Welcome back to an addictive, funny cozy mystery series that is always a fun read even if you've never read any of the earlier ones. Once again, it's Christmas time in Virginia and there's a visiting nutcase with his several Canadian computer wizards in the house. There are also several angry people wanting to get to him because of his business malfeasance. A teen geek family member and his friend have started up a podcast series of cold cases in Virginia when someone takes exception to something and begins stalking one of the guys. The Waterston household is also bursting at the seams with visiting relatives! There is less focus on the core Waterston household, but the extended family is crucial (especially Meg's dad and his marvelous Christmas gift!). Laugh your way through the suspects and red herrings!
This cannot be an unbiased review because I reread some of them (the print copies walk away so now I have them in audio) and wait with bated breath for each new one.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

I love, love, love Donna Andrews "bird books." ( That's how I think of them.) They're intelligent and sort of crazy all at the same time. But not the kind of thing that makes you doubt your own intelligence (I'm sure we've all read some of those, the ones that leave you thinking "Huh? What just happened here? Am I stupid? What am I missing? just don't get why everyone thinks this book is so wonderful..." Donna Andrews books are the opposite of that. They're silly and smart and just plain fun. You don't need to start at the beginning of the series but it might be more pleasurable if you do.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from St. Martins Press, Minotaur Books and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Get ready to be in the holiday spirit with this cozy mystery. Donna Andrews delights again with the latest Meg Langslow installment Dashing Through the Snowbirds. I would call this the most enjoyable one to date.

I'm in the Christmas spirit with this latest book by cozy mystery queen Donna Andrews! While Meg's house has been invaded by the usual assortment of kooky relatives, this time a group of Canadians have joined the mix! Meg's brother Rob's company, Mutant Wizards, is working on a project for a Canadian genealogy company that has lately been moving into the familial DNA business, with less than stellar results.

Between a house that is bursting at the seams with guests, her grandfather trying out new tracking software, her dad building a secret Christmas present, and her mother going Christmas crazy decorating around the house, Meg has her hands full! But when one of the guests wind up dead, Meg is on the case!

Fantastic book with great pacing. One of the things I love most about Andrew's books is how she has built this cozy world with wonderful characters - and each book builds on the previous, adding new characters or expanding our relationship with existing.

A must-read for cozy mystery lovers!

As a fan of this series from the beginning, it's no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed joining Meg's family for the Christmas run-up. I often wonder if I keep coming back as much for their antics and the animals as I do the mystery. In this case, the mystery, which is always good, is who killed the obnoxious, mean-spirited Scrooge, er, Ian The antics, oh, too many to mention although can't ignore that surprise ice rink in the back pasture. Humor, always. Meg has a zen like ability to face danger and remain calm or find the perfectly snarky comeback to someone's comments. Fortunately, we only "hear" most of them in her head though I did like the snarky, surely intentional misinterpretation of someone's comment about wanting to remain silent and a lawyer. Nope, not telling. See if you guessed right and read the book. Enjoy those, oops, gold sprayed Pomeranians, too, although they are now shaved naked Poms dressed in an abundance of outfits supplied by friends and family. Well, they were decorating.

As for the crime, it kept me guessing. Just when you think Meg has rounded up the last of the suspects, another appears. Heck, they even include a cyber stalker for good measure who has decided Casey, half of the crime podcast team with Kevin, is her soul mate. Never mind she has never laid eyes on him. The crime centers about a quite current topic, however, DNA testing and it's legit uses.

So, who whacked Ian with the hockey stick in the pasture at the ice rink? There are multiple suspects who'd wish him dead, that's for sure. Was the person in the silver car cruising past Meg and Michael's home involved? How many uses can you think of for a dumbwaiter? What happened to the soon-to-be mama cat in the manger at the church nativity? Can Juncos really predict the weather? Is it suspicious that Maeve planned to basically quit on Friday anyway? How much would it cost to outfit your town's police force with electric cars? Do you know what "curds and whey" is the ol' fashioned term for? Who is that supposed lawyer that is looking for Ian? In fact, who are all those strangers that keep turning up? What mischief is Meg's grandfather into now that is annoying Caroline? Will the Canadians get home in time for Christmas? And, oh, there is always more in a Meg Langslow story? Trust me, you won't be bored. Even now, on book 32, this series hasn't gone stale.

Every time I read a book by Donna Andrews, I want to belong to that family. The mystery is almost secondary to the antics the family gets up to. But the mystery kept my attention, and I hate to admit it, but I was really excited when I was right about who was going to die, and who was responsible. I also like the happy ending that didn't seem contrived. As a bonus, there's nothing like reading a book that takes place during exceptionally cold weather while real life is giving you 100+ degrees outside.

Meg's brother Rob, is doing some work with a Canadian company specializing in DNA. The President of the company, brought a dozen canadians to Caerphilly during the holiday season, to work on the project on site, but made no provisions for lodging, so Meg takes them in. Meg's house also fills up with relatives, while her mother decorates every inch of the house with christmas decor. The canadians are all very nice, but the President, Ian Meredith, is a rude colossal jerk who no one can stand. When Ian is found murdered on her property, Meg decides to do some investigating to find the guilty culprit before Christmas. This was a good book, with plenty of suspects. Its always fun to read about Meg's big extended, sometimes wacky family, and the usual assortment of farm animals and pets. Thank you for the advance copy netgalley!

Donna Andrews does it again. This series never gets old.
Meg is stuck in Canada, with other employees because her boss is forcing them to work on a project that needs to be done pronto. She tries to create a Christmas atmosphere with them all while frantically working to finish the project.
There is much hostility for the boss and when he is found murdered there are a lot of characters who could have done it.
I enjoy the community of people that this book offers us and to me they are integral to the story, They are all fleshed out and I am glad to revisit them.

I may read this again at Christmas.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this arc
