This this was a pretty cute, light-hearted easy, read. It was a pretty cute story and I really loved the book's setting, which was a resort on an SC beach. It was a nice getaway read.
I also loved the MMC, Aiden. The millionaire/billionaire trope is one of my favorite, so I really like story because it was done really good and if a refreshing way.
Overall, if you are looking for a light, easy read, this is the book for you. It wasn't super hot, but it had a little soice added into the story. And was definetly a little bit of a slow burn.
This book was read thanks to NetGally the review took time mostly because I got COVID so i was feeling very tired, anyway here we go.
This book is a enemies to lovers in a small town and while that is really nice to read, the author failed in write enough material for us to like them as a couple, because they feel like a couple that wouldn't last in the long time and i think the author knows that too because in the epilogue isn't that much time after the end.
The positive aspect of this book is that is a quick read that help me go through a read drought so kudos for that.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. Mia and Aiden are fun characters and they have such a cute romance. It is steamy but adorable at the same time.
Pros:
- Mia and Aiden and how they grow together as a couple.
- Side characters have engaging stories that make you want to read the rest of the books in the series.
- Beautiful descriptive scenery that makes you want to visit the beach NOW.
- Believable friendships and other relationships. Many authors fall into the trap of stereotypical small town southern characters but these were well rounded and fun.
(SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT)
Cons:
- There were things hinted at in the story that was never really flushed out. Aiden mentioned the real reason he brings hotels to the area... but then never follows up on that.
- There is no real development beyond "we're dating." They don't know what they are and then suddenly everything is solved with one argument.
- The epilogue is only a couple weeks in the future and doesn't really provide any closure.
Overall, it's a great read and fun characters.
This sounded great by the description but I had a hard time getting into it. Wasn’t a favorite, but cute story and trope.
I'm struggling to decide what to rate this book. It's a cute small-town beach romance that is a perfect book to read to kick off summer, but I wanted to stop reading at times because of how highly annoying I find the love interest to be. Aiden's bouts of jealousy and possessiveness anytime a man was near Mia quickly got tiring. Anytime he was angry he mostly and wrongly directed it at her as well. On the other hand, I really loved Mia. Unlike most romance protagonists she had depth and was refreshing. I found myself getting attached to not only her but also the side characters who I rapidly grew to love. Specifically, Maggie, Mia's best friend/cousin who constantly made me laugh with her crazy antics and intrigued me with her relationship with Finn (they need their own book asap). Overall, if I overlook the problems I have with Aiden, I really liked this book and wish I lived in the fictional Shell Grove. Thanks to Netgalley for the e-arc!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this one in exchange for an honest review.
I am sad to say, or write, that this book didn't meet my expectations. I tried to read the whole book but honestly I had to do an DNF on this one.
I usually love these kinds of books but for some reason I wasn't feeling it. I am a mood reader and I think it might have been the wrong time for this book.
I liked this one. It involved a grumpy sunshine trope that I absolutely adore and it was done right. Aiden is Mia’s Boss. When they met the first time, she didn’t know who he was because he is often absent. His stay was supposed to be only a couple of days but after that first meeting he just couldn’t leave and kept prolonging the leaving and this is just so cute.
HE COULDN’T GET HER OUT OF HIS MIND (in a good way)!!! There was just something about her that made this grumpy go out of his way to be with her.
I also love that he wasn’t this typical billionaire character but very down-to-earth and therefore very likable.
I could relate to Mia a couple of times. She was a good character.
4 stars.

Thank-you NetGalley and publisher for the chance to review this ARC.
I really liked the idea of this book.
The name was catchy but it wasn't a favorite.
I did enjoy a few aspects of it so I will be giving the author and the book itself another try when I'm in a better headspace for it.
I did not enjoy this book. The characters were not like able to to me. I had high hopes after reading the description but was let down.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a fluffy book. It could be really finished in a sitting or two and would be good for a book when waiting for your next hold.
Did I hate this? No. Did I like it? Also no. Was it fun to read? Yes but not necessarily for the reasons you might think. I got most of my entertainment from reading the horribly cringey quotes from this out loud to a friend.
Someone else in their review said that the main couple would break up in a few years, and I couldn't agree more. There is no substance to their relationship. I felt like they barely knew anything about each other. It also didn't feel like love, more like lust. It was also insta-love/ love at first sight which I dislike. They do have a lot of great tension though.
This book is heavily packed with sex scenes. Which I usually don't complain about. However, in this case, although they were fun to read, they felt like they were written by a teenager on Wattpad. There was one particular scene (the jet ski for those who know) that I do not understand how it would work. The dirty talk was the worst thing. It was so cringey and I hated that he constantly called her honey. Also, the use of words like "rod", "mounds", "coochie" and "fisting" made me want to actually perish.
If I'm going to be honest, there was more smut than plot. However, it was a fun plot albeit very formulaic and basic. The conflict at the end felt forced and so unnecessary, though they communicated immediately so it wasn't too bad.
As for the characters, Mia was bland and basic. Blonde, skinny, super hot for no reason. Aiden was a lowkey stalker, overly possessive (which sometimes I don't mind too much) and in every single one of his POVs, he over-sexualized Mia to the point that I felt grossed out (which imo is kinda hard to do). I did like that he mega simped for Mia though.
The side characters I did not care about, the only one mildly developed was Maggie and I didn't like her. I probably won't read the next books in this series but Olivia and Ben's story sounds fun, even though I know next to nothing about them from this book.
My edition had extreme formatting issues, from letters being misplaced, paragraphs being broken up, and the texts being in completely wrong places. It kind of took away from the book.
Overall, not for me, but I got a few laughs out of it.
"Next to you, they don't stand a chance of NOT being invisible."
Small town romance? Check. Grumpy/sunshine trope? Check. Billionaire boyfriend who worships the ground you walk on? Double check.
I devoured this in two days if not less. The only bad part was that I was not, in fact, at a beach reading this.
The plot, the chemistry, the banter, everything is a 10/10. And don't let me start on Aiden's 🌶 talk.. If you know, you know 😏
This is definitely a book you need to perfectly kick off your summer and beach reading - it's cute, it's heartwarming, it has good writing and it's hilarious when needed. I mean what good love story doesn't begin with a dead squirrel?
Keeping my eyes open for #2!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a small town romance-comedy with grumpy x sunshine tropes that I enjoyed more than I thought I would. I love the interaction and the banters of MCs that I think was cleverly writtten. I absolutely love the way the author wrote the side characters and their friendship that encourages both MCs to open up and venturing different choices. I adore how the writtenreally shows the warm feelings and dynamic of the small town well. This was a fun, quick-summer-read for me.
Overall rating: 3.5/5
This book is good enough to see what else the writer has for the future. The storyline was cute, but in NetGalley, several of the reasons weren’t present, so I may have just missed out on crucial parts of the book. For me, the language took the rating down a little and didn’t seem to mesh with the character’s personality for the majority of the book. This one was a strong ‘meh’ but it did keep me entertained and eager to finish reading.
dnf at 40%. i was looking forward to reading this book and was sure that i'd enjoy it but it wasn't for me.
This is a nice first in a series book. It’s fast paced, has some funny moments, and a great small town setting. I am hoping for more character development in subsequent installments. They lack depth at the moment.

Blurbs :
Reason #1: Big, bad CEO Aiden Beaumont wears his grumpy mask every day like a badge of honor. Mia Sparks wants nothing more than to honk his nose or throw a pie in his face, à la The Three Stooges, just to see if he’s capable of smiling. Unfortunately, she can’t. Because he’s technically her boss, and she’d like to keep her gig at the new five-star beach resort for longer than two weeks.
Reason #2: Everyone in her small hometown of Shell Grove, SC hates the man. He brought big business to their little beach town, and as far as her fellow citizens are concerned, that makes him the devil incarnate. But he won’t be staying forever, which works for Mia. She doesn’t go for the flashy city types anyway. She’s quite happy living her quiet life in Shell Grove. The faster the cranky—albeit stupidly hot—CEO is out of her life, the better.
Reason #3: Every time Aiden frowns at her, it hits her like a thousand-watt smile. He has a language all his own, and it’s starting to make way too much sense to her. She can’t avoid him in a town the size of a postage stamp, and it finally hits her that…she doesn’t want to escape him. This always-irritated, too-serious businessman couldn’t possibly be the stable safe haven she’s been looking for. Could he?
Aiden knows there’s a million and one reasons to stay away from the sugary sweet Mia. But who runs away from sunshine after living their entire life in a secluded cave? And when someone from her past unexpectedly emerges and tries to drive a wedge between the two of them? All bets are off. Aiden has never lost a fight in the boardroom, and he’s not about to lose the fight for the woman he wants to deserve. He just has to prove to her that he’s not the PUBLIC ENEMY CEO everyone thinks he is.
Thoughts : Super fun + steamy + short rom-com with grumpy x sunshine trope in it! I somehow really enjoy it more than I thought I would be. It's highly recommended! Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the e-ARC!
Though at times I found the romance cringey and so not real, it kept me distracted which I was so in need of. Would I have bought this book for myself? I don’t exactly think so but as it was kindly sent to me by the publishers in exchange for an honest review, I can say that it did keep me entertained. I finished it in almost one sitting because I wanted to see how it would end but the romance part was just not for me.
Sorry I never received a copy of this download.Still very interested in reading this! I understand if it’s to late, sorry
This was a really cliche book. I couldn't like any of the characters. The male MC had no depth. Sadly I couldn't enjoy it at all
