Kiss Me, Catalina was an awesome read. It was sexy, sweet and enjoyable. I loved that it explored things that I’m not familiar with and that it was brought forth in a way that didn’t info dump nor bog down the story but it enhanced the story and contributed to my overall enjoyment of it. It was an entertaining read one that I definitely recommend. I hope we get more stories from the Capuleta family.
Kiss Me, Catalina was an amazing follow up to West Side Love Story. The Capuleta family is so lovely and getting to hear Cat’s newest adventure with Patricio was exciting! I loved the chemistry between them and I am always here for a celeb crush coming to fruition!!
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Priscilla Oliveras for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Synopsis: Ambitious San Antonio singer Catalina “Cat” Capuleta gets the chance of a lifetime when she joins superstar heartthrob and fellow mariachi Patricio Galán on his seven-week concert tour. Demanding and arrogant, Patricio challenges Cat on every level, as an artist and as a woman. When the duo hits the road, the sparks don’t just fly—they detonate. Stage by stage, as each reckons with the past—and with each other’s quick-fire personalities—they bring crowds to their feet, and Cat’s long-held dreams come true. Will their road romance go up in flames? Or could making music together kindle the most rapturous love song of their lives?
My Thoughts: This is the second book in the series, where the first one focused on Mariana and this one is about Catalina. The first book was West Side Story, which I have but have not read, so now I want to go back and read it! This is a closed door romance, which I tend to like. The author did an amazing job at authenticating the Latin culture and customs. The characters are well developed, have layers of depth, sexual tension, chemistry, and felt real and authentic, I could relate to them both. The author’s writing style was complex, authentic, creative, and kept me engaged throughout the story, the overall writing, plot, supporting characters was amazing, and the ending perfect. The only potential drawback is that there were a few lines that was written in Spanish and I had to use google translate, however saying that, I still think it worked as it made me connect with the book more. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author. This book releases later this year, go preorder now!
Kiss Me, Catalina has all of the makings of a great rom-com. I really enjoyed the integration of the Hispanic traditions, especially the mariachi. I love a good enemies to lovers trope and this included that. I would ultimately rate this 3.5 stars. Catalina and Patricio have instant chemistry and the slow burn is there and left me anticipating what was to come. The fall-out was kind of predictable and it happened so fast, not giving their relationship time to develop as a couple. The ending was cute but it was also extremely predictable. It was a fun and easy read. Like I said, I'd rate it 3.5 stars. If you're looking for a fun, quick read in between some of your more intense reads, I feel like this is a good one.
I'm loving this series and this second book was amazing! And I love the cover too!
The series is very rich in culture, both Mariachi and Mexican, with a strong family and everything that revolves around them. We see the parents and all the sisters. Book 1 was about Mariana and this one is about Catalina.
We already know Catalina and Patricio from book 1 from the battle of the bands. She signs the contract to go on Patricio's tour and co-write songs with him, but things are not going well from the beginning with him hiding secrets. Their pasts come in the way but also help them come closer and be there for each other.
Can't wait for another story in this series!
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I was partway through reading West Side Story when this ARC popped up on netgalley and I immediately clicked request. I enjoyed this book much better than the first one because I felt much more of a connection to both main characters. I felt more connected to their storyline and each of them as individual characters. We spent more time with them together. I love the nods to the author's heritage and the mariachi life again, and I always enjoy a series of family members and the knowledge we could hear from all of them.
It's always nice to read a second book from an author which improves on the first, and this one definitely did.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review
I devoured this book.

ugh wow....
I am slowly becoming a hopeless romantic. Please do read this.
I am angry at myself.
Mostly because it has taken me THIS long to read Priscilla Oliveras. I even picked up West Side Love Story at the bookstore, read the first chapter (and loved it) and then...didn't go any further? Past self, WHAT were you thinking? Because now that I've read Kiss Me, Catalina, I'm hooked.
I really loved Oliveras' depiction of the Latinx community and culture. I liked all the characters. They felt very real and authentic as people. Both of the main characters/romance interests were flawed and complex, but sympathetic and easy to root for. I liked that they were mature and didn't let their feelings run away with them--until they did and the timing was perfect.
I will say, closed-door romances aren't my favorite, so if you're looking for something with a little more heat, this might not be it for you. The buildup and sexual tension between the characters was well-written and had me believing in Patricio and Cat, so the closed door on the sex scene felt...odd. That, and some awkward not-quite-purple prose jarred me during a few moments, keeping this from being in, say, my top 5 favorite romances. However, all the other factors made this one that I am seriously considering buying--and even if I don't, I will absolutely be reading any more books Oliveras' writes about these fantastic sisters (and, obviously, going back and picking up West Side Love Story :) )
Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the ebook ARC. All opinions are mine alone.
this was a cute read but not something I would rave about. it depends what someone is looking for if I would recommend.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.".
Priscilla Oliveras has done it again with Kiss Me, Catalina one of my new favorite authors. When I was younger my dad would always play mariachi waking me up I didn't appreciate the music until I got older.
This book was a fast read and I could connect to the characters 5 Star read 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review
Happy Reading Lisa 📚
Ambitious San Antonio singer Catalina “Cat” Capuleta gets the chance of a lifetime when she joins superstar heartthrob and fellow mariachi Patricio Galán on his seven-week concert tour. Demanding and arrogant, Patricio challenges Cat on every level, as an artist and as a woman. But headstrong Cat is determined to be his match. No matter how seductive Patricio’s baritone voice, Cat’s eyes are only on the prize: success and making her familia proud.
No woman gets under Patricio’s skin like Cat. Her talent mesmerizes. Her passion is thrilling. And her drive, stemming from an old unhealed family wound, exposes a vulnerability he secretly recognizes in himself.
I really enjoyable romance book totally recommend
Thank You NetGalley and Montlake
I just reviewed Kiss Me, Catalina by Priscilla Oliveras. #KissMeCatalina #NetGalley
I liked this book.
I really liked Cat's personality and her confidence and I enjoyed the plot twist since I didn't see it coming. Great ending and I appreciated reading about her relationships to her family. I don't wanna spoil anything but the romance was good.
A few lines are in Spanish and sometimes I could figure out what the person said depending on what the other person answered and sometimes I had to Google translate. But I think it only helped with getting into the book and the characters.
I’ve come to really enjoy this series. It’s rich in Mariachi and Mexican culture with a STRONG familial presence at the center. This story focused less on the entire Capuleta family and more on Catalina herself. It was nice to get a window into Catalina’s past and her career and her work with Patricio. Cat is such a strong and confident woman, it was nice to see her vulnerable side and to see her let down her guard with Patricio. I LOVED Patricio and I loved the additional insight into his life and career as well. I truly feel that the two of them complemented each other well-a perfect match!
The writing was smart and my theatre nerd heart appreciated the subtle nods to “The Taming Of the Shrew” and “Kiss Me Kate”. I will say though that the timeline felt off, and I wish the story gave us just a little bit more. This was a fairly quick read, but some aspects of the story felt a bit rushed, I would’ve liked just a bit more.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Montlake. All opinions are my own.
A fun continuation of Oliveras's story that has a lot of heart and GREAT characters. It was an enjoyable read and I miss the characters already!

Those who know me know I'm not a romance reader, like, at all. But all I needed was some mariachi to push me over the edge. Yes, we enjoy Vicente Fernández in this household
I really enjoyed this (high praise from a dead inside like myself!!!) ! Nice story, some slow burn but not painfully so, closed door but with enough other description to stay spicy. 👀
At times the bilingual writing felt a little clunky, but mostly it was fine, however if you don't know any Spanish it might be a little tough but it's essential for the story.
And the Shakespeare references! Great twist
(Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC)
Catalina Capuleta is apart of an up and coming all female mariachi band of sisters. Patricio Galán is superstar mariachi royalty whom Catalina has the exciting opportunity to tour with for the next 7 weeks!
The slow burn between Catalina and Patricio is enchanting. Catalina realizes that by becoming a professional singer/songwriter; she has the means take care of her family. Her feelings for Patricio are not going to derail her plans.
Patricio wants her to flourish not just because he cares for her, but because he is able to be himself with her.
From the beginning of the book to the end, they challenge each other. Their talent in making music together is engulfed by their burning passion for each other.
I can't wait to see what happens next!
Ambitious singer Cat joins fellow mariachi Patricio on his 7 week concert. Of course sparks fly. Each has their difficult past to deal with. Love both characters. it wasn't easy for them to grow and change but they did. I love their banter and their chemistry. A swoon worthy romance.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
This book was a perfectly relaxing romcom, i enjoyed every moment of it and really grew to like the characters, who weren't my favorites in the very beginning
