This was a great little romance about two people who definitely don't want to date but fall in love anyway. I really enjoyed the journey that Wilson took us on, and I'll be reading more in the future!
I unfortunately did not like this at all. To say a therapist literally ignores her own assault, like come on.
Sadly there was no romance, not a lot of comedy and yeah, sad for this one!
Really enjoyed this one! Such a great cast of characters. Can't wait to read the author's next work.
"The Love Experiment" is an easy, fun read. Lily, the "Love Dr." gives killer advice but can't sort out her own love life. Jay's so future-focused, he forgets to live in-the-now. Sparks fly when they meet. Their flirty chat and relatable hang-ups made me smile. It's a solid romcom for the most part.
After the first chapter I realized this book was not for me. I didn't like the main character and the writing style didn't appeal to my taste,
Well this had an unexpected level of appeal for me which I discovered within the first few chapters, as Dr Lily Galbraith's best friend is a drag queen, and I do love anything set in the world of drag.
And there is certainly a lot of that storyline, and multiple trips to the local drag club in Bristol. Ok it wasn't the main focus of the book, but as supplementary storylines, it really made me smile.
And the initial chemistry between Lily and Jay is rather off the charts, even if for their own stubborn reasons they are determined not to do anything about it.
It's a will they, won't they romance that keeps you guessing throughout, with a very entertaining journey. There is good character development, and I also enjoyed getting to know Jay's sister Cassie, as well as both Lily and Jay's jobs.
The book alternates between the two characters point of views, so we really were able to get to know the characters very well.
I loved the two different view points of dating / love / relationships, of the two leads, and just how they could clash but also have fantastic off the charts chemistry.
This was a really enjoyable story to read, which I loved.
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I tried really hard to love this book, but unfortunately it just didn't work out for me. I like the fact that Lily, the main female character, is a sex and relationship psychologist. I appreciate the way she is very independent and a hard working woman.
Unfortunately, I did not like the style of writing. I felt the abrupt changes in perspective were very disorientating. If these switches had been marked in the chapter titles, for example, I would have liked the story better. Not having this makes reading very difficult. Additionally, this book was a lot more therapy orientated touching heavier subjects that I initially thought it would be.
I absolutely loved this book. It hooked me and kept me turning pages until I was done. Finished it in two days! The character development was strong, and the premise was unique enough that it didn't feel like anything else I've read.
I honestly don’t know how to rate this because I truly disliked it.
The way its written, the way the plot is being built… Not one thing was okay-ish for me.
No romance, no comedy, just not enjoyable.
Unfortunately, I did not like this book. I found the male perspective in this text to be disingenuous and inauthentic. I didn't feel for the characters and had no interest in their relationship. I won't be recommending this text to others.
I was so surprised by how much I loved this, I loved the fact it had drag queens in it I love the friendships the relationships and everything in between. It was such a light hearted funny exciting romance and I loved it from start to finish!
The characters are so relatable, it gives you butterflies, laughter and everything you need from a feel good book!
Definitely pick this one up!
Enjoyable chick lit that will see you safely through your summer holidays on the beach or in the dark winter nights
Like chicken soup on a cold day, just really nice to snuggle up with and read. Very enjoyable, Thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
This is definitely a quirky book that will find an audience for readers who like their romance with a heaping helping of humor. I do like humor and snark, and it still took me a bit to get used to the writer’s style of writing. But- once I did, I got to enjoy a funny book that was different that any I’ve ready this year. Read without hesitation! I look forward to the next book from Wilson.
I love Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood, but The Love Experiment completely missed the mark for me. The main character, the story, and the writing style all didn’t work for me. There was a lot of telling the reader what happened throughout the book, and it took me out of the story. Lily could have been a great main character, but her PCOS diagnosis and sexual assault in her past were all handled poorly for me; there are so many instances throughout the book where she makes decisions that are major red flags that I really didn’t find myself rooting for the main couple.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is literally impossible to get through, Trust me, I've tried. It doesn't help that I'm in a slump starting from July, but the characters are confusing and difficult to relate to, and I can't engage myself in the story
My favorite things about this book are the characters and the setting. The characters were vibrant, full of life and really come off the page. The main characters that we follow are Lily and Jay and if you are a fan of You’ve got mail, you will like this book. The story has a diverse group of characters, with representation in the LGBTQIA community as well as individuals with disabilities. It was not only a contemporary romance but a story about working out past trauma, moving on, being able to ask for help and accepting the wonderful person that they are. The setting was colorful, fun, and felt so alive I just wanted to be a part of it. The writing was good, and I loved the descriptions and atmosphere. The romance was ok, I was kind of back and forth about their relationship just because of the context and a bit of conflict of interest. Overall, this contemporary romance with dual perspective was good and I would recommend it.
Trigger warnings: domestic abuse
I received this advanced ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.
Unfortunately, this wasn't one of my favourites. I simply couldn't buy into the relationship and I found the pacing to be off. The concept and pitch were really fun, and I adored the cover. I will pick up the next Kitty Wilson book, and maybe this one just wasn't for me.
This was a cute and sweet read! I fell in love with the characters and was instantly hooked! Definitely a book I didn’t want to put down! I love a good romance where the couple is just so perfect for each other!
I throughly enjoyed this novel. In fact, it’s one of the few lately that has held my attention throughout the entire story. While I could see a few things coming, I never felt like rushing though it. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
