Despite it taking a little while for me to read- I actually quite liked this book!
It was very .. spicy but I found the insta-love/lust romance between the two characters enjoyable! They really seemed to bounce off one another. It wasn't exactly like the typical fake dating I've read but in a good way!
I liked the one POV as I find it a little confusing sometimes and don't always need to know what the male MC is thinking- a little mystery is good and makes it more entertaining in my opinion.

I probably won't be coming back to this one, or really remember much of it but the spice was good while it lasted and I'm happy I picked up an advance copy of this book!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy. This book didn’t have the best plot but it did have a whole lot of spice. I liked the sleepless in Seattle references.

I genuinely found it so difficult to read this book. I know Christmas books are meant to be cheesey but this one was off the scale. Was not a fan

I had a hard time warming into the FMC perspective after a point. This was steamier than I thought it would be. Overall it was cute and worth a read.

I didn’t rate this one on Amazon since it was a three star for me.

4⭐, 3🌶️

Ahh a good one-night stand turned fake dating relationship! This book gave Thanksgiving and Christmas-y romance vibes which I loved having read the week before Thanksgiving, and while Rebecca wasn't my favorite kind of FMC, I loved the black cat, golden retriever relationship she had with Connor. This was a nice and enjoyable romance!

Fake dating is my favourite trope, and I love books set around Thanksgiving, It's a really cosy time of year, and I love the vibes of food and family it brings with it,

It did however feel odd to have a British author writing about Thanksgiving, although it was written well.

I read this book after a few thrillers as I needed something a little more light-hearted but I didn't expect to love it so much!

Rebecca Madison is a 33-year-old London-based contract lawyer and has just found out that her younger sister is engaged - to her ex-boyfriend. She meets 29-year-old furniture designer Hudson in a hotel lobby and after a one-night-stand she discovers he is in a bit of a predicament.

Rebecca is expected to attend Thanksgiving/an engagement party at her family's home in New York and, wanting to save face, draws up a contract inviting Hudson to act as her boyfriend on the trip and she will help him out with his issues.

We all know where this is going and I have always said I don't like spicy scenes just for the sake of it (and this book has a lot of spice!) but it was there for a reason. We see massive character development with Rebecca and you could feel her cool and collected exterior chip away as she spent more time with Hudson and each of their families. A really lovely read!

This book was okay. I didn't love it but didn't hate it. I think it had potential but didn't quite get there. At least not for me. Thanks for the opportunity to read it!

This starts out with a hot one night stand and definitely pulls you in with their immediate connection. But a lot of their connection is just physical and I definitely wanted more emotional and heartfelt moments between the two. I feel like we didn't get to know either of them that well and I would have liked to see more individual growth.

Overall this was very steamy and a fun holiday read. There were some things I definitely didn't enjoy in the third act centered around miscommunication and especially the Hero's behavior that made me so upset and I didn't feel was addressed enough.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really loved this fake dating romance between a straight-laced contract lawyer and the woodworker one night stand she convinces to be her boyfriend for the holidays. Perfect for fans of the Wedding date movie, this was a British romance with some deliciously steamy scenes. A surprise delight I can't recommend this one enough!!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Rebecca and Hudson. They meet in a bar and have a one night stand. Rebecca is a lawyer and Hudson is a furniture maker. Rebecca needs Hudson to be her her fake boyfriend when she goes home for Thanksgiving. She sets up a contract, offers money to Hudson and get Hudson to sign it. There is an attraction between them. They keep apart from one another. They fall in love.
