Thank you so much for an advanced copy of this book. I loved it!
Star Rating: 4⭐️
Genre: Fantasy Romance

I was really excited to read Witcha Gonna Do, and it did not disappoint! I am in love with these characters. I mean, seriously...Avery Flynn did an amazing job with this one!
I went into this book knowing a little about the premise, and I KNEW it sounded right up my alley. What I did not come into the book prepared for was ALL THE STEAM. I found myself getting tied up in the will they/won't they of Tilda and Gil. Of course, I was team will-they all the way! The sexual tension between the main characters is extremely strong, and I especially loved the added element of the magical enhancement. It made their story all the more sexy in my opinion. And again, the steam in this one is serious. It is open door, in your face, and quite frankly, it is HOT. If you're reading this one, you had better buckle up! :)
I also loved the family element to this one. I liked the intricate elements of Tilda's family and its struggle to maintain power, as well as Gil's family struggles in exile I did feel like the lies from Tilda's family were wrapped up too easily, though, and that was part of my reasoning for rating the book four stars. The ending was just a little too easy and perfect IMO. Everything leading up to the ending, though, was absolute perfection!
I flew through this one!!! This was such a fun book to read, and I enjoyed the world building and getting to know all the characters.

Thank you so much Berkley for my gifted copy in exchange for a honest review!
With the proliferation of "witchy" romance books, I'm sure this will garner a lot of attention, and to cover is truly gorgeous. I ultimately found the writing to be a big let down. I mean that both in terms of the sentence-level prose, as well as the overall world-building and the information we are given about characters. I found myself struggling to fill in gaps that were nonsensically left empty by the author. There are lots of options for witchy romances. This would not be high on my list.
#WitchaGonnaDo #NetGalley Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this novel. I encourage you to check this one out! Really solid read.
Witcha Gonna Do by Avery Flynn, book one in the Witchington series, is a fun witchy, small town, enemies to lovers romance. Tilda Sherwood is a member of the most powerful family of witches. However, she is a null; having no magical abilities, handling her family’s social media presence. While using a matchmaker, she repeatedly gets set up on dates with Gil Connolly, her nemesis. When she somehow causes her sister’s spell to glitch, she needs to turn to others for help. Gil believed in Tilda; believed she had hidden, magical powers. While helping her group of misfit witches Gil fell for Tilda, despite pretending otherwise.
In typical Flynn style, this enchanting story, set in an imaginary world, filled with magical secret societies and interesting characters is a light and humorous read, alternating points of view between Tilda and Gil. There are unpredictable humorous moments that will endear Tilda and Gil to readers; as they share off the charts, sizzling chemistry and humorous, clever banter. Both Gil and Tilda change and develop as the story progresses; discovering new aspects of themselves. Themes within this story include family, friendship, lies, deception, secrets, resistance, power, romance, and so much more. I recommend Witcha Gonna Do to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I had a little trouble getting into this one but it came together about halfway through. The enemies to lovers trope was well done. I would have enjoyed more information about the witchy world in the book, and especially more background about the FMC’s family, the Sherwoods.
I hope there are more books in this series, I would like to read more.
Thanks to Berkeley Romance for the complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.
The beginning of this book was a little too chaotic for me. I almost gave up. I’m not a fantasy reader, and the world building and magical elements in the opening chapters made my head spin. For me, this was definitely an instance of taking a look at all of the elements, looking in the mirror, and taking one off – Coco Chanel-style.
However, I urge you to stick with it! The relationship between Tilda and Gil and the humor grew on me, and I ended up enjoying it.

There is a lot going on in this book. We're being introduced to this world and the main characters at the same time. I thought it was a pretty strong start to this series, so I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
Tilda and Gil have great chemistry, so most of their scenes are fun.
Tilda is a member of one of the most powerful witch families but she has no magical abilities. She's decided it's time to move forward with her life. That means going out on dates but the last three set-ups have been with Gil Connolly. He's so hot but she can't stand him.
Things are frustrating, to say the least until she accidentally makes her sister's spell go array. The spell curses the whole family and she turns to Gil to help her break the spell.
They now have to work together to save her family and keep this whole fiasco quiet from her family's enemies. And fight the attraction growing between them.
Thank you so much to the author and ValentinePR for this ARC to review.
Love, love, love Witcha Gonna Do! The story and the characters had me enchanted right from the beginning!
A touch of fun, a sprinkle of magic and a smattering of romance all make this story a joy to read! I absolutely loved these characters and the magical world this story took us into because how can you go wrong with a seven foot unicorn and a witch who sneezes out her spells? Add in a touch of drama as the opposing families reach confrontation levels and the storyline is complete.
Tilda (Matilda Grace Sherwood) was such an easy character to love. She may come across as the black sheep of the Sherwoods of Virginia, but she is sweet, innocent and has no idea that she holds the powers of a spellbinder.
Gil Connolly may be her nemesis but many lines are crossed between them as he tries to protect her from the truth of who she is and the power she holds. And the truth is, she holds the power to own his heart.
I loved this new book from Avery Flynn. It was so different from her normal contemporaries but also felt familiar with her writing style. I also thought it was unique to do a paranormal RomCom. As an avid reader, that’s not something I had seen before and it worked great. The author built this whole world around a unique concept of witches that hasn’t been seen in paranormal romance. Tilda was so unique and was a hilarious character. She had accepted her lot in life until that lot get upended. Then it’s up to a woman without magic to save everyone. The way she went about it was awesome too. Honestly, the characters were too notched and I’m looking forward to more books in the series.

Imagine you are a non-magical person, born into the most powerful and revered witch family in the world. Now imagine that you are trying to date in said world, but you keep getting set up on blind dates with your magic-wielding nemesis…by your family matchmaker (and godmother) no less! Eventually, you are somehow responsible for a curse that is placed on your entire family (”entire” meaning the extended, far-reaching members as well), and you have to team up with your aforementioned nemesis to save them. Throw in some nefarious secret sects, trolls, magical mushrooms, a very grumpy but lovable unicorn, rescuing people from exile, the best friends anyone could ask for, and a magical heist that is worthy of Nicolas Cage, and you’ve got yourself Witcha Gonna Do?.
Both Tilda and Gil are hilarious and likable characters placed in this incredibly fun, modern magical world that Avery Flynn has created! Let the magic sweep you off your feet, and happy reading!

She may come from one of the most powerful families around, but Tilda Sherwood is a witch without any powers. She’s accepted her fate, but what she can’t accept is getting set up again and again with Gil Connolly, whose arrogance is only matched by his good looks.
But, when Tilda accidentally curses her entire family, Gil is the only one, along with a few of her magically misfit friends, that can help her save them. But, Gil has secrets of his own and a brand of magic that is outlawed because it builds upon people’s desires, intensifying their emotions.
As they race to come up with a plan to save the Sherwoods and outmaneuver a group looking to dominate all of witchdom, Tilda and Gil must also figure out if their feelings are real or a part of Gil’s magic.
Avery Flynn created a really fun world with some quirky characters that readers will really enjoy. Tilda is like a witchy nerd, but without any true powers that she knows of. She’s klutzy and always seems to find herself in situations she’d rather avoid. But, her heart is pure and she does her best to put others first at all times. And, she’s falling for Gil and can’t figure out why. And, Gil . . . he has so many secrets and readers will need to see if he can be trusted or not when it comes to Tilda. But, even as we try to decipher what his motives are, their chemistry is undeniable and their story is a whole lot of unexpected fun!
Witcha Gonna Do was a quirky paranormal romance with a whole lot of sexy spark and plenty of laughs to keep readers entertained. 4 stars!
Tilda is the only member of her family that doesn’t have magic which has trying to find her place. She has also struggled finding the right guy so she gets very frustrated when she keeps getting setup with Gil. Gil is working to free his parents from the Beyond so he is investigating different witches and his current assignment is Tilda. What neither expect is the incredible connection they have which seems to heighten Gil’s magic. This sets them on a crazy and wonderful journey that had me captivated. Tilda doesn’t want to like Gil but life has a different plan for them. Then Tilda desperately needs his help when something goes horribly wrong when her sister is casting a spell. Can Tilda and the other misfits fix what went wrong and save her family? I really didn’t know what to expect from this story when I dove in but what I found was a magical world that is full of surprises that swept me away. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
✨ PRINCEMAN REVIEW ✨
What's a genre that you can't get enough of right now? For me, I have been LOVING all things paranormal romance. So, when #witchagonnado came out this week, I knew I had to get my hands on it!
📝 Tilda comes from one of the most powerful witch families. Unfortunately, she has ZERO magical abilities of her own. Things get even worse when she continuously gets set up on blind dates with Gil, her hot nemesis, and she casts a spell upon her family unintentionally. It's up to Tilda, her misfit friends and Gil to save the day before the council finds out.
What I 🤍:
🪄 Magical World
💕 Close Friendships
🔥 Passionate Open Door Scenes
📖 Spellbook Heist
This book will transport you into another world filled with witches, trolls, goblins, and a resistance group. If you love #romantasy, this is for you! Unfortunately, I felt these things were all thrown in there, but weren't described as thoroughly as I would have enjoyed.
Additionally, the characters talk to the reader, especially Tilda, and that just threw me off. I felt like it took away from the plot of the story, which then made it hard for me to connect with the characters. But, if you enjoy that type of casual writing, then this book is for you!

I am curious to see a final edition of this book! There were some character descriptions that changed throughout the book (for example, Tilda's chest size). I know those aren't huge details, but I know edits can make a big difference. 😊
This book is avaliable now! Thank you so much to @valentine_pr_ , @berkleyromance and @netgalley for an ARC of this book.
For the start of a series, this book definitely reads like a story set in a fully established world. I was surprised to find that we are only at the beginning and excited to watch the books further evolve all these interesting characters!
Tilda is the “dud” of the family. Her family also happens to be the tippy top of the witch hierarchy, so it’s especially embarrassing. The add to her already heaping plate, she somehow keeps getting matched with Gil, an infuriating witchy sort with his own hidden baggage. These two dance around the issue until an absolutely shocking turn of events - Tilda unknowingly triggers something that only witches and one particularly rare book can undo. Enter Gil, to save the day (sort of)!
Tilda is definitely not the damsel in distress type, and has surrounded herself with the folks in town that also don’t fit their expectations. It’s this crew that rallies around her to really save the day. This story ends up resolving itself in a HEA, but I have so many questions about the other characters! I guess that ended up getting me hooked and I’m eager to learn more about this universe!
Really enjoyed this laugh out loud, action packed and highly entertaining magical adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, family drama, dangerous mystery and heart racing twists and turns. This magical journey was both emotionally thrilling and so much fun to read from beginning to end.
First off can we say how cute this cover is!! Whoever designed this it's adorable!
This was my first book by Avery Flynn and it was a delight! If you're someone who likes magic, fourth walls being broken, and enemies to lovers, this is definitely the book for you! The banter between Gil and Tilda was so fun to read about! I'm not sure that writing style was my absolute favorite, sometimes I found myself getting a little annoyed, but hey, I still had fun throughout.
The book is full of wit and I do like how we will be getting more books in this series! I think as the world develops and builds more, it'll draw people in, but I don't think this was a terrible start. The plot was fun, kept you on your toes, and it was definitely a fast read.
Like I said, maybe the writing style wasn't my absolute favorite, but I also haven't read that many fourth wall books. (The first line starts with "Hi. *Waves.* That's me.") So, if that's not your style, maybe check out some other witchy books? But also don't let that deter you from entering this world and the adventure that is Gil and Tilda's relationship and quests!
Definitely add this book to your TBR and give it a shot! Can't wait to see what Avery Flynn does next!
Thank you to Valentine PR, Avery Flynn, and Berkley for an ARC copy for an honest review!
Tilda Sherwood belongs to a powerful family of witches, but she was born without magical abilities. When she asks her godmother to set her up on dates, Tilda keeps being paired with Gil, an attractive yet smug man that she’d rather avoid. But when she accidentally curses her family, Tilda needs to overlook her desire for Gil in order to save them.
Witcha Gonna Do was an enjoyable, fast-paced read. Being able to experience the story through both Tilda and Gil’s POVs made it a more engaging read. I loved seeing romance bloom between the two. There’s also a found family element with Eli and Birdie, two other witches whose powers didn’t manifest. My absolute favorite character was Vance, a grumpy unicorn shifter who speaks his mind and has a penchant for Lucky Charms.
With small town romance, found family, protector vibes, witchy politics, and some steam, Witcha Gonna Do proves a cute start to the Witchington series.
Special thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.
What's more humiliating than asking - okay, fine, begging, demanding, going all hey-big-wizard-that's-a-big-wand-you've-got sex kitten - my absolute most hated archenemy to kiss me?
The fact that he doesn't.
Tilda's life has taken, yet another, disastrous turn. She keeps getting set up with THE worst person. Is she attracted to him? Yes. Does she hate him? Also yes! Why does this keep happening. She's about to find out.
Gil has a job to do. Get his parents out of exile. That is his number one priority. Things become much more complicated. His assignment is to spy on Tilda. But all of these things keep happening - and he is struggling to fight the feelings he's having for Tilda. She's definitely not what he expected. And he's not sure what is going to happen if he fails his mission.
This is a fun book with magic, steamy times and fun characters!
#readwitchyallyear
Witch reads are read year round over here. Along with the smut and romance which this one also includes.
Tilda is a null (with no magic) from a family of witches. Gil is covertly investigating her to discover what magic she has since he thinks she's hiding something. Their enemies to lovers situation is super spicy.
This is told in dual POV which I love. It definitely helps in a romance.
The world was fun with WitchyGram and curses and the sense of humor.
Thank you berkleyromance and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
