took me longer than usual to get through, but good! i liked the progression of things and maria and peter’s relationship in general, especially how maria helped peter build a found family. alex and lauren’s book is definitely still my favorite, though.

This was the first Olivia Dade book I have read and I really loved the body positivity/strong female lead. Talk about slow burn though……….you’ll understand once you read it. The male lead wasn’t my favorite until about 3/4 of the way through the book but then I was all for him. I would definitely recommend reading the other books in the series first as I was a little confused but overall found the book to be charming and a sweet love story with the bonus of some added steam to keep things spicy. Perfect for if you like a slow burn/friends to more story. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own. Pub date 11/15/2022.

Loved it!! I really, really just enjoyed the heck out of this book. Lovers to friends to lovers. I’m here for it.

This is the third book in the Spoiler Alert universe, and it might be my favorite one. In this book, we get to watch two of the Gods of the Gates costars fall in love over the years. The pining!! So much pining!

Peter and Maria have a one night stand the night before their auditions for the popular tv series, Gods of the Gates, which ends with Maria leaving without so much as a goodbye. Peter, hurt by her dismissal, is pretty much just a big jerk to her when they run into each other at the audition the next day. Fortunately, Peter gets over it and apologizes and the book then follows their relationship over the next 6 years as they shoot on a small island with a skeleton crew that becomes family.

I loved both of these characters so much. Dade does an amazing job of creating complex characters with amazing backstories, and Maria and Peter complemented each other in the most perfect ways. Maria, my outspoken, body positive, unapologetic, herring wielding, and loving Swed. You are perfect. And Peter was broody, protective, stable, a bit of a skitsövel, and in desperate need of the love that Maria could give him.

Truly enjoyed it! Thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for the eArc!

great romance and loved they had a one time sex but working together made it work for the set and cast members. I loved that they both went into it the last season. Great romance and really liked the friends too.

I absolutely adore this book and whatever books Olivia Dade writes next. Well written with a sense of personality and an attitude that really makes you connect with her characters. I really recommend any books by this author as a fast, sweet and funny read!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book! Below is my honest review. :)

Every book in this series just keeps getting better and better. I wouldn't say Olivia Dade is an auto-buy author, but I will definitely be reading more of her books as she continues to publish them.

In this book, we follow another couple in the Gods of the Gates tv series, Peter and Maria. (There's no need to read the previous two books, but it's always a bonus.) Peter and Maria met at a sauna and decided to pull a one-night stand. Maria, for reasons explained later, leaves Peter the morning after. Peter becomes very sad that he had a one-night stand with a beautiful woman and didn't get her contact information, but proceeds with the rest of his day--which entails an audition.

And guess who's at the auditions? Maria. And guess which two people get hired to be each other's co-stars? Maria and Peter. And who are they playing in the tv show? Lovers (eventually).

After some angry words are said (mostly from Peter), they quickly establish a professional relationship with each other so that they don't get fired from their jobs. Years later, they get together and we can guess what happens next.

Honestly, there's not one bad thing that I can say about this book. There are some really minor things that I personally don't like, but it's nothing that would damage my rating of this book.

There's a lot of topics that Olivia Dade covers well, such as:
- the social (and maybe even professional) "expectations" that fat actors are pressured to meet
- the benefits of adoptions
- the double standard between male and female actors in sex scenes
- being a couple THAT DOESN'T WANT KIDS (because I'm so tired of couples in romance novels who get married and have kids--BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE WANTS THAT)
- etc etc.

Also, one of the perks of this book is that THE BREAK UP MAKES SENSE to the plot. I cannot tell you how many times I read a great book, only for it to have the most misunderstood and annoying break up.

So, if you want to read about two fat people falling in love--this book is for you. The heroine is so badass and I wish I had her confidence. The hero is lowkey a grump, but he's just so thoughtful and caring in a lot of ways. This series is so fun to read and I can't wait for Olivia Dade to publish more!

Would I recommend this book? Yes!

I really, really enjoyed this book! It was cute, witty, and romantic and I loved it! This was my first from this author and won’t be my last!

Maria and Peter meet in a sauna and then spend an incredible night together in a hotel room. But when she leaves before he’s awake Peter can’t help but feel he lost out on a great woman. Turns out, he didn’t lose out at all - because Maria and Peter are costars on Gods of the Gate, the smash fantasy show. But more than that, they’re the two stars working together for the next six years on a remote island with a tiny crew. Will Maria and Peter be able to keep their attraction at bay to work together?

After I loved Spoiler Alert and really enjoyed All the Feels, it really hurts me to say I just didn’t enjoy Ship Wrecked that much. I loved the body positivity and both of the MCs being fat was so refreshing. I also loved seeing some of our returning cast from Gods of the Gate, the text exchanges were so funny and I always appreciate the fanfic breaks. Unfortunately, that’s where my love for this book stopped. I didn’t love our MCs personality or conflict, I found it all a bit boring. And I’m just not one for a lot happening off page, so the six year time skip was hard for me to overcome. However, this is a good book for people who want their smut early on in the book! Despite not being in love with this read, I Stan Olivia Dade and I’m so thankful for the stories she writes and their fat rep!

After a one-night stand to remember, Peter thinks he’ll never see Maria again until they end up co-stars on the popular show Gods of the Gates. They spend the next six years avoiding their ever growing feelings for each. When the show finally ends and they’re able to express their mutual feelings, Peter and Maria have to decide how to make this opposites attract relationship work.

Ship Wrecked is the third book in the Spoiler Alert series by author Olivia Dade. THis book can be read as a stand-alone but it takes place around the same time as the other two books so some context may be lost. The MCs from the other two books along with some of the co-stars make brief appearances throughout the book but they aren’t prominent.

The plot offers a unique and spicy twist on a workplace romance. The chemistry between the MCs is undeniable. There’s a great mix of flirtatious banter and teasing woven throughout the book’s storyline. The MCs are far more well balanced and relatable than the other two books in the series.

Ship Wrecked is by far my favorite book in this series! I really appreciate the author's unique and inclusive characters. This is the first series that I have read from her but I look forward to checking out some of her other work.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager!

Ship Wrecked starts off with Maria and Peter hooking up. This was only supposed to be a one night stand. But they find out that they both are going to be co stars on Gods of the Gates, and will be spending the next six years filming on a desolate Irish island together. Maria still wants Peter but he wants nothing to do with her. For years they do not touch off camera but, on their last night of filming they fulfill their desires again. But they seem like they do not have a future together because they both are going their separate ways. But Peter now wants Maria and will do anything to convince her to be with him.

This book was so stinkin cute. I loved the relationship between Maria and Peter. I enjoyed the lovers to enemies back to lovers trope of this book. Also, like all of the books in this series it had a lot of body positivity vibes. I loved all of the books in the Spoiler Alert series but, this one is my favorite. I would highly suggest this whole series. One, because every single book is good and two, all of the books have easter eggs to the other books. I am obsessed with Oliva Dade's books. And I need to read more books by her ASAP. I was so excited to read this one and I freaked out when I got an ARC of it. Thank you so much Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for this copy.

I loved this one!! Probably more than the other two of the series (which I really enjoyed). I loved that both of the MCs were fat, which we hadn't gotten in the other two novels. For some reason, it made the novel just so much better. I loved the representation and their story.

Here’s the thing, I didn’t dislike this book by any means, I just for the life of me could not get into it. That being said, if you hate waiting for spice in your romances, this might be the book for you because they’re banging on page 1.

In my opinion, this was the weakest of the trilogy, but the weakest of a very good trio of romances is still quite good. It was especially satisfying to have two fat lead characters! How often do you see a fat hero who is still treated as sexy? Some parts dragged for me and I missed the extreme fan culture bits of the first two books, but this was well worth the read and Olivia Dade continues to be an auto-read for me.

This was the most spectacular conclusion to this trilogy of romances EVER. I loved Peter and Maria and their adversity to friendship to romance arc. I genuinely was thrilled that the timeline was so unique and that we got to see them from their very first interaction instead of just cutting to the end of the show where things with their relationship finally pick up.
The fat representation was amazing and I loved how Olivia Dad was emphatic about saying that these characters were fat AND strong. That felt like a really powerful message to get across to readers.
Additionally I loved seeing the crossover timelines with the first and second books and seeing other characters weave in and out. The epilogue to conclude was just perfect and really rounded out the series in a beautiful way.

I was actually excited for this book- two fat love interests! However, I found myself confused by the time jumps. The story jumps around quite a bit, which is difficult to follow. None of the characters are very distinct, which is unusual for Dade. There is a lot of telling, rather than showing. I felt like I had to put together the story myself because this book is so scattered. I was bored, confused, and not at all convinced that Peter and Maria were in love. There was no pining, no chemistry. No anything, just awkward scenes here and there of filming what seems like the most boring TV show of all time.

I really enjoy this series by Olivia Dade and had fun reading this book. I love a good pining story, so for the most part Peter and Maria's story did not disappoint. I just wish the book would have spent more time in the present; the HEA felt rushed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader's copy.

I enjoyed Olivia Dade’s other books (spoiler alert, All the Feels) and was eagerly looking forward to Ship Wrecked, however this one left me disappointed. The writing was still good but the overall story felt very pieced together and the huge time jumps felt out of place. I don’t feel that there was any character development that happened during the time jumps and the last third of the book just felt like a montage of scenes put together.. I didn’t find myself really liking or rooting for either character and i really felt no chemistry between them. Overall I still will recommend Olivia Dade to my customers but i would warn potential readers that this is not the best in the series. I am hopeful that Dade will redeem herself if there is a next book in this series.

This is my first book by Olivia Dade and I found it to be underwhelming. I loved her writing style but I disliked the characters. I couldn’t truly connect with any of them which disappointed me. However, Dade has mastered the steamy romance scenes that leave readers hoping it lasts another page or two.

ONE CLICK ALERT! JUST BUY THE BOOK. TRUST ME.

No, but seriously. Only Olivia Dade could create a slow burn that spans years — YEARS! — that actually starts with the romantic leads having a very steamy encounter (sauna puns intended). What follows is a treatise on the love we think we deserve and the ways in which we stand in the way of those who just want to love us as we are.

There’s angst, emotional reverence, SO MUCH PINING, and hoo boy, does it bang. Five stars, nay — 10 stars, no notes, would purchase in multiple formats (will purchase in multiple formats — I have every faith that the audiobook will be a freaking delight, and I need this in print and ebook).

I love it so much that it hurts.

I enjoyed this book and these characters. I love the idea of them spending years filming together and forming close connections with their small crew, and I really loved seeing how Maria helped Peter forge those connections and really become like family. I appreciated seeing the beginning of their relationship/friendship and where they ended up 6 years later. That said, the way that timeline was presented just felt off to me. I don’t know if I just needed a “6 years ago” heading at the beginning of the book or what, but it felt like suddenly we had jumped forward 6 years with no warning. Because I have read the other books, I assumed we’d end up in the final season of the show, but I felt like the “past” and “present” could have been more clearly marked or delineated from the beginning.
