Hooray for Trucks! had lots of different trucks, which my 3 year old loved. The illustrations were bright and engaging for little kids, and the story was simple but fun! Instead of it being just another book about trucks getting dirty, it had a purpose for them to get cleaned up, as they were going to be in a truck parade. Simple, but fun for little truck lovers.

This rhyming picture book tells the story of a variety of trucks getting a carwash. With expressive text (bold, capitals, larger words for emphasis) the author really emphasizes the need for expression when reading and will help make this book even more fun for young children to listen to and eventually learn to read. As with many truck books, the text includes the names of the different kinds of trucks, something that I think young children love as they seem to know more about trucks than most licensed drivers do! I would recommend this book to parents of truck-lovers and preschool teachers of children in the age 3-6 range. Hooray for Trucks shows just how hard it is to do something you don't want to do when you're having fun. These trucks just want to keep working when they are told that it's time to wash off. They all manage to get it in gear once they realize that getting clean is also a part of work!
