Interesting and well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. Just a little slow and unbelievable at some points. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Maddie and Kiara have been best friends since meeting at university. They share everything, except for one secret that Kiara knows would tear them apart. When the police call to Maddie's door and tell her Kiara is dead she is shocked, especially when ruled a suicide. Then she begins to discover things she never knew about her friend. Could she be in danger? A thrilling and tense story that keeps you turning the pages.
'Do I Really Know You' was a quick, fast paced book by Sheryl Browne and I thoroughly enjoyed it from the start. This was just my third book by this author but it won't be my last. I'm already looking forward to reading another one.
I loved the short chapters and thought the characters were really well developed. While the ending was a bit predictable, (I thought I had figured it out by the half way mark, and I was right) - it's still a worthy read if looking for a grippy soft thriller and one I will definitely be recommending.
Thanks a million to Netgalley.co.uk and the publishers Bookouture aswell as the Author Sheryl Browne for an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
3.5🌟
An enjoyable read with lots to keep you guessing. I'd be interested in reading other books by this author.

Awesome twists.
Well, I'm a bit late with this book because I've read it twice to see that twist again. Although I figured out a little bit in the starting and i was right but the ending left me flabbergasted and then I decided to read it again.
Kiara and Maddie met at University and since then they hit it off quickly and are best friends, they share everything... almost everything.
When Maddie and her husband, Nathan were getting ready, police knocked at their door to tell them that Kiara had committed suicide.
Maddie couldn't believe on her ears. She knew Kiara very well. Her best friend couldn't do that to her. She decided to find out what happened in her last days.
As she dig deeper, it is clear that Kiara had secrets of her which Maddie didn't know about. Did Maddie ever know Kiara?
It was a quick and funny read. Finished it in 24 hrs. Loved it. Then read it again and adored it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
Do I Really Know You?
by Sheryl Browne
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
I enjoyed Do I Really Know You? It did become a bit slow and tedious at times, but it was a good read. I did have to finish to see if I had the right person and to tie up my thoughts. Read the whole book in a day. So a good 4 stars for me.
Kiara and Maddie have been friends since uni which is also where they met their husbands. Years later they all still regularly meet up until the police call round at Maddie and Nathan’s to tell them Kiara has been found dead.
This was an interesting book, I found the reveal predictable but the amount of detail put into the characters and the red herrings was terrific.
A great thriller.
Another greatly suspenseful novel by one of my favourite authors in that genre.
The story centres on Maddie, a woman who finds herself questioning if she really knows the people closest to her, including her best friend (who has apparently killed herself for no reason she can think of) and her husband (that she tries really hard not to suspect of being the man with whom her friend is believed to have had an affair) and even herself (because the sleeping tablets she's been taking seem to cause some memory lapses).
The points of view alternate in short chapters, many of which made me change my mind about what was most likely to have happened, only for a new twist to change it again in the next one. So, even if you guess something along the way, chances are you'll still be surprised by a new development later.
Wow! Totally lost for words at how good this book was, I was completely gripped from the opening page and I did not stop reading until the final breathless twist. I was up most of the night reading this, I had friends staying at the time, so I was a very grumpy tired person the next day, but totally worth it in the name of a good book.
This dark book tells the story of best friends and the secrets we keep between our friends and family. When Maddies best friend takes her own life Maddies world falls apart as she starts to question whether she knew her at all and can she really trust everyone close to you.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Bookouture and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
I couldn’t put it down, it’s so engaging. You want to read it all in one sitting.
This was really an intense psychological thriller that will actually keep you up all night!
Maddie and Kiara had been best friends since the first day they met at the university and have always shared secrets with each other. But one day, while Maddie and her husband Nathan were getting ready, the police knock on the door to inform that Kiara had committed suicide. Maddie couldnt believe that Kiara would commit suicide and realize that Kiara may have been hiding something that Maddie was unaware of.
I actually enjoyed reading this book. I felt many of the characters, even Maddie was unreliable and that I liked how the author made Kiara's sudden death a mystery. The story was fast paced and there were some twists and turns as well and I kind of expected that the ending will be but this did not ruin the rating I had in this book. This book also talks about the importance of friendships and relationships between your spouses and of course the trust issues that many couples have between each other. This is the fourth book I have read of Sheryl Browne and I am always looking forward to read more books from her.
If you are looking for a fast paced thriller and an unputdownable thriller, then this book will be the one for you. Worth 4.5 stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only..
The captivating prologue means you hit the ground running in this twisty psychological thriller centred on four main characters who had been friends since Uni days. How well did they really know each other is the question as past secrets are uncovered throughout the book leading to many twists and turns as the truth about the death of one of the four is sought.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won't be the last - I couldn't put it down and devoured it in a couple of sittings.
Highly recommended for those who enjoy psychological thrillers but perhaps one to avoid if you have a spider phobia!
I am very grateful to NetGalley and the publishers for my ARC of this book.
Kiara and Maddie have been friends since University, and marrying men that were in their clique, have remained close until they didn't. .....
Kiara commits suicide and Maddie is stunned, as she did not believe her friend was suicidal. Yes, she was an anachophobic, to an alarming degree, but not suicidal.
Maddie decides to try and find out what her friend's last few months were like, and is totally mislead by what she discovers.
I did enjoy this book, it was a quick read, and kept me interested, although long before the middle of the book I had figured out the ending. But it was a very entertaining read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is another great domestic noir by Sheryl Browne. I’ve read all her other books and this one didn’t disappoint.
It’s fast paced with plenty of twists throughout and one I’d recommend.
This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…two friends…secrets…suicide or murder? Some of the characters are likable and others not so much…the story is a cannot put down although at times confusing. Which character goes with which? What will happen next? Enjoy…
Sheryl Browne never ceases to amaze me with her thrillers. So many plot twists in this one kept me hooked until the end. At one point, I thought I knew whodunnit, but that wasn't to be. Yet another twist changed that.
I look forward to reading Sheryl's next thriller.
Sheryl has done it again, honestly I think 'Do I Really Know You?' is her best book yet.
Excellent subplots and minor character threads that expertly explode as the book comes to a close.
Fear is such a universal emotion, incredibly easy to relate to and especially aracnophobia. To write so expertly about fear, so much so you almost feel it with the character is incredible.
I would write more but I'm very concious of spoilers!
My only thing is that I think there needs to be a couple of trigger warnings as they're quite intense and central themes:
- Suicide
- Fear of Spiders
- Fear of the dark
Found I couldn't get into it for a while, the narration style couldn't grab me. Good concept though, so stuck with it, I enjoyed the story mostly. Thank you.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC of Do I Really Know You? By Sheryl Browne.
While this was an enjoyable, quick read, it was just another average read for me that I forget about as soon as I get to my next book. The story and plot were good but the characters didn't run too deep with the antagonist being rather bland. If you need a good read just to distract yourself, this will still be a good one for you. It just didn't stick out or blow me away.
