I've been a fan of this series since [book:Murder with Peacocks|545766]. I recommend the whole series, mostly for the humor and the characters. Meg has an extensive and amusing family, and it is always a pleasure to spend time with them. Like any series, there are some that are more successful than others.

This is a particularly good one, in that Meg's family remains interesting, but not any longer over the top performers of slapstick humor. Some of that was great, but the direction Ms. Andrews has taken them in the last two books is better. The characters have become well-rounded through the course of the series, while remaining amusing and enjoyable.

It's Christmas, and Meg's house has been invaded by a horde of Canadian programmers working on a project at her brother Rob's company. Meg is coping, with the help of a cousin who is a brilliant cook, except for the leader of the project -- the amazingly annoying CEO of the company. And now Meg's horde of relatives is arriving for Christmas.

In addition, Meg's father is creating a Christmas surprise in the back pasture, which seems to involve serious construction. Will it be a wonderful surprise? Or a setting for murder?

The mystery is well structured, and the story compelling. If you're looking for a quick, amusing holiday read, pick this one up.

This was so cute! A wonderful romance, filled with witty banter, delightful characters, and just enough steaminess. A must read for romance lovers!

Nice addition. It’s nearing Christmas and of course there is a large group of Canadian “guests” who descend into town to work on a high priority DNA project with Rob’s company; Mutant Wizards. Meg is left to host them in her large home with the help of a multitude of Aunts, cousins etc. As Christmas nears there is a murder of an obnoxious manager. Virtually everyone is a suspect then other issues pop up that lead to more danger. Colorful cast of characters. An enjoyable read.

The week leading up to Christmas in Caerphilly is very different this year. Canadian company, AcerGen, and Rob's company, Mutant Wizards, are working feverishly to finish a contract on time. While AcerGen employees are staying with Meg and Michael (along with the usual relatives), the visiting Canadians seem unhappy and overworked.

But the real problem is the CEO, Ian Meredith. He's an inconsiderate, entitled, offensive, slob of a narcissist, and horrible at his job. He's running his company to ruin and may take Mutant Wizards with it if he isn't stopped. Before the Board of Directors can announce a decision, someone emphatically ends the abhorrent man.

Yet, more is going on! Crimes are stacking up as Christmas inches closer, and the Canadians can only be distracted with food for a little while...

The sheriff is hoping Meg can work her magic on witnesses and criminals alike, to solve these before a really big storm can snow-in her family with a killer!

This is book 32 of the series, and I am still enjoying Meg, her very extended and large family, and her neighbors and friends. The mysteries were inventive and the book was well-written (as usual). Best of all, I still look forward to a new book in the series. It's very rare that an author can keep my interest and enthusiasm for so long!

5/5 Stars

I love the Meg Langslow Mystery series, but it is the Christmas books that I enjoy the most. Donna Andrews writes a delightful mystery, but I adore the holiday spirit that runs through every part of life in Caerphilly that she blends beautifully with murder and mayhem. Dashing Through the Snowbirds, the 32nd book in the series, provides all the fun, kindness, and excitement of this perfect cozy mystery series. I think this series gets even better as it continues.
Along with the extended family that inundates the Langslow household every Christmas, this year a project for Rob’s software company combined with a less than intelligent boss results in a flood of strangers from Canada filling the rooms. The family is fine with working around most of them, but the joys of nepotism have struck this company in the worst way, and that not so young man, who is the antithesis of the stereotypical polite Canadian, is one of the temporary residents. Naturally, the foul, filthy, and entitled boss, who has no clue that communication between his team and Rob’s can be done remotely, is the one who spends the most time at the house while the rest of the group spend long hours working.
Meg's dad’s newest Christmas project is a gift for the whole family and is a wonder in a great way, which isn't always the case. With a little prodding from Meg, he delivers it just in time to play a role in the mystery that you all know is coming.
My thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press (Minotaur Books) for allowing me to read an ARC of this delightful holiday treat. Naturally, I will be sharing the delight with friends and family because that is what I do when I love a book.

Meg and her family are gathering for Christmas - along with a crew of Canadians who are working on a project with her brother. As usual - life is hectic, made worse by one unlikeable fellow. A murder occures and there are suspects galore. Another great read from Donna Andrews

Dashing Through the Snowbirds is a jam-packed read. It is part of a series of Meg Langslow mysteries. I might have enjoyed it more if I had read the earlier books first. The mystery seemed to take a backseat to all the other nonsense. So many characters and side stories do not seem at all related to the murder of a nasty character, which is the central mystery. I debated not finishing it, but the mystery itself is good, and I'm glad I did.

I received an ARC of, Dashing Through the Snowbirds, by Donna Andrews. Megan is not that happy spending Christmas in the US, instead of her native Canada. When murders start happening, it gets to be pretty interesting. Can Meg solve the mystery?

It seems like I was just reading Andrews' annual Christmas tale. I always like the books in this series. Meg is a likable, smart protagonist. All of her extended family show up, no matter how briefly. Like the last book, Kevin, a younger cousin, has one of the larger secondary roles. I wonder if that's a trend that will be continuing. It would be nice for Meg is have a foil.

We do have an assortment of suspects, but the mystery element is weak in that Meg doesn't do a whole lot of investigating, she has others do it primarily off page. The killer basically outs themself, by the end it could have easily been at least three people.

I would like to go back to the book where Michael and Meg find and describe their house. It's like a TARDIS given how it seems to fit any number of people.

I received my copy of Dashing from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

A fun whodunit! Who killed Ian? There are plenty of suspects. There’s also a strange car seen in the area, a cyber stalker, a winter surprise, felons, fur babies, and lots of other interesting things going on. Can Meg figure out who the murderer is?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's Christmas in Caerphilly. Meg has to host a group of programmers that did not bother to make accommodations, and an obnoxious boss, who is quickly found murdered. But so many people disliked him - who did it?
This is holiday themed cozy mystery (my favorite kind!) is book (32!) of the Meg Langslow Mystery series, but the first one I read. I heard a lot about this author, and now that I have read this one, I will definitely go back to the beginning of the series. It has plenty of red herrings, a good pace, and great characters.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a cute cozy mystery and while I haven’t read anything in this series before I really enjoyed this read and didn’t get lost with jumping into to an established series. Meg has a dozen programmers staying with her who are working on a rush project with her brother’s company and she has her hands full trying to make the season festive for them since it looks like they will be stuck away from their families over the holidays. But at least the project is interesting focusing on forensic genealogy and DNA Analysis but when the inconsiderate boss is found murdered on their new ice skating rink there are just too many suspects with his workers that were stuck working during the holidays to customers who are suing the company for faulty DNA analysis. This was a fun read and the mystery was good and I didn’t guess who the culprit was before the author wanted me to figure it out. The cast of characters at Megs house and the little town they live in was really fun and just a cute uncomplicated mystery.

Thanks to St. Martins Press and Harper Voyager and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book in e-book form. All opinions in this review are my own.

Donna Andrews just keeps writing great novels! Meg and her family are at their best in Dashing Through the Snowbirds; holidays, Canadian guests, and of course murder, abound. Andrews balances the day to day life of the characters with the murder in a way that makes the reader want more of both.
Rob’s company, Mutant Wizards, has struck a deal with a Canadian DNA website. With no room left at the Inn, the Canadians are staying with Meg and family, as are other family members visiting for the holidays. When the CEO is murdered Meg, grandfather, the chief, and others join in the hunt for the murderer. All is well by the time Christmas rolls around!

In this book Meg Langslow has a group of Canadian visitors at Christmas time because her brothers company Mutant Wizards is doing a jointed DNA program with a company called AcerGen, that is run by Ian Meredith. But Ian is a real Pain, who his very hard to get along with. So when Ian is found dead, the list of suspects is long. Meg must shift though all the suspects that Ian has rubbed the wrong way.. this book was very interesting with the DNA aspect and the mystery was fun. Loved all the holiday the,Ed stuff in this book. I highly recommend this book!!

It’s Christmas time in Caerphilly and Meg and the family are in a mood. It seems Rob has some customers who arrived intern without bothering to make accommodations and Meg winds up hosting them at her home. It seems that the head of the company she’s hosting isn’t quite who he claims to be. He’s lied about his company, he’s rude and he treats women appallingly. This leaves the family in a mood…though with Christmas looming, the Lansglows and their nearest and dearest make the effort to keep the Christmas cheer by making things right.

This is absolutely one of the most feel good cozy series out there. Dare I say the coziest? Meg and the Langslow family never disappoint and each book is so hard to put down. They capture you from the moment you pick them up until you turn the last page. If you haven’t read one of Donna Andrews’ books, your missing out! They read fine as a stand alone, but you’ll be pleased to have a nice list of books in the series to binge on once you’re done! Enjoy and don’t say I didn’t warn you about it being hard to put down!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books, in return for an honest review. I love this series! Each can be read as a stand-alone, but I encourage you to start from the beginning of the series as you’ll just enjoy every bit of the Langslow family and their weird, quirky, wonderful lives and situations. This time, it’s almost Christmas and the Canadians have descended to work on a top-secret DNA project with Meg’s brother’s software company to do the coding for an expansion roll-out. Problem is the company head (and owner’s son) is horrible to everyone concerned. Luckily, the Langslow tribe, with neighbors and friends, band together to save the day (and the ice rink and the pregnant cat and the work and….). Just love every time I read one of Donna Andrews ‘bird books’… So fun!!

Another hit of a hard to put down series. Meg is at it again when a very unpopular man is found dead on their new ice rink. Being so unpopular it makes it harder to find the killer, since there are so many possibilities. A full house, and near Christmas too, makes for a lot of activity. The twins are getting bigger and her family are helpful in solving this one. Highly recommend this book, series and author. Eagerly await each new one.

I don't always read every book in this series, but I had a great time reading this installment. Meg is a good character with a zany family, add in a murder investigation and you have the ingredients for a true holiday cozy mystery.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.

Thank you for the E-Arc NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Minotaur Books. This was my first Donna Andrews book and I have no idea why she hasn’t come across my radar sooner. She pulls you in with character development and then keeps you hooked with suspense and mystery. I had a hard time putting this down at times to do silly things like work. This is the perfect book for a snowy day by the fire with a good cup (or 3) of tea. This was great and I am delighted that there is so many back list books I get to enjoy now.
