Olivia Dade presents readers with the promise of a warm and delightful romantic comedy. However, despite the potential of the one-night stand trope and the backdrop of filming on a remote Irish island, the execution of the story falls short, resulting in a lackluster reading experience. I found myself not wanting to reach for this one as much as other books I was reading.
The narrative revolves around Maria and Peter, two co-stars who had a passionate one-night stand in the past. As they find themselves reunited for a long-term filming project on an Irish island, their unresolved feelings and desire for each other resurface.
Olivia Dade's ability to create vivid settings, such as the remote Irish island, adds a touch of charm to the story. However, these elements alone are not enough to compensate for the lackluster character development and underwhelming plot.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! Nothing about it, from the opening pages onward, went on a timeline I expected in a romance novel, and I really enjoyed that. The characters and parts of the story had already been introduced in the first two books in the series, but it still felt very original. This is the third book in the series, and while it's not strictly necessary to read the first two, I would highly recommend it just for continuity purposes.
The romance was so cute! The female character is an actress from Sweden who gets hired to play opposite an actor being given his first big break after years in Hollywood. Both of them are such well-rounded characters, and the way the romance is handled between them was so refreshing. They are both adults, and their relationship was handled as such. (ie there wasn't the whole "does he like me" drama that is in most romances.) When they have issues, they are very realistic, and are handled in a believable way.
Dade's books are always very body positive, and this book follows two MCs who identify as fat. While their being plus size as actors is occasionally referenced, especially in terms of how difficult it can be to find work in Hollywood, neither of the characters see their size as a flaw or something that needed to be fixed. Their weight was handled in such a healthy way, and was definitely backseat to the plot(s) of the story. Both characters are still treated as attractive, whole people, which is SO rare, even in books that try to be body positive.
I've read several of Dade's other books, so I was very excited to get an ARC for Ship Wrecked, and I'll be keeping my eye out for her future releases as well.
Great start, waaaaay to long middle, decent end. I was excited for this book and mostly enjoyed it, minus the excessive slow burn and the overly obvious feminist themes.
3.5 stars. I don't think this was my absolute favorite new romance novel, but even if some of the humor didn't quite land for me (the running gag about pickled herrings got a bit old) I really liked that both of the main characters were fat and confident in themselves, they had pretty good chemistry, and I enjoyed the bits of the behind the scenes stuff about the filming of their show a lot and this was a nice conclusion of the series.
