Love Under Contract was quite a steamy read! I liked both Cassie and Hudson and I was willing them both to make a happy ending.

I liked the storyline and would recommend the book to anyone that wants to lose themselves I. A steamy romantic read for a few hours.

This book is a great reminder that although important, work is not what defines us. Love and family are what clearly come first. Rebecca created a barrier around her that was impenetrable and the more she worked, the larger it became. She was not living but merely existing and it was sad to see her true lack of relationships. Hudson brought color to her life. His exuberance of those around him rubbed off on her and anyone he touched. Yes, there is a lot of physical intimacy but it is necessary yo have a healthy connection.

What would you do if your sister is marrying your ex? No date for the wedding so Rebecca hires one Hudson. She doesn't want to head to a thanksgiving lunch alone so with the strapped crash Hudson is hired to play her boyfriend. Whilst they travel to NY a photo is taken which goes viral.

Here's to the next round of Rebbeca and Hudson at Hudson House this time. When it's a fake romance then none what happens when you fall for the other. Will we ever see each other again.

Ugh, the vibes! I loved this atmosphere! Exactly the type of read I like during the end of the year. Great vibe, cool writing, amazing characters, strong woman, funny, so cute: I loved it all!

The premise of this book is sweet, and I enjoyed the reverse grumpy/sunshine dynamics, but there were things that were inconsistent throughout the novel, or were brought up initially but then not followed up on which were disappointing. The ending also felt rushed, and unexplained prior to the epilogue.

I really enjoyed this book and it surprised me. I would give this book 6 stars if I could. The book was well thought out and kept me engaged and entertained. I loved all the characters and their development. I will definitely come back and read this book again.

Rebecca is a button upped lawyer and she meets Hudson at a bar on the night she finds out her sister is marrying her ex-boyfriend. She does something she doesn't do that night and takes Hudson to her hotel room so he can "unbutton" her. Not wanting to go to America alone to celebrate Thanksgiving and her sister's engagement, Rebecca draws up a contract to have Hudson go along with her as her boyfriend. Hudson is in need of cash due to his business partner pulling out of their arrangement. They go to NY and while there, a photo is taken of Hudson and Rebecca that goes viral ....random. So now Hudson's Mom thinks he has a girlfriend and wants to meet her so the charade continues. Enjoyable story. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Great love story with the fake dating trope. There were some very funny parts. Rebecca and Hudson draw up a contract for him to be her fake boyfriend during a Thanksgiving visit to her family in New York where her sister and her fiancé will be as well. The fiancé is Rebecca’s ex boyfriend. I would read this one again.

Fake relationship is such a good trope and it's done really well here. I had a fantastic time reading about Rebecca and Hudson's relationship, properly bought into it right from the start. A lot of fun.

For some reason, I am a sucker for "fake dating" romances. Rebecca, as fast tracked hot shot contracts lawyer and Hudson, a furniture builder. Set in 2 beautiful places, NYC and London. Could it get any steamier than this? Rebecca initially brings home Hudson to ward off anyone feeling sorry for now that her sister is engaged to Rebecca's ex. This book has all the feels. I completely loved it!

Looking for some steamy Brit chick lit? This! Love Under Contract is pacey, swoony and HOT. Cassie Connor gives us a cracking winter read with a buttoned-up heroine and a super dreamy hero. Rebecca and Hudson had me smitten from the off. There’s Fake Dating, Grumpy/Sunshine, Holiday tropes with London, New York and Cotswold backdrops – what’s not to like? Loved it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love Under Contract by Cassie Connor is your hallmark-ish meet cute story. Becs (short for Rebecca), a high-powered and all-business contract attorney meets a handsome (not attorney type) hunk-a-hunk-a burning love named Hudson at a bar, and she has her first one-night stand. But it’s a mind-blowing night for a 30ish woman who is all about being buttoned up and all business in life and doesn’t need a man to be successful. That is until she has to go home to New York City and face her sister, who is going to marry her ex-boyfriend. In a moment of insanity (or good luck?), she asks Hudson to escort her back to the States and be her “pretend” boyfriend. Only these two can’t keep their hands to themselves. Cute story, pretty predictable, a fun read, and steamy…what’s not to like? This one was an easy read and just good old fashion, sexy happy times. #lust #love #hotness #steam #businessOnlyGirl #sweetdude #fun #personalityplus #goodinthesack #romance #lawyer @netgalley #cassieconnor #LoveUnderContract @onemorechapterhc #fakedating

Love Under Contract by Cassie Connor was a mixed read for me. I love Hudson, the love interest, so much. He’s sweet, cute, loves to cuddle, and cares about his family. Rebecca, on the other hand, is judgmental, supercilious, and unable to be wrong (which is a seriously bad trait in a human). She really doesn’t have any redeeming traits. Even her work “bestie” thinks she’s a terrible person.

Seriously, she needs therapy, badly. She literally puts work ahead of everyone in her life and thinks they’re wrong for pointing out how unhealthy that is. This problem is, obviously, solvable, right? Gaining perspective about the role of work in life is something anyone can do. But she doesn’t do it. Instead, she decides that she can delegate if she wants to. Is that supposed to show that she’s grown?

One of Hudson’s siblings tells him that, in his relationship with Rachel, he is punching above his weight class but I really disagree. He’s too healthy and well-rounded for Rachel. He deserves a woman who will take a good look at herself and figure out why she can’t have healthy personal relationships.

The story is okay, just dissatisfying. I wanted her to grow, to lift up women, to stop judging every single person she met. Seriously, it’s okay to wear jeans. It’s okay to be a woman who has walking shoes. We don’t have to sneer at people who like to camp or want to have children or make crafts for a living. Her dismissal of every woman who didn’t sacrifice life for career is so toxic it made me uncomfortable.

It’s probably worth reading for Hudson and his delightful family. Maybe someone could fanfic Hudson a better love interest, someone who deserves him.

Love Under Contract is a fun, steamy fake dating romance. Rebecca and Hudson meet in a bar as they both get bad news, and by chapter two we are already getting some incredibly hot action between the two. They are opposites in many ways- Rebecca is a buttoned up workaholic city lawyer with a cold family, while Hudson is a laidback furniture maker whose family is about as open and comfortable as you can get. Rebecca offers to pay Hudson to come home with her for Thanksgiving and pretend to be her boyfriend, and real sparks begin to fly.

I loved Hudson’s character and adored his family. His sisters are hilarious and they stole the show in their chapters. The sex scenes were steamy and numerous but definitely added to the story rather than taking away from it. The author did a great job conveying the chemistry between the lead characters! Rebecca took quite a long time to come around to some necessary character development and could be hard to root for when she was in her own head, but when she is with Hudson the pair are just dreamy together. I loved the contrast between her family and Hudson’s family, which goes a long way in explaining why they are the people they currently are.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins Uk - One More Chapter for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

When you are so engrossed in a story, you lose track of time and have to tell yourself to go to bed at 2AM, you know you have found an absolutely fabulous read! Love Under Contract almost had me up all night...but I did have to get a few hours of sleep...

Rebecca Madison is a lawyer that holds her own with the "old guard." She is focused on her career and does not need a man, but when her younger sister announces she is engaged to her ex and is invited to the States for a Thanksgiving/engagement celebration, Rebecca is determined to not be the butt of any joke. After a one night stand that she cannot get out of her head, she proposes a "fake" relationship to Hudson, and off they fly to New York to fool her family. Except, who is really being fooled?

There is so much steamy chemistry in Becca and Hudson's story. Family is also a strong storyline, from both characters' point of view. The Strong Family is so loveable and Rebecca's family may need some help. There are great lessons to be learned in relationships and even the working world. There's a little bit of everything in this delightful romantic comedy.

Thank you Cassie Connor, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchanged for a honest review. Love Under Contract comes out November 1, 2022.

On the night Rebecca finds out that her sister is engaged to Rebecca's ex, she decides to have a one night stand with the crazy attractive man who was sitting by her at the bar (what she thought was going to be a one night stand). Even though she said it was only going to be a one night stand, Rebecca decides to see if Hudson will fake date her during her family's Thanksgiving in exchange for the money to continue his woodworking business. After an amazing Thanksgiving holiday Rebecca is sad but determined to never see Hudson again until he pulls a Uno reverse and has her come to his family's Christmas celebration as his fake date. Keeping their emotions in check was fine during the first fake scenario but will they be able to keep them in check during the second.

I thought this book was funny, sweet and steamy. The characters had great chemistry and you really root for them to figure their stuff out to get together. I love reverse grumpy sunshine and that was a strong theme with Rebecca being grumpy but sweet and Hudson being super sunshiny. I do have to say I wish it would have been dual POV , I think it would have enriched the reading experience to know what was going through his brain. I also was hoping for Rebecca and her sister to hash out their strained relationship a little bit more then they did. Over all though I really enjoyed this book and think it is a worth while read!

This was a fun read but the lack of emotional growth by the main character drove me crazy. She has so many breakthroughs and then just keeps doing the same things. It frustrated me and make me want to stop reading. I kept going and I enjoyed the ending but the journey was a bumpy road. The romantic lead felt underdeveloped and I never got the sense we actually knew anything about him other then he was good at sex. I wanted more depth from the character and never got it..

I did enjoy the settings and side characters and it was well written but not sure it’s a book I would reread.

Thanks to Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and NetGallery for the eArc for my honest review.

Fake relationship deliciousness! I'm a big fan of rom coms and this really had it all. Funny, heart warming and sexy. Hudson is witty and charismatic just as Rebecca is so while they may not be from the same worlds they're a perfect match.
