Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing a free copy in exchange of an honest review. It’s basically a really cute story about friends to lovers with a hint of mystery involved. Marisol and Sutton are really great and I like that it didn’t took them that long together in the book. The mystery isn’t really a mystery but I wasn’t expecting the plot twist. Honestly, I liked the book but I didn’t love it you know. I didn’t enjoy it and the writing didn’t make me want to not put the book down. Overall, it’s still a good read but not something I would reread or recommend.

The SEALs Sexy Neighbour by Leslie North is a book about a young woman who manages an apartment building and her sexy ex-SEAL neighbour and best friend. While this book did fantastically detail the struggles both physically and mentally of being an ex-SEAL, the romance of it felt a bit superficial. It was a light romp of a story and hit all the basic notes of a romance but I didn’t feel the depth of the story or the chemistry of the characters. I did enjoy all of the male POV and felt that it did really forward the story of his struggles with his mental and physical health. I wish that it went even further in depth in that part of the story and also took the romance to a deeper level.

Your neighbour Marisol is your best friend she is everything any man could ever want. Sutton knows that he is damaged goods and he doesn't think that he will ever be whole again. Things have changed between him & Marisol but can they really work?
Marisol just wants to help Sutton but eh is pushing her away. She cares deeply for him but he thinks that she sees him as a charity case which isn't true. Can she get him to understand that all is wants is to be there for him?
Sutton knows that he has hurt Marisol but he is angry with himself for not being able to manage his new life. Being part of a team as a SEAL was everything to him but after being shot everything changed and he doesn't want Marisol to feel sorry for him.
Can they find their way back to each other?
Great characters even druggie Kevin.
Enjoyable read. Thank you Netgalley & Relay Publishing for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.

Marisol is an apartment manager and Sutton is in Ex Seal after being injured. He wants to keep to himself but Marisol gets him to come out of his shell. They become best friends and although they are attracted to each other they are both afraid to act on it in fear of ruining their friendship. There is a death in the apartment complex that leads to the suspense/mystery portion of this book. Sutton is definitely the grumpy to her her sunshine. I did enjoy the book but didn't connect a ton to Sutton. I wanted him to soften up and be a bit more romantic/protective of Marisol being that it is a suspense/mystery book. Overall it was a good read.

Sexy Seal Sutton and Marisol have a thing for each other but just don’t want to start anything that might ruin their friendship. The story develops as there are funny goings on when one of the residents in the apartment block where Marisol and Sutton live dies and another is beaten up. A bit of a mad cap story line but a good one that drew me in and made me want to see the happy ending.

A sweet, gentle romantic suspense. This is heavier on romance than mystery. I read this book in one day. It was easy to like the characters and empathise with them. Marisol is really sweet and I loved the dynamics between her and Sutton at the beginning of the book where they were trying not to cross the line from friends to lovers.
Sutton was a Seal until he was injured. He is still coming to terms with his new reality which makes him a bit grumpy at Marisol when she fusses over him.
The mystery was good and the suspense and twists at the end really held my attention. I hope Brett and Pam have a story coming next.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This seemed a bit different than the usual. Marisol is a super/owner of an apartment complex. One of the tenants is Sutton and ex seal. They each had their own issues. There is some suspense. It is an interesting read. 3.5 stars

It was a fine romance. Not a ton of spice. The story was sweet and it was fairly well written. I enjoyed it enough, that I would seek out other books in the series and by the same authors.

The SEAL's Sexy Neighbor by Katie Knight
Publisher: Relay Publishing
Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Romance
Published: June 9, 2022

The SEAL's Sexy Neighbor by Katie Knight is a standalone military romance. Featuring an injured, recently discharged SEAL and his building superintendent, this romance was a fun read.

I loved Marisol! She is so kind and caring. She really takes care of the tenants of her building and treats them like family. Her neighbor, Sutton, has been settling into life post military service and dealing with his career ending injury. Both are dealing with insecurities and other hang ups, and have to work through some issues to make things work. I thought they had a cute relationship and I enjoyed their story.

The suspense in the story was good. I enjoyed how that was woven into this book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4 Stars! Cute book about an injured Navy SEAL & his new neighbor/female best friend/apartment building super. This was a good, standalone book. Some of the twists that happened in this book I didn’t see coming. I felt so bad for Sutton, the main male character, having to deal with being injured and in pain. I know how he feels because I’ve been dealing with chronic nerve pain since I was a teen and was paralyzed from the waist down from a cancerous tumor! I can walk now, with a cane, but still deal with severe pain, so Sutton’s attitude kind of annoyed me, even though I can understand where he’s coming from. Pity party, table of one!

Marisol, the main female character, is such a caring person, going out of her way for the building tenants who she considers family. I do wish she would’ve stood up to Sutton a bit more but maybe that’s just because that’s what I would’ve done & because I prefer strong, independent women, especially in books. All in all, a sexy, danger filled, enjoyable read.

Sutton feels sorry for himself throughout parts of the book. It's when he sucks it up that I appreciate his character. Mari is a helper, I'm glad that she has someone to help her when she needs it. I enjoyed reading, The Seal's Sexy Neighbor.
