The Rise of the Black Quarterback is study of the long struggle for the men who played quarterback in college to be allowed to play the position in the NFL. Today's superstar QB's including Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson owe a debt of gratitude to the men who blazed the trail before them.
This book would appeal to both older football fans who witnessed the slow acceptance of black quarterbacks, and younger fans who may not even know that it once an issue.
The book is both entertaining and informative, a must read for all football fans.
