Wow, Do I Really Know You? by Sheryl Browne took me on a wild ride. Although I have to say, I had the conclusion mostly figured out about halfway through, which took away from some of the drama towards the end because I saw it coming and it wasn't a shock at all. The ending scenes were pretty surprising in the way they played out though because I didn't expect the final conflict. I do wish the two couples were developed a little further because the characters seemed a bit one dimensional and stereotypical. I kept getting the two couples confused as well because they were so similar. With that being said, I eventually got them straight and liked the women but found both men very problematic and frustrating. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot and found it very entertaining.

The suspense builds as the reader tries to guess who is telling the truth, who is lying, and who can be trusted. As is usual with a psych thriller, the story starts with a prologue that features an event, but it is impossible to tell who the victim is and who is the perpetrator. That continues into the present-day action. But first, there is a brief flashback to fifteen years prior that provides backstory to the relationships between the four main characters: Kiara, Dave, Maddie, and Nathan. We then come into present time, where it quickly becomes apparent that none of them really know each other at all. The author wisely keeps the answers to these questions mostly hidden until the end, leaving the reader guessing right along with Maddie. For more details please visit Fireflies and Free Kicks. Do I Really Know You? By Sheryl Browne was a fab, fab book. Once again as with Sheryl’s books there was lots of twists and turns in the plot. It kept me guessing right to the very end. I loved it. Read in one sitting I could not put it down.

Another twisty tale by Sheryl Browne that I loved.

Maddie and Kiara were best friends from their very first day at university and when they both met Nathan and David also at the university, friendship soon turned into romance but whilst Maddie and Nathan are happily married years later with two children, Kiara and David have just very recently split up. Maddie felt that her and Kiara had no secrets from each other and knew everything there was to know about each other. However, one devasting evening the police knock at Maddie and Nathan’s door and inform them that Kiara is dead, and her death is being seen as a suicide. Not only does Maddie now have to deal with the loss of her best friend and learn to live without her, but a ruling of suicide does also not sit right with her, knowing Kiara like she did. She is desperate to find out the truth about Kiara and what happened, not realising that it may very well put her own life in real danger.

Really good story from Sheryl Browne. I always know I am in for a treat when I start a Sheryl Browne book and this one was no different. In the early part of the book, I was constantly flip flopping over who the baddie was due to the information I was being given but by just over halfway I had a good idea who it was. However, this did not ruin my enjoyment of the book and I enjoyed reading on to see if I was correct…. as this is a spoiler free review all I will say is that I was halfway right and the particular person in question didn’t quite sit right with me from the beginning.

All in all, secrets and lies all add up to one heart pounding ending. I would definitely recommend this book to any psychological thriller fans, and I can’t wait to read Sheryl Browne’s next book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sheryl Browne and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

Maddie and Kiara are long time best friends who share everything, except for a huge secret that Kiara has been keeping from Maddie. Maddie gets a surprise visit from the police one day, who inform her that Kiara is dead and it's been ruled as a suicide. Maddie is devastated and when she goes to Kiara's new apartment she is stunned to find out her friends life isn't as great as she thought. She discovers lots of things her friend had kept from her which makes her question who Kiara was. I liked how the story plays out from multiple characters POVs, but with Maddie as the main character. It was a great twisty read with a surprising ending. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Unfortunately, I have been locked out of my netgalley account for a few months and was not able to see which books I had on my list or even know to check if they downloaded properly, in order to properly read and review. I do apologize and am doing a 3 for neutral. Will update once I’m able to obtain a copy and read!

This is a story about two couples who have been best friends since university. Maddie is married to Nathan. They have two children but Nathan is away a lot due to his work. Kiara had a very traumatic experience at university and has never fully recovered from it and marries David for the security he brings. One morning, whilst getting the children ready for school, Maddie and Nathan have a visit from the police who inform them that Kiera is dead having jumped from the fourth floor flat of her new home. It appears she committed suicide but Maddie is really not convinced that Kiara would do this. She refuses to accept this and starts digging into Kiera’s life and realises that she has been keeping secrets, David suspects that Kiara had been having an affair and Maddie begins to think it could have been with Nathan. This is a dark, gripping and compelling read with so many twists and turns that had me hooked throughout. I always enjoy Sheryl Browne’s books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.

Who can you trust? Who is the villain? This thriller gives new meaning to the phrase, "A wolf in sheep's clothing." Evil comes in many forms. Some are obvious, where others may be disguised as a friend, lover, or the reflection in the mirror. This twisted tale of deception and betrayal was a rollercoaster ride all the way to the shocking conclusion. Entertaining, original and fast paced describe this addictive thriller. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy.

My thoughts: Okay, I really thought I had this one figured out. Like really, truly did. But no, of course I didn’t. This book pulls you in immediately with a scene of someone being petrified by their biggest fear. Then we flash back to college and meet our main characters. They grow older, remaining friend and still having their own phobias and traumas living with them. Then, one of them dies. Another goes missing. They characters are so relatable in the sense that they deal with real issues. I loved how everything could be skewed to make it seem a certain way. The twist at the end really got me and I can honestly say I did not see that coming at all.

Wow, this is a real get-in-your-head kind of book!

It’s very hard to know what has happened to Kiara. There’s a totally gripping prologue, which kept coming into my mind as the story progressed.

Told from multiple points of view and with a dual timeline, this book just keeps giving you a little snippet, and then taking it away again. Less than halfway through I had it all figured out, I knew what had happened and who had done it. But of course, I was totally wrong! There are many twists and turns until we finally get the truth, and it wasn’t who I expected at all in the end.

Creepy, suspenseful and totally gripping, this book will be impossible to put down, it’s just so good.

Word of warning for anyone with arachnophobia: there are some moments that will make your skin crawl!

Highly recommended, really superb psychological thriller.

The opening of this story had me hooked as it explores how well do we really know a person, even if that person happens to be someone close to you.

This story follows Maddie as she grapples with the news of her best friend, Kiara, who died from suicide. Maddie and Kiara have been friends since uni, and they often hang out together with their husb ands. Kiara went through a traumatic experience in uni and Maddie has been there for her when she needed comfort. On top of that, Kiara also has a fear of spiders which had impacted her life in an unhealthy way. When Kiara died, Maddie realises she doesn’t know Kiara as well as she thought. As Maddie uncovers Kiara’s secret, she unknowingly puts herself in danger…

I feel the middle was a little draggy and repetitive. What made up for it was how Kara’s secrets were uncovered. Everyone is not as innocent as they seemed. There are little twists that adds to the story in the flashbacks leading to Kiara’s death.

Despite the twists, I managed to predict who the culprit was which was quite underwhelming when there was already a nice build up to the plot. Overall, this was a quick and enjoyable read but I had expected more thrill from the story.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

I have loved this author's prior novels, and this one was no exception! Another twisty, suspenseful, bonkers ride! Maddie and Kiara are long-time besties. Maddie is shocked when the police tell her Kiara has committed suicide. Or did she? This gripping story had its hooks in me and I could barely put it down until I finished it.
