Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley and sorry I took so long to read this.
This was a really good psychological thriller which really kept me guessing. Very well written and highly recommend.
More from Sheryl please.
A spookily good psychological thriller featuring two couples, an unexplained death, and some really coercive behaviour. It is a fascinating insight into relationships of all kinda, and a really interesting read that will have you racing through it!
This thriller was good for the most part. There were a few slow parts that kind of drug the story down a bit. But overall it was a good story.
Loved this #psychologicalthriller by a talented author, Sheryl Browne, who knows how to write a good one! A repeat author that I already knew was great in #TheInvite, this one switches from past to present and kept me entertained!
Thank you, Sheryl Browne, bookouture & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.
Loved this. A unique and fast paced read. Loved the characters. Amazing read I would recommend to anyone.
"Do I Really Know You?" by Sheryl Browne is a gripping domestic thriller that kept me engaged from start to finish. While it didn't quite reach the level of a 5-star read for me, it certainly deserves a solid 3 stars. Browne's writing style is smooth and easy to follow, making it a quick and enjoyable read. The character development is commendable, with complex and relatable protagonists. However, the plot, while intriguing, felt somewhat predictable and lacked the shocking twists I often look for in this genre. Overall, it's a good read for those who enjoy psychological thrillers, but it falls just short of being exceptional.
Maddie and Kiara have been best friends since they met at University. They have always shared everything with each other, well except for a big secret which Kiara knows would tear them apart.
When the police knock on Maddie's front door as she and Nick are getting ready for the school run, she is not expecting to hear that her friend Kiara is dead!!
I loved this book, WOW there are so many secrets, lies and twists galore until we get to the truth.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
Kiara and Maddie have been best friends for a very long time. They know everything about each other….or don’t they? When Maddie is told that Kiara is dead her world falls apart. How did this happen? Will she ever find out?
Kiara has always been terrified of spiders and there are to many of them in the apartment where she lives with David. How is it that these scary creatures seem to find their way up to her apartment. Could it be that they have anything to do with the fact that Kiara fell from the balcony?
I'm not a fan of spiders myself and the vivid imagines of Kiara made my skin crawl as well.
Do I really Know You? is a psychological story which makes you question everything you think you know. Every time when I thought I had it all figured out an unexpected twist left me in doubt all over again. If there’s something that author, Sheryl Browne, excels in it’s in grabbing you from the very first page. She’s a master in writing blood chilling stories and I highly recommend every book she’s ever written.
If you’re looking for a page-turner to keep you up all night, don’t miss out on Do I Really Know You?
It’s rare to find a book that keeps you gripped until the final page but this is one of them. Definitely one to take on holiday with you this summer
This one wasn’t for me at all. I can’t think of one thing that I enjoyed about this book. I only finished it so I could write a review on here.
A really good read that keeps you guessing until the very end. It's very much a domestic thriller as the plot centres largely on the four main characters and it makes for a tense and sometimes claustophobic read.
Wow, another killer read by a very talented author! From the very beginning the reader doesn't know what to believe, who to trust and is constantly surprised! Recommended for anyone who loves a gripping, entertaining read by a very talented author!
Maddie and Kiara have been friends since university. But when the police knock on Maddie’s door and tell her that her best friend has died she can’t believe the circumstances and who is to blame?
Wow this book was good. Told in multi pov and multi timeline the plot slowly unravelled until the explosive conclusion at the end. I got really sucked into this plot of the thriller and really couldn’t put it down once I’d picked it up. I sort of had an idea of what was going on but I didn’t guess the ending at all. This was my first book by the author but I’ll definitely read more - it was great!
First, I want to say thank you for providing me with an ARC. But there are a lot of problems with this one.
1. The writing was a bit stunted.
2. The premise hinges on a girl's death that results from her fear of spiders (???)
3. The police basically relay all of their evidence to their prime suspects
4. The way the police collected evidence was extremely unrealistic
5. Most of the book centers around Maddie, a woman without any semblance of a backbone and who questions everything about her relationship. This makes for a main character that is extremely annoying (which always drives me insane since we have to spend the most time inside this character's head)
6. The only reason I got as far as I did was because I had to know where the the writer was going to take it. About 80% in, I realized that she probably didn't even know herself.
“Do I Really Know You?” is a psychological thriller filled with all of my favorite things- a twisted plot, complex characters, and an ending that I didn’t see coming! I read this book in less than 2 days because I was as dying to know what would happen! Sheryl Browne is an author I haven’t read often, but now I am hooked and cannot wait to read more! I will be telling everyone about this book!
Do I Really Know You? by Sheryl Browne was a bit of a disappointment for me, particularly as it was my first read of 2023 and I had hoped for a smashing start to another year. Ms Browne has always been an automatic read for me, but I just could not get into this one for whatever reason.
Maddie and Kiara have been the best of friends since their university days. Maddie believes that she knows all there is to know about Kiara, so is justifiably stunned when she learns that Kiara is dead by suicide. As she grapples with the why of it all, Maddie will discover her close friend's secrets, and question whether she herself could possibly be in danger.
From the very start, I had a difficult time connecting with the narrative, and I feel that the phobia angle was a tad overplayed. That being said, I am confident that I am an outlier here, and Ms Browne's fans will be more than satisfied with her latest offering.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
Oh. That wasn’t a fun experience. This is something I’ve read a few times before and I though that the plot would go in a different way or that it could still shook me but sadly, it didn’t. Not for me.
Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy! Hope my next read is better!
I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller. Such a great book that held my interest the whole way through. I really enjoyed the shock factor.
I thought this book was unnecessarily long and dragged out. The plot was not well thought out and I thought it was fairly predictable. It took me longer than usual to finish this one, The main characters are two couples that have know each other since college. David and Kiara. Nathan and Maddison. They have remained close since graduating college, but ever since they spent the most recent New Years together something seems off. One of more of them are hiding something, When Kiara commits suicide, the secrets start to come out. Did she really commit suicide or did someone else have something to do with her death?
This was a compelling psychological thriller. It kept me guessing throughout. It was never boring ans kept me turning the pages.
