đź’Thoughts:
Do you ever read a book that you want to love and just can’t?! That was this book for me. It had all the the makings of a great book- cat cafe, second chance romance, cooking, but the dialogue fell short for me.

The dialogue between Lindsay and Ben was so repetitive. Nothing about their past was resolved and suddenly they are living happily after in the epilogue. The flow just didn’t make a lot of sense for me. I think I needed more character development. Call me a crazy cat lady, but I also wished for more cat cuteness too!

Overall, my favorite part of this book was the cover! Sadly, I just can’t recommend this book.

I really, really wanted to love this one, but it just came up lacking for me. Lindsay and Brad's relationship waffled throughout and I kept waiting for more from them. I struggled with the second half and just couldn't relate enough to the characters.

There were parts of this novel that I enjoyed but overall it wasn't for me.

To start with what I enjoyed, I should probably mention that the cat cafe premise and the cover are what drew me in. It seemed like what I would be getting is a wholesome, almost hallmark novel. However, I found that the plot was lacking depth. Lindsay's background and reasoning for not wanting to give Brad a second chance didn't seem valid. Especially when her issues with what her dad did weren't discussed in enough detail to actually benefit the story. I didn't really enjoy Lindsay's character. She annoyed me. Though, this is sometimes what happens in the romance books I read, I usually always like the male main character. However, I did not feel a connection to Brad and didn't find him memorable.

Unfortunately, this was not the book for me.

This is the third book in this series. It was an interesting second-chance romance story. It was fun to read about the entire friend group on Whitman Street. Even though you can read this as a standalone I went back and read the first two books. I hope we will get a forth book about Evan and Pablo.

I dunno about this one. It was cute, but......the serious lack of communication was just so grating. I wanted to love it so hard. The end was certainly great, but man we had to work so hard to get there. I was about to throw my Kindle if I saw Phoebe's name again.

I liked the concept. I liked the character. I disliked the dialogue. The steam was good though!

Thanks sourcebooks.

It's not a perfect story and the characters can be irritating as they seemed spoiled child at time but it's a realistic story and I loved the cat.
I had fun and enjoyed it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

I was immediately drawn in by the cute cover and the blurb for this book! A second chance romance featuring a cat cafe and a food critic sounds like catnip to me!

I really loved the premise of this story and the idea of love around a cat cafe! Lindsey and Brad deserved their second chance and I really enjoyed how they came together throughout the book. The setting was perfect to me and as a foodie and amateur baker, I loved all of the food featured throughout the book.

However, I definitely would've liked to see more from both Lindsey & Brad's past to really understand their characters flaws more.

Overall, this was a light and fun read and perfect for those looking for a fast romance with the cutest cat cafe!

I enjoyed the first part of the book and was looking forward to see what will change in their relationship and how both will outgrow.
What happened in the second part, I’m not sure. It felt like stalling a lot for me, barely moving the story at all.
They were both so set in their own minds and thoughts that became quite annoying in the end. Too much negative vibes and while he repeats himself so much, literally word by words in every other chapter, she’s not far off with so much insecurity about what she really wants; to move on or to choose him. I get it, it’s hard to decide something like that because there will always be a what if later in life, and these things need time to process but in a fictional world, these are resolved much quicker and I found myself really bored in the end.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley ( Read Now title )

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for letting me read an eARC of Chasing Your Tail! This is the 3rd book in the Whitman Street Cat Cafe series and while I read the 1st book, I somehow missed the 2nd, so I’m going to be remedying that rather quickly now that I’ve read book 3! These books are so fun and definitely worth the read.
Chasing Your Tail 4/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads: Head to Brooklyn's Whitman Street Cat Café: the coffee is strong, the desserts are delicious, kitten cuddles are never out of stock—and finding love is guaranteed.
Pastry chef Brad Marks is the new hot thing at the Whitman Street Cat Café; he makes tasty treats for both the human and feline guests at the café. All the patrons love him, and freelance writer Lindsay Somers understands why; five years ago, she was smitten by his charms too—until Brad broke her heart. Lindsay is happy with her new gig at a trendy weekly magazine, but when her boss assigns her to do a story on the cat café, she's thrown back into Brad's orbit yet again…
Chasing Your Tail was such a fun, cute read! I really liked Linday and Brad as main characters and it was great to visit the Whitman Street Cat Cafe again and to see characters that I had really liked when I read book 1. I think Brad and Lindsay’s backstory was sad and cute and I love second chance romances, so it was great to see them learn to trust each other and get over their pasts so they could have a future. I also really enjoyed all of the food, because your girl is alllll about food! Plot and pacing wise, I thought that Chasing Your Tail was done really well- I was never bored or questioning why we were moving at a certain pace or why things were added to the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I definitely think y’all should pick it up today!

I have a few mixed opinions. I enjoyed it but it wasn't my favorite in this series. I do LOVE a good second chance though so it did pull me through,

I really wanted to like this one but it was a struggle. The female MC was so immature it made it hard to root for them as a couple. Brad seemed like a nice guy it made no sense why he liked her. Their relationship was unbelievable as they spent every interaction fighting. By the end it doesn’t seem like she changes all that much and their issues with each other don’t seem like they were resolved. A second chance romance that made me wonder why they even bothered. The cats were cool though, but that’s about it. Check it out if you want but it wasn’t for me. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

Lynsay Sommer's, freelance writer of a weekly food magazine is given the assignment to interview the new pastry chef at the Whitman Street Cafe which serves humans and cats. Unfortunately the new hire is Lynsay's ex, Brad Marks. A misunderstanding from the pass has cause heartache for them both for 5 years. Brad wants to talk and explain what happen, because he wants Lynsay back.

What follows is learning to forgive and trust each other. Lindsay and Brad have trust issue. Lindsay's father infidelity made her mother bitter and scarred Lindsay to the point that she afraid to be vulnerable and open herself up to accept love. Brad's father thinks a man that bakes isn't masculine and this cause Brad to be a flirt, possibly to prove to his father and himself that he's an adult heterosexual man.

With help from their friends, Lindsay and Brad are learning to have a healthy relationship. But, will they be able to take that final step, become a couple again and find their HEA?

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have such mixed feelings about this third book in the Whitman Street Cat Cafe series. I've been really enjoying these books so far and I usually love a good second chance romance but former flames, Brad and Lindsay broke up over a terrible miscommunication and I really just wanted to shake them both.

It's been five years since Brad or Lindsay talked and now they're forced together again when food writer Lindsay gets assigned to interview Brad - the up and coming pastry who is creating buzz as the Cat Cafe's new pastry chef.

There was WAY too much back and forth, will they or won't they for my tastes! I thought Brad spent way too much time trying to get Lindsay to let him explain what happened and even when he does she has trouble learning how to trust him.

They do eventually work things out but it just wasn't a very fun journey for me. Good on audio narrated by Suehyla El-Attar Young and recommended for fans of Stefanie London's Paws in the city series. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Lindsay Somers is tasked with writing a story on the local cat cafe for a magazine. Although she’s excited for her new assignment she is hesitant because her ex, Brad Marks, is the new chef at the cafe. After five years apart Brad still has feelings for Lindsay and is determined to win her back.

Chasing Your Tail is a fun, second-chance romance. While it is the third book in the Whitman Street Cat Cafe series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

I enjoyed the cat cafe setting and the low-angst storyline. There were a few slow points but it picks back up. This book would be a great option for readers looking for something on the lighter side.

This is the first book that I have read from author Kate McMurray. I would be interested in reading the rest of this series in the future to see if that changes my opinion on the overall story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca!

I thought this one was super cute! I really liked the cat cafe and the foodie details. I wasn’t a huge fan of Lindsay’s character, I wanted her to be more confident with herself. I haven’t read the other books in the series, but I really liked how this one was written! Dual perspectives really moved the plot along perfectly. I’m excited to read another book by this author!

Lindsay is excited about her new job as a food editor—but her first writing assignment is to interview her ex Brad. He's the new pastry chef at her friend's cat café. Crossing paths again after five years, the chemistry between them is still there. Can they let go of past hurts and take a chance on love again?

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were likable, realistic, and fun. The plot was well-paced, with the physical relationship heating up before Lindsay is ready to trust again. She has a lot of issues from her past to overcome that really have nothing to do with Brad. But she takes responsibility for that and works on herself so she can become the woman he needs. I loved the gossipy feeling of the friend group and the various subplots.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Chasing Your Tail is the third book in the Whitman Street Cat Cafe series that can undoubtedly be read as a stand-alone. I found this to be a fast and enjoyable read. I liked the characters and the story.

The premise of this story was good. The execution of it wasn't my favorite. The story and writing are good. But I really didn't like the characters, so found it hard to complete. There were some funny moments and good bantering, but I found the characters very immature. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Return to the Whitman Street Cat Café, where the cats are cute and the new pastry chef even cuter in Chasing Your Tail. Brad Marks is tired of cooking what others want, so when the opportunity arises to have creative control of his own kitchen, he takes it. Cooking treats for both humans and felines may not be what Brad had in mind when he went to culinary school, but the café is a fun place to be. And then Brad runs into his ex. Lindsay Somers is none to happy when her friend hires Brad to be the café’s new pastry chef. Brad broke Lindsay’s heart and she has no interest in opening herself up to that kind of hurt again. But now that she can’t avoid him, it’s hard for Lindsay not to fall under Brad’s spell again. The question is, will she be able to trust him in a way she never could before?

I love a good second chance romance, but I had mixed feelings about Brad and Lindsay’s. I loved Brad. He’s a sweetheart with boatloads of charm and a talent for choux that will make you drool. I was incredibly invested in him, particularly in the question of whether he’d adopt the adorable cat who clearly adored him. Brad never got over Lindsay and she over him, but the romance was a bit frustrating, mostly because of Lindsay. Lindsay’s parents’ acrimonious divorce did a number on her and though she fell hard for Brad in culinary school, she was quick to accuse him of cheating and cut ties. To say Lindsay has a hard time trusting would be a massive understatement. Kate McMurray showed why Brad and Lindsay worked as a couple but the push-pull from Lindsay grew tiresome as the book went on. It went on for so long I really felt bad for Brad and can’t imagine why he didn’t cut his losses. The happily ever after did come and it was cute, but I wish more effort had been put into it on Lindsay’s part.

As always with the Whitman Street Cat Café books, the feline characters are sure to grab your heart. McMurray definitely made me wish I could visit the café for both the treats and the cats. I also really enjoyed the friendships between the various characters. These two things, more than the romance, are what kept me reading Chasing Your Tail. So even though I struggled with Lindsay’s character, I still liked quite a few things about this book and would enjoy another visit to the cutest fictional café in Brooklyn.
