I really enjoyed this. It is rare for me to read all the text in an art book, but I found this one fascinating, and loved the backstory and insights into Anthony Barboza and his work. The photographs were beautiful, and definitely inspirational material. This is well worth a look for anyone interested in photography, black history, or art in general.

This is an EXCELLENT book—once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The essays are impeccable, and I learned a lot about Barboza in his featured interview. He’s taken so many iconic photographs which have shaped American history and pop culture, but he hasn’t always been credited for his work publicly. Many of his images are staples, and many others I hadn’t seen before. It was a pleasure to look through so many of his photographs. His concept of “eye dreaming” is a version of something I’ve heard of before by other names through other photographers, but this coinage and his explanation is particularly beautiful. I love this term and will always be thinking of it.
I don't know anything about photo except that I'm a huge fan see it, but in the tecnichal ground I'm so dumb...but this guy is so talented (and the way he worked with Grace Jones, OMG! I wish) and give this flashback to his carrer is one trip that allows to see how other pieople lives and how he saw their place in this world
