I started this book a while back, and while I enjoyed some of the banter and angst between characters, I got approximately 73% into the book before I decided not to finish it. I thought i may circle back and continue, but the interest hasn’t been there for me. Overall, I had a hard time really connecting to the characters and really understanding the point of the story. I didn’t post a public review for this since I didn’t finish the book and felt that could be unfair. I also don’t apply ratings to unfinished books, however, I am required to provide a rating in Net Galley so it’ll get 2 stars.
Enemies to lovers is *chefs kiss* Love the story, love the characters, love the writing style. This book was a fun easy read and I loved every page of it.
January Madison's life is pure chaos. Her ex is playing the victim, her friends sold her to the tabloids, and her bodyguard confessed his undying love for her (in the most uncomfortable way possible). To top it off , she has to deal with her new driver Enrique.
This is an instant love Romcom. There is nothing enemies to lovers about it. They both dislike each other but there is not prank war between them. There's no build up to support the romance. And it just seems like random small conflicts have been added for convenience. Also the ending took an abrupt turn and overall it was just not exciting to read.
I think anyone that likes instant live would love this book but it just wasn't for me
Such a nice and funny read!! There's enemies to lovers (my go to), forced proximity (also my go to). I laughed so hard at times, it was hilarious and super fun reading. I would loved to read this in the summer, it just gives me summer vibes. Enrique was chefs kiss!!
I loved reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me. I love this author snd her writing style.
Thanks to netgally for this arc.
I couldn’t get past the first few chapters of this book, January didn’t feel relatable to read. This was a great idea, and I think if I was invested enough to keep reading I would have maybe enjoyed it, but I couldn’t ultimately.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
AHAHAHAH!!! This was amazing! Very up my alley in terms of books. The hilarious and engaging writing coupled with the witty banter really made the book.
Yet, the characters felt a bit superficial and I kept asking myself "so what?" I didn't get much out of it, but I did enjoy myself.
I enjoyed this book so much! This is the first book that I read by Gigi and it certainly won't be the last. This book is so much better than I expected and I highly recommend it!
Ok, so this book was alright for me. I found it entertaining at times, with a few laugh out loud moments. It is a contemporary romance, a little enemy to lovers' vibes. The story follows the perspectives of January and Enrique. January who comes off as your typical spoiled socialite rich girl, but who is so much more than that. However, that is the impression that her new driver gets, Enrique, and he is not about to put up with it. They go toe to toe, and it leads to some hilarious moments and some hot tension and Enrique gets to see past the first impression of January. The romance was sweet, slow building. January drove me nuts for the first half of the book. She was so bossy and coming off as entitled, I was really there for Enrique, and I loved him. The writing was good, and I had no issues following the story and I liked the descriptions and detail that went into the pranks that were happening. I loved the family and togetherness that Enrique’s family had, it was so heartwarming and how he brought January into that atmosphere. I had a good time, and I would recommend it if you're looking for a light read.

I received this advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.
This book was so freaking funny and cute. The banner was brilliant! Between a socialite and her driver! Thank you Net Galley!
I absolutely loved this book, it was hilarious. I loved the prank war between January and Enrique. I liked how they both had an opinion of the other and then they both learned they were wrong about each other eventually. Enrique saw her as a spoiled socialite and she saw him as rude and annoying. They had such great chemistry together once they both stopped disliking each other. I also loved Enrique's family and would love to see more of them in future books as well. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.
Thank you to the author, publishers and netgalley for a chance to read this book.
3.25/5
I liked the idea of this book more than the book itself. Don't get me wrong the family was hilarious and I loved meeting them all, but this was a romance. Which is where my problem manifested. i didn't feel the chemistry, or see it between January and Enrique.
NOW THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DIDN'T LOVE THEM AS CHARACTERS, because i did. Enrique can whisper sweet nothings to me any time and any day, But I needed to see what was the moment. I knew they were physically attracted to each other because every time they were in a room together, January was always thinking about how 'sexy' Ricky was or how his arms were big (She mentioned this ALOT, maybe she has a thing for arms idk). But that's all i saw. They were also 'arguing' all the time, and it wasn't even cute banter, it truly was childish at times. IT DID A COMPLETE 180 when they suddenly had that not-so-date and fell in love?
I dont know. That kinda threw me.
As I said, I loved the characters individually, ESPECIALLY the Precio Family. I hope to see more from them in the future.
This was cute! I enjoyed Enrique much more than I did January. The snobby heiress doesn't do it for me, but I think others will really enjoy this story!
I unfortunately cannot review this book. My downloaded copy was missing sections of certain chapters.
This is my first book by this author and I have to admit, sadly enough, we didn't click, at all.
On paper (ah), this book felt perfect, but while reading it, I didn't feel a connection with the characters, I didn't love them, I didn't hate them, and everything felt flat for me.
The Hate Zone was a fun and sweet romcom read. I really enjoyed it. My main issue with the book was January. I didn't always love her and felt like there needed to be some more explanation of events and things she did (like calling him for ice cream on a Sunday). They didn't necessarily detract from the story but I just felt that they were unresolved and left me a little lost. I loved Enrique and his family. They seem like such a fun bunch! I wish there had been more scenes with January and Enrique's family. The development of the romance I felt like was well done and their kisses were amazing. I appreciate that it was a closed door read. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and can't wait to pick up the next one in the series!
This was a fun and quick rom-com from Gigi Blume. I did have a hard time getting into it thought because I didn;t love the main character.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!
This is a new author for me and I thought the title so interesting and was grateful to get a chance to read it. I enjoyed the characters, even though I didn’t seem able to connect with January for most of the first half of the book. I loved Enrique’s big family. Honestly they carried the story for me. So much crazy fun. A bit more steam than I was expecting, but still considered closed door. The brothers all need a story and I think I would like to read more about them and hopefully get a peek at where the couple from this book are at in their life.
The Hate Zone is a romcom with some of my favorite tropes however I found it a little more boring than I had hoped. January Madison is an heiress, reality star and shallow on the surface while Enrique is a limo driver and building his own business. I loved the banter between the two but then it fizzled out a little more and I did not entirely see the connection between the two. I would have liked to have seen more complications between the two, even more back and forth and maybe even more exploration. I like Enrique's extended family and maybe the other books will give more detail about them.
This was an ok book, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.
A huge thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for providing me a copy of the arc in exchange for an honest review.
