Action packed and steamy as heck book... Although not as long as I would have liked it to be... Maybe I just turned the pages way too quickly as I was trying to see what would happen next... Lol....

like me a mafia story. Nothing wrong with a good novella that draws you in from the start. Mafia family stories usually get me going in books.

Violence - obsession - mafia - and yea, some serious heat! Serious business that puts the "fun" in dysfunction. Quick and intense read, just plain fun!

Alceu by Jade Marshall is the First book in the Cammareri Family Series. This is the story of Alceu Cammareri and Guilia Rossi. Salvador Berlusconi is a rival family for Alceu and he looks to find his weakness which turns out to be Guilia. Guilia's father has promised her to a awful man, so she goes to someone just as bad for help...Alceu. Quick hot story.

I found this novel thoroughly entertaining and amusing and certainly was a nice read. I am generally interested in this genre of novel and enjoyed the read. I would suggest people read it and experience this novel first hand.

This was a short story with excessive and graphic violence and sexual content. In my opinion, it was sloppily written, with no real plot. It seems that the author was attempting to gain a "shock value" but it only hindered the story more. I will not be reading this author again.

This was a really quick and fast paced read. Common enemies bring Alceu and Giulia together in a marriage of convenience. Through their time together, lines get blurred and the act of convenience is no longer such. I thought it was an okay read. It was too short for any real character and plot development to really flourish though. Characters were fine though, albeit sometimes questionable but I feel that that’s kind of normal in these quick mafia tropes. But for a short story, I think it was as good as it could be. For me, some of the best moments were really the brotherly bond that we were given and just how they accepted Giulia as family was a nice touch. Even though I’m giving this 3 stars, I definitely would still read the next in the series. It would be interesting to see her sister’s story next.

3.75 stars-- ALCEU is the first instalment and novella in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult CAMMAERERI FAMILY dark, erotic, Mafia series. This is head of the Cammareri Family Alceu Cammareri, and Mafia princess Guilia Rossi’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alceu and Guilia) ALCEU focuses on the marriage of convenience between head of the Cammareri Family Alceu Cammareri, and Mafia princess Guilia Rossi. Guilia Rossi has been ‘promised’ to Salvador Berlusconi, a man of her father’s choosing. An ‘offer’ from south coast Mafia don Alceu Cammareri gives Guilia the option of a marriage of convenience, meant to save Guilia from a man who intends to do her harm, and allow Alceu to take back control from a power hungry rival. Married without the knowledge of her family, Guilia is quickly falling for a man she knows nothing about but a man who promises her everything and more. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Guilia and Alceu, and the potential fall-out as Salvador is determined to reclaim Guilia as his own.

The relationship between Guilia and Alceu is one of immediate attraction; a relationship and marriage of convenience in which Alceu promise to protect Guilia and Guilia promises to remain strong. Raised in the Mafia lifestyle, to be the perfect Mafia wife, Guilia becomes both partner and ally to the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Alceu’s brothers: Severu, Mancuso, and Stefano, as well as Guilia’s parents, her eighteen year old sister Andrea, and Salvador Berlusconi. There is a story developing between Andrea and Stefano.

ALCEU is a fast paced, quick read; a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and love. The premise is captivating; the romance is insta-lust to love; the characters are powerful and energetic.

The plot was so fucking good. I loved it. I always have a sweet spot for 'Good Gone Bad' girls who let themselves consumed by the darkness. However, the writing could have been much better than this.

I fell in love with this book from the start. I love how all the details make it possible for me to just get lost in the book. I fell in love with characters.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. This book was very short and I was disappointed because it wanted it to go on and on! I loved every single moment of this story. I was completely invested within minutes! Kudos to the author! I hope to see some books about the brothers. Anything! Bring me back into their world!

I loved everything about Alceu, it's a fast paced short mafia romance that immediately sucks you in. From the very beginning, you'll fall in love with Alceu and Guilia. Their relationship from the first moment, all the tropes, everything about this makes you wanting (needing) more.

I enjoyed seeing Guilia being a badass, immediately taking lead and taking no shit, making all the boys swoon, even Alceu. The level of pettiness coming from Alceu, and Guilia jumping in head first is amazing.

This is my first book by Jade Marshall and it certainly won't be my last.

I received an arc of this book and I'm leaving an honest review voluntarily.

Crazy fast read. Took me 45 minutes to get through. Quality storyline with characters thst were ok. Nothing remarkable or a pull to want more from main or secondary characters. I had hopes for this title, that idd see more depth. I really feel like the author has that potential too. Editing was great compared to other Evernight Publishing titles. I'll keep an eye out for more titles from Jade Marshall and see if she expands her potential. She should. She has the potential.

Giulia Rossi is a pawn. She's been promised in marriage to mafia leader, Salvador Berlisconi. Guilia can't stand Salvador. He talks to her disrespectfully and she knows life with him will be miserable. Yet, her father doesn't seem to care and she knows it's because it's been arranged and to back out now would endanger her family.

Alceu Cammareri is the head of a rival mafia family. He wants to incite a war with Salvador and has been told his weakness is his fiancee, Giulia. Armed with this knowledge, Alceu approaches her and offers her a deal. A marriage of convenience with him. It protects her from Salvador and he can't retaliate against her family because they'll know nothing of it. Neither of them plan on it being a marriage in the real sense, however feelings manage to creep in.

This was a short story and I often struggle with those. However, the author did a wonderful job of establishing detailed characters and a mafia world that they live in with very little time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and didn't feel like anything was missing.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

3.75*

I really enjoyed this one. It’s short easy read but I Iiked both Alceu and Giulia. Giulia turned out to be a strong intelligent woman who didn’t put a foot wrong throughout the entire book.

I’ll admit I wasn’t sure at first. Alceu opened by telling us how dark he was. My first thought was it’s going to be one of those books. All talk and no action. But it wasn’t so don’t worry. And while I’m grateful he got together with Giulia I don’t really see why he needed her. I know, I know I shouldn’t complain.

Anyway I enjoyed this and I’ll be looking out for the next one.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

**3.75 Stars**

This is was a very quick, fast-paced mafia novella involving Alceu, a major mob boss, who is looking to get revenge on someone else by taking his fiance, Guilia for himself. Guilia's parents arranged a marriage for her with Salvador, and it's the last thing she wants. Alceu Cammareri shows up with an enticing offer to get her out of the arrangement, but is the new arrangement going to be better?

There was a lot of action and drama and revenge and the book was extremely fast-paced. This was a new author for me so I am not sure if this is how all of her books are or if this was kind of a prequel novella, but I maybe wish it was a bit slower with some more development and offered some more time for the main characters to actually build their relationship a bit more, as there was a definite insta-lust/love vibe to the story. Alceu was well written and an interesting story line and I would definitely be interested to read more of the author's work.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.. Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book.
